This was very Mills and Boon in style. And if I had known that I probably wouldn’t have down loaded it. It’s ok, readable, a little predictable, and has a happy ending. It wasn’t what I expected but I read it anyway.
This was my first read of a book by Carla Burgess and I really enjoyed it right from the first page. Although it’s an easy romcom with a predictable ending I would certainly recommend this book as a brilliant holiday read. We follow the lives of Rachel and Anthony who broke up when Anthony was involved in an accident and sent Rachel a letter saying their relationship was over and not to visit him in Hospital. They bump into each other again when Anthony’s family have a wedding fair which Rachel and her best friend attend. They both realise they still have feelings for each other but will they manage to get together again and what secret is Anthony keeping from her.
It was nice to be back reading about Rachel and Anthony again, I was eager to find out what had happened and this novel didn't disappoint. You don't need to worry about having read the first one either because this could easily be read as a standalone.
After a horrible car accident which Anthony was in, he wrote Rachel a letter which, cutting a long story short, told her that he didn't love her anymore. Rachel was left crushed, of course, and is eager to find out why Anthony changed his mind so suddenly.
She bumps into Anthony at a wedding fair she's attending with her best friend and at once she feels that the sparks are still there. She feels that Anthony has been keeping a secret from her and she's desperate to find out what it is. Will Anthony tell her why he left? Or will Rachel be left heartbroken again?
A great, entertaining read
My review has been posted to Goodreads.
Review has also been tweeted as usual.
Thank you! :c)
Enjoyable read. This is the second book featuring Rachel and Anthony, and while I don't think it matters if you haven't read the first book, it does give some context to this story.
Rachel and Anthony are no longer together, after he was in a car accident and sent her a letter basically saying he didn't love her so leave him alone.
One year later she is at a wedding fayre with her best friend. She knows this is taking place at Anthony's family home, but as he always seemed to dislike returning there she thinks it is safe to visit. Unfortunately she sees him again at the moment she is trying on a wedding dress! There is still a spark between them, but he thinks she is marrying someone else, and he never loved her right?
An enteraining read, which is emotional in parts.
Rachel is still smarting after being dumped by the man she loved, Anthony Bascombe. She puts aside her pain to celebrate her friend’s wedding, where she will serve as bridesmaid, but when Anthony shows up, all bets are off. Rachel is determined to find out why Anthony left her and she won’t stop digging until she has the answers. While I admire Rachel’s determination, I think I would have given Anthony the bum’s rush
This os my first book by this author the cover really attracted me to it and I'm so glad it did as simply brilliant from the first page. Worth far more than the five stars I gave it was hooked from the first page and didn't want it to end. So heartwarming and romantic and full of weddings and being happy with the right person. It's about keeping a secret from your lived one and thinking its for the best when clearly it isn't. It was a laugh out loud book and such a beautiful setting to.
Rachel was left a letter from her boyfriend who was in hospital to say he didn't want to be with her any more and for a year she has struggled but her friend is getting married now and she's been asked to be a bridesmaid and she thinks it will distract her broken heart. She sees an advert for a wedding fair which is at the family home of her ex so she suggests going knowing he won't be there as he cant stand weddings. She goes and she bumps into Anthony her ex and she's shocked and really doesn't no how to cope she sees the rest of his family and slowly she starts to talk to Anthony and they eventually realise they are now both single and do start seeing each other but it's clear he's been keeping a secret can she find what it is and be happy together or not and there family home willow hall is starting to do weddings and she starts to help him and give suggestions. Also her work is having to close as they can't afford the shop any more so Anthony suggest moving it to willow hall as she does flowers and he says she can do them for the weddings. She gives Anthony a choice and can he make the right one or is it all or not.
Simply fantastic this book didn't want it to end at all highly recommend anyone to read it.
