Great, short read. Artist Lauren meets Prince Nicholas when she is asked to paint his portrait. They are totally different, and he likes that she treats him differently than expected. As the portrait painting progresses, so does their relationship.

Lauren meets Prince Nicholas when she is asked to paint his 30th Birthday portrait. These two do not get off on the right foot . Prince Nicholas in the spare and a playboy whereas Lauren is more serious. The romance was sweet and cute, with two characters that complemented each other very well. It wasn't bad but it wasn't something I haven't read either.

This is a wonderful light and thoroughly enjoyable romance.
Great characters make it a joy to read.

This should not have worked - the tropes are a little too thick and a few times my eyebrow raised at the plot - but I found myself incapable of putting it down. In this glut of royal wedding books thanks to Harry and Meghan, this one stands out as a delightful page turner.

The storyline was so interesting (with all the royal wedding going on, it was the the perfect time to read) that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead. I was very intrigued with the characters throughout their story. It was simply awesome story to read. Definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fantastic royal read and to all book lovers out there as well.

With the Royal Wedding happening, this was the perfect book for me. It was a fun, sweet, and entertaining contemporary romance. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author in the future.

review copies of marrying the rebel prince were sent out to tie into harry and meghan's royal wedding, but prince nicolas and lauren do not have much in common with the real life royals. i mean, i guess nicolas and harry both served in their countries militaries, and both had to give up serving because they were a security risk for their teams. but nicolas reacts with immaturity compared to harry's track record of charity work.

and lauren is essentially an anti-royalist, judgmental snob who pretends to be charitable when in truth she's self-absorbed and unforgiving. so pretty much nothing like meghan.

and yeah, i'm not a lauren fan. she was such a prig it was hard to like her. she jumped to conclusions constantly and never stuck around to get the full story on anything. she's a coward when it comes to standing up for love. in the end she's the one who has to make the grand gesture, because she's spent most of the book being a total jerk.

it was hard to buy into the chemistry for these two leads, because you never believe that lauren and nicolas are right for each other. holding up harry and meghan as comparison to this royal couple does the story no favors.

**marrying the rebel prince published on april 18, 2018. i received a digital copy courtesy of netgalley/hq digital in exchange for my honest review.

Such a fun, cute contemporary romance to brighten your day.

Lauren phelps is an artist picked by the Royal Family of Arennes to paint His Royal Highness Prince Nicholas 30th Birthday Portrait. Out off all the famous artists she is picked and she still can’t believe it.

Prince Nicholas is the dashing Spare Heir and is dubbed “Naughty Nick” in the press. A soldier who has come back into the fold of the Royal Family to do his duty.

The sparks fly between the two from the first meeting at the Royal Palace and you know it’s going to have a happy ending... or is it?

This was such a fun contemporary read. I love a bit of romance and this didn’t disappoint. I felt immediately engaged with Lauren’s character as is quite sassy and has fire and stands her own with the Royal Prince.

Prince Nicholas is the dashing Prince, handsome and underneath it all compassionate and just misunderstood.

I liked Janet Govers style of writing and it was a fun quick read to brighten your day.

This is my first book by this author and I don’t believe it is part of a series. I would be willing to read other book by her.
Lauren meets Prince Nicholas when she is asked to paint his 30th Birthday portrait. These two do not get off on the right foot and seem to clash. Prince Nicholas in the spare and a playboy whereas Lauren is more serious, but confident in herself. When Lauren finds out she was asked for by name to paint his portrait, it sure makes you wonder why/who requested her. Don’t ask me – I’m not telling. 
I thought this book was okay. I couldn’t really get into it and I’m not sure why. Could be because I have been reading so many Royal books lately what with the Royal wedding being this past weekend.

After reading so many Royal books lately, I have been on an overload. Maybe that is why this one wasn't that great for me. I found myself bored with it. I found it also to be a little unbelievable.
