This book is going to be loved by many I can tell. I just found it very bizarre from start to finish. A young girl kept in a bath with a board over it, then she's trying to trick a tramp in London...and it gets weirder from then on in.
It's set in the world of espionage and government undercover operations which I admit I don't read much about so it could well be this. I have to say, the blurb doesn't read at all like an espionage thriller! I had imagined a crime fiction novel about a girl who escapes or a criminal ring of some sort. Not a younger version of Elizabeth Salander. Even by espionage standards however , it didn't read very authentic or believable for me and stretched credibility. Not for me I'm afraid.
She was only ten years old when she was found alone in a homemade sensory deprivation tank. She has been there for days, listening to a recording that said “My name is Sara Eden”, over and over again. The only clues found were the tape player, a necklace and a photograph with the words “Do not trust this man”. Who is Sara really? And who left her in such a horrendous state? In the weeks and years that follow, an ugly truth begins to surface, one that has to do with military secrets and government cover-ups. More an espionage type thriller than the standard damsel in distress story
trust no one by Anthony Mosawi.
My name is Sara Eden.
My name is Sara Eden.
My name is Sara Eden.
This is all Sara Eden knows about herself. She was found at the age of ten, abandoned in a vat of water - a homemade sensory-deprivation chamber. Someone had placed her there - trapped for days in the dark, with only a cassette player taped to her head repeating again and again - 'My Name is Sara Eden'. There were a handful clues: a battered cassette player, a cheap necklace, a few scraps of paper. And a Polaroid of a stranger with a handwritten note: 'Don't trust this man'
a fantastic read. loved the story and the characters. Sara being my favourite. what a story with a twist. I do hope there is more to come. my favourite part was when Sara found the note. Highly recommended. 5*.
