I really enjoyed this book. It had likeable characters and an easy to ready storyline. Would recommend to romance fans.

Tobi returns to town and settles down to be the new partner in a small Urgent Care. Life never turns out how you want and when it throws you off your game you try to pick yourself back up. Rekindling a romance with her high school crush could definitely help her take a step in the right direction but letting go her fears is something she’s not ready for yet. Will Travis be able to let go of the past or will she drift through each day lost to the fears of his job that threaten to consume her? Great start to the series and I look forward to reading the next two books.

I am just going to say, WOW!! This is intense. I felt so bad for Tobi. Her fear of airplanes, after being the only survivor of a small plane crash. This crash killed her BFF. Travis, is a pilot of a small aircraft and a trainer as well. This is their story of coming together over this past tragedy.

The book is written with a dual POV. This really helped me, the reader, to identify with Tobi's fear. Never having been through the experience, it was a MUST. It is hard to said if she was irrational as I don't have a reference point to go with. Having a look into her thoughts and fears, this helped me as a reader to see where she was coming from. Why she did and/or didn't do things or even say things that I felt were illogical. Ms. Gaddy did a wonderful job of writing this.

Travis, on the other hand, is a definite keeper!!! What a fabulous male protagonist. I just fell in love with him immediately. He was strong and alpha while being kind and caring.

I highly recommend this story to anyone. Yes, there are some sex scenes and strong language BUT it was more of an enhancing of the story not THE story!

I really enjoyed this story. When Tobi returns to her hometown Travis is the only one who recognizes her despite how much she has changed since high school. Travis' pro-baseball career ends early and he is now a pilot. They fall back into their old friendship except now they have a strong attraction. Can they survive the secret she is keeping? Will her inability to fly end their relationship before it even gets started? Great read!

Small town romance is my thing. I'm hooked on those kind of stories. This one didn't disappoint. Good from beginning to end.

Three best friends, Travis, Zack and Levi were attending a gala and trying to promote their business by mingling with others. When Travis saw Dr. Robinson, he couldn’t keep his eyes off him. He didn’t know at first who she was until she smiled at him. It was Tobi from his high school. Four of them were hang out all the time in high school. Now she was back in town in Whiskey River as new doctor at urgent care. None of his friends realized who she was except Travis and he wagers a bet with her. If she wins, she will win 5 dollars and if he wins he will collect a kiss from her.
Finally Tobi is back to Whiskey river trying to settle down. Tobi didn’t see Travis until they ran into each other at the hardware store and he came over to help her move things around at her new home. When she claimed the bet, she couldn’t forget the kiss.
Both were attracted to each other but she was afraid to lose her friendship so she kept him a distance. But that didn’t last long.. Their chemistry was off the charts. So they decided to continue seeing each other plus a puppy for Tobi.
Story turns when she deals with her phobia of plane (tragedy that kept them apart) and Travis loves to fly and he wants to share his love of flying with her. They deeply love each other but she is hiding more than phobia from each other. Will they overcame their fears...

I did enjoy reading about Travis, Tobi and cute puppy Lucky. I could relate some to Tobi’s phobia regarding traveling by air. At least she has Travis to help her overcome.
I can’t wait to read about his best friends.

"Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor" (Devil's Rock at Whiskey River Book 1) by Eve Gaddy is a great read. I loved Travis and Tobi's story. This story is a great start to this series, packed with romance, close friends, overcoming tragedy, new beginnings, and more. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. This was the first time I've read this author's work and it won't be the last. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, entertaining characters, and series.

Loved it, some good angst in there with her dealing with her past. Can't wait to read the next book about his sister.

I love Eve Gaddy, she’s a wonderful storyteller with lots of drama & angst. Travis & Tobi are a great couple even with all the tension & drama in their relationship. A tragedy from the past has been hanging over Tobi & it’s holding her back from a true relationship with Travis. Travis falls fast & hard for his old friend that he’s always loved. When the past is finally confronted due to a family emergency, Tobi understands that the advice her mom gave her is actually true. This is a great start to a new series with the Whiskey River gang. Definitely recommend.

This was an ok book, the problem I was having was with the heroine Tobi,. Tobi had a tragic experience years ago and now she didn't know how to love or really let anyone in, so she went back and forth with Travis, should she shouldn't she, I get that she had issues but I think she needed to get help and stop being so indecisive. Travis was a nice guy and seeing as they knew each other from years ago he was more than happy to have a relationship. I am hoping we get his sister Laura's book with Zack.

I loved reading the Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy, book one in her Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River series, a delightful friends to lovers story. Tobi and Travis returned to Whiskey River after having working elsewhere, Tobi at a hospital in Dallas and Travis flying planes in Austin after a career-ending baseball injury. These two needed to learn to let go of their pasts, hurts, fears, and mistrust, in order to open themselves up to being loved and able to love. Travis was such an understanding guy, knowing Tobi better than herself. Tobi struggled opening up herself to others and making new friends. Life was easy for her with Travis in it but she still had fears to conquer before understanding that life is short and one needs to spend their time alive wisely and with those you love.

This was a fun book to read and easy to visualize the story as it occurred. I totally loved these characters and didn’t want to put this book down. Ms. Gaddy did a fantastic job creating her characters, making them realistic, keeping the story interesting, making me forget the world around me and not letting me go until I turned the last page, wanting more. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.

A second chance love for pilot Travis and one of his high school best friend Tobi who is back in town as a doctor. The attraction is after all these years still present and it doesn't take long that it starts burning and they start seeing each other. But Tobi has a really big baggage from the past and she really doesn't like flying or planes at all. And she really doesn't want to grow feelings toward anyone especially not a cut dog puppy or a hot rebel Pilot. I was glad that the story was not so long because the writing was for me not so fluid. Both characters were great I liked that Travis thought he loved Tobi and showed her his love he would be used to scratch an itch. I liked that Tobi figures although because of the unpleasant event, how life is short and what really matters.

A friends to lovers romance, I loved this story. Tobi has returned home to work as a doctor in the small clinic with a secret from her past. Travis is working as a pilot. They were best friends through high school. Now Travis wants to take it a step further but with a secret that Tobi has, she does not know if she can take the next step in this relationship.

Loved this story of learning to open your heart again and over come your fears. Great characters that are easy to relate to. Looking forward to reading more in this series. I highly recommend this book.

With this book I get to return to Whiskey River and catch up with some of the characters there I know from earlier books, what a treat for me.
Eve Gaddy’s writing makes me feel so in tune with what’s happening on the pages, her writing is like magic, taking Travis and Tobi’s friends to lovers story to the sweetest place, and take a dog Tobi names Lucky and add him to the mix makes this a heart warming story you don’t want to miss.

Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor is a friends to lover story. Tobi and Travis went to high school together and both return to Whiskey River, a beautiful town in Texas. Tobi suffered a traumatic accident and is hesitant to get involved with Travis. Eve Gaddy captures the emotions that Tobi is experiencing and keeps the reader anxiously awaiting a HEA. I have read several books by Eve Gaddy and enjoyed them all.

This was a fun friends to lovers book with some angst. The main characters, Tobi and Travis make such a great couple, except Travis is a pilot and Tobi is deathly afraid of flying. We learn that Tobi was in a horrible airplane crash when she was in college and she was the only survivor. She has survivors guilt in addition th her fears. This is another 5 star book that I enjoyed reading.

If you like Eve Gaddy as an author, this is another great pick. "Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor" is the first book in a new series called "Devil's Rock at Whiskey River". Is a nice romance story filled with a old rekindled friendship turned to relationship.
