This book of short stories, written by an author born in Vienna in 1920, kept me coming back to it. Initially I thought they were sweet/touching stories of her childhood, but we had supernatural elements, fun quirky 2-pagers, revenge, manipulation and That Painting! Intriguing. Definitely worth a read!
