I like this book it was so well written and the author there’s no negative words to say..and I would not like to spoil the plot of the story...Henry Walters QC did not consider personality not matter the crime he made them pay
I was very intrigued from the moment I saw the cover and read that the story is based on events experienced personally by Author Anthony Coster. After reading the first few pages I was obsessed and totally committed to this book.
When Henry Walters a divorced Q.C meets beautiful Jayne, who wants to marry a man with wealth who can give her the luxurious lifestyle she desires. He is like a lamb to the slaughter!!
After a seemingly happy marriage of four years, Henry is besotted with his beautiful wife and would do or give her anything to keep her happy. However Jayne is happy seeing other men while Henry is working away.
Without giving anything away, this book is full of twists and I loved the way Henry’s character developed from a weak man to a ? (You will have to read it to find out)
I read this book in a few hours and the ending made my day. Let’s just say I now fancy visiting Spain!!

Henry, a Q C falls for the “charms” of Jayne, a scheming freeloader and what follows next changes their lives irrevocably. The cover was very enticing and the description sounded very interesting (based on a true life story), but the way it was written was simplistic and clunky, as if it was from a much earlier decade than the 80’s and it grated on me. Almost every character was selfish to the core, unprofessional and inept. No one came out of this book well sad to say.
I did not enjoy Obsession.. The language is very basic, the characters fell flat for me, and I thought the whole plot was predictable and not very interesting.
Henry wanted what most people want, a good marriage to someone who loves you. Jayne wanted money and an easy life. She is young and beautiful and Henry becomes obsessed with her. He is a barrister for the Queen and has to be gone for work for long periods of time. Jayne uses this time for shopping and liaisons with men who are available until she gets tired of them. Henry finds out about one of her affairs and takes care of it. Jayne leaves Henry for someone she thinks is better for her. As in many cases, things do go according to plan. It's a great book. I always root for the underdog especially when they come out on top. This book is a must read. Loved, loved the ending. I received this book from Net Galley and Matador for a honest review and no compensation otherwise.
3 1/2 Stars!
This was a really interesting read.
None of the characters were likeable in any shape or form. Normally for me, this means the book drags and I can’t wait for it to end. However, despite not liking anyone in this, the plot kept it going at a good interesting pace.
Jayne – a very spoilt selfish person. Obviously, she is beautiful though and this draws men to her.
Henry – whilst he was the most interesting character, he was annoying and honestly, I wanted him to grow a backbone and give Jayne a good telling off.
There are a couple of twists in this though. Jayne doesn’t have just one lover, she has two. Henry unfortunately only knows about the one and ends up targeting the wrong person.
Without giving too much away a lot of events happen and Henry ends up killing someone.
However, he isn’t as smart as he thinks and has left evidence and witnesses everywhere, so he flees the country before the police can make an arrest.
The way this ended up going is completely not what I expected.
If you read this expecting the bad guy to get his comeuppance this you might be slightly satisfied but definitely not fully. Again, I don’t want to give too much away but it was definitely not an ending I was expecting. I liked it and didn’t like it. I am still unsure about it a couple of days later.
This was a really addictive, easy read. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely read more from this genre in general. I watch so many crime shows with this topic I tend to stay away from it in books, but definitely worth a read.

Jayne meets Henry a wealthy barrister who meets all of her wants to be able to live the life of leisure she has wanted. Henry is in love with her and though there is a difference in their ages he tries to make her happy. This is a story that tells us how far we will go to hold on to what we think is love. But can it drive one past what our life has always represented? Henry then has to start thinking about himself when he realizes that he cannot win Jayne back with killing. He has to leave is life as he has known it to save himself. Interesting turn of events take place.
I wasn't too sure when reading the first few pages, whether i would enjoy this book, let alone the style of writing. It didn't take long before i was hooked and for me to read a book in just over a day, is saying something. Although a novel, parts were based on a true events. I tried hard to find out more on the net about some of the characters, but so far haven't found anything. Loved the cover.
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy.
Interesting storyline idea. Would benefit from further character development and different narrator viewpoints throughout.
I did not get on with this book and I’m afraid it is one of the few books I have ever abandoned.
I didn’t find the characters believable and it was unnecessarily long. It’s a shame as the plot description sounded really good! I hope other readers succeed where I failed.

Good reading, easy and flowing. A husband cheated on by his wife who uses everyone to get her princess dream. Not sure who I feel sorry for the most.
It's a very light read, I did finish it and was somewhat caught up in the plot. However, I can't in all honesty recommend it. The dialogue is stilted and formal, not well written. The characters are not engaging. Maybe for a beach read, that's aboutit.
