I love Samantha Towle, her writing style always flows brilliantly and the stories are told in a way that just grabs a hold of you and pulls you in. Rush was one of these books that just bring out all the emotions - laughter, sadness, absolute joy and every emotion in between. Ares and Ari are beautiful together and the struggles they overcome, both individually and together just show the extent of their connection and compatibility. I loved this book and wish I could read again without knowing what happens on every page ❤️
OMG. What a fantastic book. I loved this story, which takes you on an emotional journey with Ari a recovering alcoholic who starts a new job assisting her dad, the head coach of the Giants. Ares is the star quarterback and to be perfectly honest, a bit of a jerk to Ari when they first meet. There is some great banter between the two. Ari is feisty and we get to see Ares’ caring side. Can’t wait for Missy’s story. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I actually enjoyed this more than Ruin, and I loved Ruin!
Ares! Gah! What an ass! Some of the things he said to Ari were downright awful! But damn if he isn’t like my catnip! Despite his assholish ways, he was actually very sweet too!
Poor Ari has had a rough time of it and she’s still struggling when she meets Ares. You can feel her unworthiness and self loathing as if it were your own. And as nice as it was to read Ari and Ares’ relationship blossom, watching Ari fight her daily struggle and come out stronger on the other side was a delight to read.
As always with Samantha Towle, I throughly enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it!
5 stars!
You most definitely get a Rush when you read this book. Samantha Towle delivers a incredible read that will have you feeling all different kinds of emotions. There will be tears, there will be laughter and there also will be anger at times but when you meet Ares & Arianna you will live and love their story right along with them.
Arianna Petrelli is a woman who has struggled with an addiction but she is now trying to get herself back on her feet trying to start over, what she never expected was meeting Ares Kincaid.
Ares Kincaid is the Quarterback of the Giants a man who has grown-up with family issues but when he meets Arianna Petrelli he assumes the worst and really shows what a jerk he can be.
The relationship between the two is very contentious
at the beginning but when they spend time together you see how getting to know one another can change your mind. They will go through a lot of ups and downs, some very serious misunderstandings but when you have full disclosure you really see the true person
I really enjoyed Ares and Ari’s emotional and uplifting story. There’s a good balance of light humorous moments, sexual tension and drama, which had me devouring this book in one sitting. Ares is the most frustrating man at the beginning of Rush and it was difficult to find anything to like about him. It was clear he had preconceived ideas about Ari because of experiences in his own life, which I guess was understandable, but the way he treated Ari was downright rude and unnecessary. I love it when an author makes you feel conflicted about a character. Although I did find him exasperating at times, I came to love Ares, even when I did want to shake him when he jumped to conclusions.
I completely loved Arianna. Her struggles were real and her past was heartbreaking. Now trying to get her life back on track, I loved her strength, her feisty personality and her courage. I admired the fight in her and the way she didn’t back down, or give in, even when the going got tough. Her struggles were dealt with sensitively and were well written. This book gave me all the feels and I loved it.
Although this is book two of an interconnected series, Ruin can totally be read as a stand-alone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second story about the Kincaid siblings. I really liked Ari and Ares they were both flawed characters but they are bith well aware of their flaws without being over the top.
Ares is the star quarterback of a major football team who can be a judgmental pain when faced with an alcoholic. Ari is the team coaches daughter getting back on her feet after being in rehab for alcohol addiction. The attraction was instant and I felt the spark between them and also Ari's hurt when Ares turns cold when he realises who she is. I enjoyed seeing them interact and Ares come to realise what a jerk he is and the couple become friends. I felt with them falling in love that it was more tell than show so when they come together as lovers I didn't get all the feels. The issues around Ari's addiction were the source of the angst between the couple and were believable and done well. When the main issue came up yes you can see it coming but my heart was in my mouth for Ari anyway. I was genuinely worried for her and was glad nothing worse happened to her as she got herself out of a potentially terrible situation.
There were one or two situations that were not entirely wrapped up. I would like to know what happened with Ari's ex. Also I had hoped the journalist would get more than he did but then that may not have been more realistic than how it played out.
I am looking forward to Missy and Lo's stories especially Missy as we find out towards the end of this book who her love interest will be.
Another great read 4* by Samantha Towle.
This book packs an emotional punch! There is a bit love hate stuff to start with but I was transfixed by the back and forth between Ares and Ari. Sam’s writing is impeccable as always and they way in which she redeems Ares was ingenious and had me rooting for him at the end. I also loved the fact that it didn’t shy away from the heavy issues of mental health and addiction amongst others. Overall this was a great addictive read which stands on its own and I look forward to receiving more of the same.

Ari just out of rehab for alcoholism and after a drink drive car crash has started a job assisting her father who is coach for NFL New York Giants team. First day day after getting soaked in the rain she is trying to dry off half undressed in an empty changing room. Enter Ares, quarterback for the team, there is an instant attraction but when Ares realises who she is he is rude and scathing about her alcoholism having had a childhood blighted by his fathers addiction to alcohol. Sparks fly with Ari giving as good as she gets.
Slowly Ares realises that Ari is not the person he thinks she is and is ashamed of how he's treated her, a relationship develops, Ari although still having her struggles finds Ares a support she's never had before.
There is a lot of angst to come and the difficulty of addiction is very well handled, as with the previous book Ruin this is a great story, throughly enjoyable.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book.
