I like this author's style of writing, it flows really well and makes the reading easy. The chapters just roll by and before you know it, you are immersed in the story.

I really enjoyed the story, I always wanted my own Bed and Breakfast, now, not so much!

It took a while to pick up, but it was actually such an interesting read! Not mind-blowingly good, but it was enjoyable to read either way. Recommend this if you’re looking for a family drama type of murder-mystery..

What I like about this book is that it is easy and quick read .The events goes fast.

Oh , how dream and reality clash. ... dream of opening b&b and now Kirsty bought a house with help of her mum and wanted to start new life.We don’t understand why she and her family left London at the beginning , just we understand that sometimes happened to her husband.

After couple of chapters in the book it got creepy and scary, I even thought of stop reading, but because I read the author other book and loved, I kept going. ( I don’t like to read scary books or watch scary movies that why I wanted to give up).
Thank goodness I didn’t, and it actually gets to become murder mystery which it what I like.
The ending was creepy, but it was fast reading. I liked the style of writing , from Kirsty point of view.

Well written thriller with a definite twist at the end which I really did not see coming. Recommended.

We follow a family that has moved to Wales to start a B&B when a family member that they have fallen out with shows up. It seems that Kirsty's cousin Selena seems to be running from something and soon trouble hits the B&B.

I thought that this was really well written and had me hooked from quite early on; Despite not being that long the author manages to discuss a number of topics such as domestic abuse and mental health. The last portion is where the majority of the action happens and there is a shocking twist at the end. I did not see the ending coming which is something I always look for in a mystery/thriller.

I have read another book previously from the author and I really like the way that she writes her books. They are gripping and interesting to read. and all the characters feel very realistic.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this if you are looking for a fast-paced mystery that will keep you guessing up until the end.

This novel promised much but as the story unfolded it became less and less appealing.
The plot felt contrived; the characters two dimensional. Instead of letting events from the past emerge if they matter, we are told everything. And some of this is simply to "explain" events whilst other information is simply a distraction.
There is much to be said of allowing the reader to make some decisions, a little like an America film telling everything and a European letting the audience come to conclusions as they can.
Nothing in this book felt real and the conclusion, not a surprise, was irritating with its presumption of a genetic disposition to lie or deceive in children.
This was a cauldron of ideas, events and characters, stirred furiously to find a new tonic, and failing.
Disappointing.

I quite enjoyed this book. I wouldn't say it was gripping but it was an easy read. When Kirsty and Adrian move to Wales to start a new life with her mother and their two daughters things seem hard but worthwhile - One day Selena, Kirsty's cousin who she hasn't spoken to for years arrives to stay, I think the story was a bit confused - One minute there was a lot of family dramas that started being hinted at then didn't really go anywhere, then there was something happening in the house that felt haunted or at the very least someone had it in for the occupants. A good enough read but may have been better if it wasn't trying to run along two threads.

This was not a book for me, I kept pushing it away and reading other books in the meantime.

The writing was good, but the plot dragged on and on. After the intriguing prologue the story went back several months and kept hinting at events even further in the past. Slowly the story crept towards the event of the prologue, revealing a few striking details about several family members/characters on the way. But it was not as gripping as I had anticipated.

To be honest, I definitely read the two chapters after the 'event' happened and then just skimmed for the rest of the story.

I have read a couple of Claire Douglas books so knew I would enjoy this intricate and cleverly woven tale of a family moving to a small village in Wales. Kirsty and Adrian's intention was to make a fresh start running a guest house after a traumatic period in London, and the peaceful locale - nestled among the imposing Brecon Beacons - seemed ideal. Unfortunately, several members of Kirsty's family soon arrive bringing all their problems with them.

There is a murder and - even worse - some poor Tripadvisor reviews! No-one is who they seem, and everyone has secrets, even the most innocent-seeming characters.

The writing is superb, well paced and immersive. The changeable weather and mountainous backdrop are used to good effect. There are quite a few red herrings and although I picked up on some clues I didn't see the twist right at the end coming. Highly recommended.

I read this while on holiday, and enjoyed it immensely. The setting was great, and the creepy atmosphere was very well done.
Lots of twists and turns - I thought the book started off slowly, but gathered pace in the latter half. I will be looking to read more books from this author.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance ARC copy of this book.

I have read a lot of books from this genre and I can normally tell quite early on how the plot will go but this book had so many teasers and twists and turns it took me until near the end to form solid suspicions about who the murderer was.
The book begins with the murder then flips back to the preceding days and events leading up to the death. The main characters are Kirsty and Adrian who decide to pack up theirs lives in London with their 2 daughters and are looking forward to their fresh start running a guesthouse in the Welsh mountains in partnership with Kirstie’s mum. Adrian suffered a breakdown recently and they see it as their chance for a new start.
Their first guest arrives and her cousin Selena who brings her “poorly” daughter Ruby is the last person Kirsty expects and wants to see. Seventeen years have passed since Selena tore her world in two. What does she want now and why has she chosen now to walse back into Kirsty's life? Things go from bad to worse when everyone becomes a suspect in a murder, Kirsty wonders if their move from London was a big mistake after all.
This is a twisted tale about a family trying to move on, raw wounds, secrets and lies. Who can be trusted?
For me, the plot at times felt a little far fetched to be believable, everything was to the extreme. In saying that, this book is still a good read and I would recommend it.

I would like to extend my thanks to NetGalley, Penguin UK, Micheal Joseph and Claire Douglas for my ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This is an ok thriller. It held my interest to the end. However there are better books out there to read.

This is a really good book. It is well written and i really enjoyed the storyline

The book begins with the discovery of a body and is split into part 1 before and part 2 after.

The book is told from the viewpoint of the main protagonist Kirsty.

I really enjoyed this book.

I completely loved this - it opened with a body at the foot of the stairs and then tells you what led up to that point on a series of flashback stories.

I received a digital arc of #DoNotDisturb from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first encounter with this author but it won't be my last. From the first page I was hooked. After the first chapter I did find it a bit slow as we are taken through the weeks and days leading up to that day. However once we arrive at that day and the events that follow, I couldn't put it down.

I really liked the twist at the end. I thought I'd worked it out but I hadn't. There were 2 twists after that! Great ending which shows the strength of family bonds and just what lengths a person will go to for their family. I will definitely be reading more books by this author in the future.

Captivating. Disturbing. Addictive.

Could your dream home be your worst nightmare?

When married couple Kirsty and Adrian decide they need a fresh start and to leave the stresses and woes behind of London they think running a guesthouse and moving their family to the idyllic Welsh mountains is the perfect antidote.

A newly renovated B&B, with an abundance of history. Nothing could go wrong…

But then their first guest arrives. Selena. The last person Kirsty wants to see especially since she ripped their lives apart 17 years previously.

But Kirsty is outnumbered and relents allowing her back into her life and her home. Something she isn’t comfortable with because Kirsty knows that once you invite trouble into your home, it can be murder getting rid of it . . .

After previously reading Local Girl Missing, I literally snatched excitedly at this opportunity to receive an ARC from the publisher. And let me tell you Ms Douglas DID.NOT.DISAPPOINT.

Instantly drawing me in from the get-go. With cleverly, intricate writing that played like a showreel in my mind and I’m not afraid to admit scared me a little bit. With a plot the flowed with elegant ease leading to twists and turns that I did not see coming made for another fantastic, completely binge worthy haunting read!

I can’t recommend this enough and can’t wait for this Authors next book!!

This is a wonderfully gripping psychological thriller that I found so hard to put down. After a hectic life in the city, Kirsty and her husband decide to move to the idyllic Welsh mountains to open a bed and breakfast, with the help of Kirsty's mother.

However, this seemingly happy set up, and a promising start to a new, quiet life, is marred when Selena, Kirsty's cousin, comes to stay with them at the B&B. With her arrival comes a lot more trouble...

This novel is chilling, packed with secrets and is thoroughly unpredictable right to the end.

Do Not Disturb is the second book I have read by Claire Douglas and I was not disappointed in this book at all. The descriptions of the guest house the story is set around were so vivid I could picture it even when I wasn't reading the book and this was one of those rare books I put other things on hold for in order to read.

So many red herrings in this book and some fantastic twists as well, it was a gripping read and I am already looking forward to my next read by this author.

After reading Last Seen Alive by Claire Douglas I was very keen to receive a copy of her new book - Do Not Disturb. It opens with Kirstie and Adrian moving to Brecon Beacons in Wales with their two daughters and grandmother to start up a bed and breakfast. It sounds quite idyllic and the dream job until Kirstie´s cousin Selena comes to stay with her ill daughter Ruby. Selena brings with her a chequered past which threatens Kirstie and Adrian´s peaceful existence. Typical of Claire Douglas, there are twists galore and the ending is quite surprising. Claire Douglas´s imagination and ability to set the scene is quite poetic and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
