I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
*And Then It Happened* by Linda Green is a deeply layered, thought-provoking novel that captures the reader’s attention from the very first page. This book held me in its grip well past bedtime; its storytelling is so vivid and personal that I found it hard to believe it wasn’t drawn from firsthand experience. Green skillfully weaves complex emotions and life’s unpredictable turns into a narrative that feels incredibly real and raw. The characters are brought to life with such authenticity, making it easy to connect with their experiences and challenges on a deeply emotional level. This story's impact will stay with me for a long time, as it is both haunting and reflective, prompting me to consider the delicate moments that shape our lives. I would highly recommend *And Then It Happened* to anyone seeking a compelling, insightful read that resonates well beyond the final page.

Unfortunately this book was not for me, it was a bit slower than I would like and it just didn't hold my attention. I am sure other people will love it!

An emotional roller coaster of a read. This is another well written book by a very talented author. A fabulous, poignant exploration of brain injured patients and their families. Totally believable.

This was a slow and steady read that keeps the reader guessing about Mel' secret. Recommended for likes a good read.

This was such a sad story and a reality check on how things can so quickly change when you think you have the perfect life
So enjoyable a real page turner

Thoroughly enjoyed this book back when I first read it in 2011.
Didn't realise until I opened it and read the copyright that this is a reprint of something I read years ago, but I know I loved all of Linda Green's earlier books even if I can recall the details.

I found this book very slow at times but towards the end I started to enjoy it more! An easy read, emotional at times but good! I think other books by this author have been better if I am honest....but thanks for the read!

Thanks Netgalley. I really like this author and everything she has written. This is the story of Adam and Mel and there daughter Maya. This book made me think about things and how lucky I am and how sometimes we all take things for granted.

This book was beautifully written. There is not many books that keep me up all night reading but this one did. Adam and Mel have a relationship that most can only dream about but can their love and commitment to one another survive after that fateful day. I was there willing that there was a happy ending. There is definitely no putting this book down. Loved itv

Mel spends her life waiting for something to happen - to punish herself for her perfect life. And then IT happened....catastropically..... I,loved the story of how Mel coped when IT actuallt happened. Loved this book.

What an absolutely wonderful book. It had me gripped from the very beginning and I read it in a couple of sittings. It was such an emotional thought provoking read. It made me cry and made me laugh. Would highly recommend

An emotional story telling how a perfect life can come tumbling down. I did find it quite slow in places but well worth a read

This was a great book, I loved the two main characters and the description of their marriage, proper true love and they adored each other. One day at work Adam has an accident and ends up with a brain injury and in a coma. The writer does a good job of making you feel Mel's pain as she tries to struggle on with her life and caring for Adam. I learned the struggle Adam had too through his recovery, he was quite a different person. I have faith in them that everything will be ok.

Linda Green is one of my favourite authors so you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to be on the blog tour for her latest book. I definitely wasn’t disappointed as I loved this emotional, gripping and thought provoking read.
This story is told alternately from Mel and Adam’s point of view. I thought this was really affective as it gave the reader a much deeper understanding of the characters and the couple’s relationship. The reader was able to experience events both as the victim and the observer which was very interesting and made for a fascinating, gripping read. There were times when one half of the story revealed something that the other person had no knowledge of which meant I was soon turning the pages faster and faster as I hoped that the other side would figure it out.
I actually liked both Mel and Adam equally which is quite unusual for me. They were both very real characters as neither was perfect and both had flaws. I did think Mel was a little silly with her paranoia that something was going to happen to destroy her perfect life. I wish she’d just relax and enjoy it more. The author really makes you care about both characters and the writing seems quite intimate at times as the reader knows their inner most thoughts and feelings. They start to seem like old friends and I found that I really cared about what happened to them both.
The book does slow down a little in the middle but by then I was so involved in the story and the characters lives that I wanted to keep reading as I was desperate for the story to have a happy ending. The fact it slows down is quite true to life as patients like this wouldn’t miraculously be healed in a few days. It would have been very easy for the author to include more drama into the book but I was pleased she didn’t as I think it would have taken away from the story.
I’ve read quite a few of Linda Green’s books and I can’t wait to read her next one! Luckily I haven’t got long to wait as her next book is out the end of next month.
Huge thanks to Milly Reid and Quercus for my copy of this book via Netgalley and for inviting me onto the blog tour.

I was recently given the opportunity to read the book, "And Then It Happened" by Linda Green. Now this book is listed as a general fiction/women's reading, which is completely out of my comfort zone. But I was asked to participate in this blog tour so I decided to give it a try. I am actually glad I did, as I did enjoy this book. Mel and Adam Taylor have now known each other and been together for 20 years. They have been married for 10 of those years. They are one of those couples that are perfect for each other and their lives appear to be perfect as well. They finished high school, then college, then marriage, and then, of course, they had a perfect little girl, Maya, that made their family complete. Adam is happy and not afraid to be excited about their future, but Mel, while she is happy and madly in love with Adam and Maya, she is always worried that something bad is going to happen, just around the corner. She can't shake that feeling. And then it does happen. Adam is hurt at work and goes into a coma. The rest of the book really deals with this and makes the reader wonder about what if it happened to them? What if your perfect work came crumbling down around you? But then, it really doesn't, because Adam, Mel and Maya are still together, after all. But this huge issue is right there with them. It was a great book, very emotional and well written. The characters were believable and well defined. I felt like it really got into the reader's brain, making you wonder what you would do in this situation, that can happen to anyone, even a perfect little family like this one. I highly recommend this book. 4 out of 5 stars.

An easy to read emotional story. I did feel it was a little slow in places and slightly drawn out, but I liked the characters and enjoyed the story.

An emotional read about the love story of Adam and Mel. A little slow in places but there is an emotional message behind the story and the characters who are well drawn. Perhaps a bit more action was needed though.

This is a really enjoyable book. It is sad and emotional, but with a lot of humour which I felt really added to the story. Adam and Mel have the perfect life, they are blissfully happy with their 4 year old daughter Maya, but Mel has always been afraid things are just too good and lives in fear of it all going wrong. When Adam has a serious accident at work, it seems that she was right to worry. What follows is a story of heartbreak, loss and love as the whole family have to readjust their lives.
When reading this, I thought it seemed familiar, and I realise it was actually first published a few years ago now. Very enjoyable book, I would definitely recommend.

And Then It Happens by Linda Green will make you laugh and it will make you cry. Linda Green sure knows how to tug at those heart strings.
This is the story of Adam and Mel - childhood sweethearts who have been married for 10 years and together for 20. They are still madly on love and happy. They have a 4 year old daughter Maya who is just a brilliant little girl - the things that come out of her mouth!! Their lives together have been perfect - and then it happens - Adam is injured in a major accident and work and is in a coma. Mel's life is turned upside down.
Things are not looking good for Adam and Mel and Maya have to learn to deal with life without Adam around. This story is of love and friendship and the things people will do for those that they love - you will need tissues.
Thanks to Quercus Books and Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest opinions.

I have previously read a number of Linda Greens books and never been disappointed so I had high expectations for this book. I am pleased to say this book did not disappoint.
The story is one of love, family and a few secrets. It is a story about Mel and Adam, who were childhood sweethearts and twenty years later they are still blissfully happy with a four year old daughter, Maya. That is until an accident at work leaves Adam in a coma.
The story shows how Love can overcome everything and just what relationships go through after traumatic events. This will have you in tears one minute and then laughing the next. A very emotional read that will leave you wishing you had a relationship just like Mel and Adam.
Thank you to Quercus and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.
