I received a copy of this for a fair and honest review. I love all this spa stuff. I have a binder where I keep all my favorite recipes. I love this and it makes me think of all the times I had with my sister. I am a twin and this was the kind of things we would do together. The recipes and yoga and other little self-love stuff was great. It was very relaxing to read.
I could not view this on any devices...sorry. I presume it will only be available in print form. I was looking forward to considering it for my nieces.
Girl's Home Spa Lab is the book I wish I had when I was a tween. Full of body positive messages, and self care tips that go beyond normal spa treatments, this book is a treat for anyone who would like a little pampering. The photographs are beautifully shot, and the information in the book would not make me feel uncomfortable giving it to a tween or teenage girl. There are many recipes for masks, soaks, and lotions, as well as relaxing and energizing yoga poses. I like Girls' Home Spa Lab because it acknowledges that spa days are really fun, but beauty doesn't need to be expensive and it does not define a girl's worth.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The book targets young girls from 9 to 13 years old. This is a beautiful gift for young girls. The book is not only a homemade spa recipes and dyi tools but an introduction to mindfulness, yoga, meditation and healthy habits. A very educational guide about wellness.
"Girls' Home Spa Lab" is a top resource for teenage girls who want an introduction to home pampering and is a very age appropriate guide (for girls 9-13). The recipes are all natural, set youngsters up to learn healthy habits with regards to beauty and hygiene, and provides information on feel-good activities to make them glow both on the inside and out.
The benefits of getting into a beauty and hygiene routine from a young age should not be underestimated and from around 9-10 years-old is the perfect age to start instilling these values. These are also excellent ways for youngsters to de-stress and take time away from technology and in particular social media. Social media has been in the headlines a lot recently for flouting privacy laws and for claim of the medical profession who state that it is damaging children and tennagers mental health. Therefore, it is crucial that young people find a way to alleviate stress before it leads to long-term health issues such as anxiety. This book gives some great examples of ways to relax, could be carried out in a group of friends or even be used as mother and daughter bonding time. Activities such as these can play a huge part in a persons wellbeing.
The book is specially designed for tweens and the 50 head-to-toe recipes can be easily made from ingredients found in the kitchen cupboard, like honey, oats, and coconut oil. Homemade facial steams and hair masks to foot soaks, tub teas, and body balms are complimented by recipes for other aids to relaxation such as soothing yoga poses, homemade sleep tea, and natural remedies for a headache, stuffy nose, or sore throat.
"Girls' Home Spa Lab" is exactly what is needed for young girls to develop a healthy mind as well as body and will help towards creating a self-confident teenager, and eventually an adult.
