Fabulous recipes as always. This was inspiration for more cooking especially during lockdown. Can’t fault the recipes every one we tried was successful. Such a treat.

Another fabulous book from the winner of Great British Bake Off. I do believe Nadiya is best suited to home cookery then just baking centre pieces. She seems to excel in bringing delicious food to the family table and this book is not short of such recipes.

A great sampler of what's to come.

I love Nadia and was so excited to get a glimpse into her newest cookbook and she didn't disappoint.
I was gutted it was just a sample, but it left me wanting more.

So I purchased a hard back copy via Amazon and received it next day.

So Many scrumptious recipes a fantastic mix of different recipes, easy to follow, gorgeous pictures of the finished product, affordable ingredients.
What's not to love!

I highly recommend this delightful recipe book, but be warned it will get your tummy rumbling!

This book has such creative twists on recipes, and all the recipes are easy and approachable. Nadiya has such a welcoming writing voice, and she just brings you into her home. It's a beautiful book, and the flavors are so exciting.

I really enjoyed this cookbook. The recipes were ones I would actually make and not hard to follow. I have several lined up to make now.

I have received a sampler of this cookbook from Netgalley. The narrative of the cookbook is interesting and Nadia's character certainly shines through. It has some different combinations of foods that I am looking forward to trying.

Beautiful photography and great recipes make this a must have book. Nadiya is full of joy and this comes across in her writing.

I really enjoyed reviewing Nadiya's latest cookbook! It was so fun to have a go at something a little different from what I usually do and I really loved trying some of the many recipes!
The photos in the cookbook are beautiful, very bright and colourful and high quality. The whole book just has a happy feel to it really, with lovely smiley photos of Nadiya baking to guide you through things like the Ham and Cheese Crown and wonderful stories at the top of each recipe detailing what inspired her and what each recipe means to Nadiya. I loved this. Another thing I loved was the little notes section at the back to write things like your favourite recipes. This is just another example of a small extra detail which makes the book really special.
One thing I would say though, is that some of the ingredients aren't things that you'd just have in your cupboard so some will need planning to ensure that you're able to get the ingredients. For example, I needed dried apples for one of the recipes and nowhere near me seemed to sell them. That's probably just because I live in quite a small area, and I'm sure most other places sell them, but just make sure you plan for the recipes you want to make, to ensure you have the ingredients in.
So now on to my attempts! First up, was the Ham and Cheese Crown. I thought the instructions for this were brilliant, there were additional step by step photos provided which were really clear and easy to follow. I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out!
Next was the Purple Velvet Cake. Again, the instructions were easy to follow and it tasted delicious! The texture was beautiful and what I love about it is that it's lactose free and there's no food colouring at all! The vibrant colour comes from the blueberries! 
I also made the Strawberry Coconut Ice and Apple Rocky Road which were again, brilliant.
Overall, I'm giving Nadiya's Family Favourites 5 out of 5. It's really easy to follow, with beautiful photos and stories and has lots of delicious recipes. I'm really looking forward to trying the rest!

I was only able to read a sample from this cooking book Nadiya's Family Favourites. It is well written, explores breakfast, lunch, cakes and the recipes look really tasty and interesting to try.

Another great cook book from Nadiya! Love the images, style and layout of the book. The recipes look fantastic, I will be putting this book on my Christmas list!

Really appealing recipes that seem achievable for any home chef. The layout of the book seems great with easy to follow recipes and enough pictures to seem enticing. I will definitely be trying out some of this recipes.

I was fortunate to receive a sampler of this book.
I love Nadiya’s way of giving the reader a real picture of her family life. The sample of the recipes I saw were very straightforward and easy to follow and not particularly time consuming, but were original which would make one want to own the book.
I particularly like the spinach and paneer kati rolls and halloumi curry which both look and sound delicious and I will be trying very soon! 👩🏼‍🍳

The first book I have ever downloaded from Netgalley was a sampler of Nadiya’s British Food Adventure. As I adore Nadiya Hussain, ever since her Great British Bakeoff days, I was delighted to be able to read even just a small piece of her book. And, well, the other reason is quite simple: her scone recipe was delicious, easy to follow and easy to devour!
When this summer Penguin Random House contacted me to ask if I was interested in reviewing Nadiya’s new book, Nadiya’s Family Favourites, I was ecstatic! I couldn’t believe I got to hold the actual book in only a few days’ time, but the book came and ever since I was anxiously waiting for the right time to be able to read it and try some of the recipes.
The time has finally come, and I got to make not only one but FIVE of the dishes! But before I show you all the food I’ve made (with pictures on my blog and instagram), let me tell you a bit more about the book.
Just like that other book, Nadiya’s British Food Adventure, this one, too, is full of lovely pictures and delicious foods. It starts off with Nadiya’s ode to food.
“For me, food is all about the people we love, and the family memories we make with them, the things we eat as vivid in our minds as the moments and milestones that inspire them.”
She then illustrates this by showing snippets of food-related memories of her family, her husband and three children. I can imagine their everyday life, filled with love and laughter – and probably the gorgeous smell of a decadent meal as well. Even though food means different things to all of them and they like different things, it’s something that ties them together.
“Food, home, family: for me, all three go hand in hand.”
The book is structured in a way that makes finding a recipe for “every kind of day”, as the title says, super easy. There are 6 sections, all separated by full-page pictures of a very gorgeous looking Nadiya, making cooking and baking seem incredibly fun and easy. She also introduces each chapter with a few words. The chapters, in this very order, are the following: breakfast, lunch, sides and shares, dinner, something sweet, and cake. Yes, cakes have their own chapter, like they should have!
I thought that reviewing this amazing book would be only complete if I tried some of the recipes because who would want to hear me rambling about food without actual photos of the dishes tried?! So I chose several recipes, trying to cover as much of the chapters as I could, which left me with 5 dishes!
One of the things that had attracted me to Nadiya’s cookbooks in the first place is that our culinary backgrounds are very different. She is from a British Bangladeshi family while I am Hungarian through and through. Our people use very different spices, seasonal greens result in distinct dishes. Through her recipes I get a look into a part of the world that otherwise I wouldn’t be able to experience from the comfort of my home. This, of course, means that there were some recipes that I had to discard because I just couldn’t find the ingredients. But that still left me with plenty to choose from, so choose I did!
First, I tried the rice-flour gnocchi with sesame pesto. An easy yet filling lunch, I must say! At first, I was worried that it wouldn’t be enough for my parents and myself – because they were happy to take part in this experiment and try these dishes. Safe to say, I couldn’t eat a whole plateful of gnocchi, so my fears were unfounded.
For breakfast, I tried two different recipes, although one was supposed to qualify as lunch, but what can I say, I like to eat a fair amount. So I made radish ceviche with avocado and toasted sourdough. This was such a divine and lush breakfast! Crunchy and soft, sweet and salty. Definitely a family favourite for us, as well!
The other thing I made for breakfast, with a nice toast and some homegrown tomatoes, was the cauliflower hummus. These easy breakfast recipes will undoubtedly come handy in the future.
As Sunday lunch – which is the big family meal in Hungary – we tried the chicken and rice bake. Very simple, but delicious and filling. We have something similar in our cuisine as well, rice and peas, which made this dish familiar. The kick of cardamom was a welcome novelty, though.
I couldn’t have rightfully reviewed this lovely cookbook without trying one of the cakes. As it’s summer, there was no way we could have chosen anything but the raspberry ice cream cake. It was refreshingly cold, super soft and creamy. Perfect on hot summer days. And nights. The 3 of us ate the whole cake in 2 days. That says it all!
I have to admit, a month ago or so, when I first received the book, I couldn’t keep my excitement at bay and had to try a very simple recipe. As a bonus, let me show you how epically I failed at presentation. If you think this is bad, let me tell you that the recipe is called ham and cheese crown. Mine turned out to be a gigantic log at best, but super far from a crown whatever you want to call it. I blame it on my cockiness, wanting to bake at 10pm… Because it definitely wasn’t the store-bought puff pastry, or the ketchup filling, or the cheese, or the ham. Meaning I had only one job, to assemble all this into a fancy looking crown… and I failed horribly!
Joking aside, this is the thing I love most about Nadiya’s recipes: they are easy and quick and don’t require you to slave away for hours. They have simple and often pre-prepared ingredients when it comes to pastries and some sauces, which saves you a lot of time – and lets you spend time with those you love instead. Perfect for those who are learning how to cook, those who want to bring new flavours into their lives, and most definitely those who want a cookbook made with a big heart and lots of love.

Unfortunately I only saw a sample copy of this book for review by the publisher, but what I read and saw was fabulous, Nadiya's writing style draws you into the family - making you feel part of the eating experience. The recipes are lovely, a touch of the different in many of the dishes, but easy and lovely to try. The photos a great, but I think the way her recipes are entwined with daily life is a really winner.

Nadiya has an engaging writing style that makes you feel comfortable and excited to try all her recipes. The sample of this book I received contained several delicious-looking recipes with easy-to-follow instructions that I could see making it into anyone's cooking rotation for their family.

Nadiya has an engaging personality and these straightforward recipes will have wide-appeal. Star rating reflects that I only saw a sample.

I didn't like this recipe book. The recipes are complicated and wouldn't be attractive to my teenage children.

this is the second of Nadiyas books that i have has, and i love them! i like the layout, which makes reproducing the recipes easy.. the instructions are easy to follow and the pictures are delectable. i would highly recomend to aspiring cooks, and watchers of the tv programme.
