Great suspenseful tale. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, have a baby, girl leaves all her family behind so has no support, boy turns out not to be who he first seems - this may all sound like one of your usual psychological suspense tales but here you meet Alex who is another kind of evil altogether....... This was such a good read that I finished it within 24 hours, followed the author on Facebook and am now planning to purchase her first book. I really recommend this book! Thank you to the author, her publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this in advance.

Brilliant read , I absolutely loved this …… When Kaitlyn discovers she is pregnant after a one night stand with her old crush from school , she leaves her family and friends and moves to the lakes to be with him . It all starts off well but Alex becomes increasingly unpredictable and what should be a dream start to married life is anything but. Cut off from all her friends and family Kaitlyn's situation becomes desperate . Thrilling and pacey with a really satisfying conclusion . I will certainly look forward to reading the next one from Diane Jeffrey . Thank you for the opportunity to read this .

Kaitlyn Best, after having a one night stand with her school crush, Alex Riley, discovers she is pregnant. Within quick succession she finds herself married and living with him at his house, The Old Vicarage, miles from her home town of Somerset. She finds herself becoming increasingly more isolated from the family she has left behind, and notices Alex beginning to change. Should this be a cause for concern, or is Alex’s protective nature harmless?

It’s been quite a while since I’ve felt gripped by a novel, and this one really did grip me. Diane’s writing is phenomenal and I really felt such a rollercoaster of emotions as I progressed through this book! Kaitlyn was a great protagonist and I really felt every emotion with her.

The number of twists and turns in this book is astounding. I didn’t guess any of them which is unusual, but very welcomed! Domestic thrillers can all seem very ‘samey’ if not done correctly but this novel’s originally is fantastic.

The only thing I did think, however, was that the ending felt a little rushed compared to the rest of the novel. I think I would have liked a little more to it - but this was only a minor thing!.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

He Will Find You by Diane Jeffrey is a Psychological thriller that had me hooked from the first page.
Kaitlyn sees an old school friend on Facebook and sends him a friends request. They start messaging each other and after a whirlwind romance they marry. She soon finds that she has made a very big mistake, her life becomes a story of manipulation, self doubt and lies.
I enjoyed this book even though I guessed most of the twists.
I would like to thank NetGalley and HQ for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

A cleverly plotted mystery with a constant drip-feed of dread - I really enjoyed this second book by Diane Jeffrey and am very much looking forward to what she writes next.

He Will Find You is the second psychological thriller from Diane Jeffrey. I enjoyed reading her first novel, Those Who Lie, so I was interested to see what she had come up with for her next book.

We follow Kaitlyn who after having a one night stand with her former school crush, Alex, begins a relationship with him and in the matter of a few short weeks they are married. But the best news for Kaitlyn is when she finds out that she is pregnant. After the vows have been exchanged and the marriage certificate signed, Alex begins to change leaving Kaitlyn in an unnerving situation. And soon she begins to fear for both her safety and her daughter’s.

Diane Jeffrey explores the effects of psychological abuse as well as physical in her latest book. When Kaitlyn arrives at her new home The Old Vicarage, eager and excited to begin her new life, I straight away felt that this was all too good to be true. Alex is a cold and calculating character who knows how to manipulate people and a situation. As I began to find out more about him my opinion of him did keep changing, particularly as we begin to understand the trauma he suffered in his past. This is how Diane keeps up the suspense, is he going to do something terrible, is he going to keep his promises to Kaitlyn?

We also learn details of Alex’s former relationships and that he has two daughters from a previous marriage, Poppy and Violet. But little more is said about them and this intrigues and frightens Kaitlyn. Why doesn’t he have a relationship with them, why are there no photographs of his children around the house? Just what is Alex capable of?

For me I think the pace in the novel did increase more after Chloe was born and this is where I found the plot to become tense and more gripping. At the start I was intrigued by Kaitlyn’s decision to marry Alex so quickly and I became invested in her character as this was a very big decision for her. In the first half of the novel there are some parts in the story which really hit the reader but it is quieter than the second half. We do however get to see Kaitlyn’s character develop and this is essential, I think, in helping us to understand her and the predicament she is now in. Diane conveys this well in her writing by giving us hints of what is to come, especially in scenes when Alex’s personality begins to change and also by allowing us into the inner workings of Kaitlyn’s mind as she starts to question her marriage. Towards the end there were some surprising twists that I didn’t see coming and one in particular really gave me chills, I just had to keep reading to the end to find out what was going to happen. If you’re a fan of domestic noir novels then I definitely recommend this book.

Enjoyable book - tension builds throughout the book. You can see where it is heading - and it does head there but also with some twists along the way and down paths you were not expecting.

I really loved this author's debut "Those Who Lie" when I read it last year so I was quite excited to get my hands on this, her follow up book. I say excited, I also mean scared, scared it wouldn't meet my, admittedly quite high, expectations. Well... I'm very pleased to report that, yup, loved this one too!
Kaitlyn is in a bit of a rut in her life. So she does what I guess the majority of us do on occasion and starts to think about people from her past and sends a Facebook friend request to old friend Alex who she spies popping up on others' timelines. After a bit of a flirt on email and FaceTime, they meet up and have a liaison in a hotel, the events of which leave her pregnant. So, cutting to the chase, up she gets and leaves her life to move in with him. But the reality of what she finds there, living with Alex, is not the future she imagined for herself. Not. At. All. And, as Alex's true character starts to come out, the tension rises until, eventually, her every nightmare is realised, with shocking repercussions.
I know I should be thinking - well Kaitlyn, you made your bed, you gotta lie in it (quite literally!) - and I did to a certain extent. But then, as more of the nasty side of Alex started to come through, I just wanted to scream at her to swallow her pride, admit her mistake, and run. Oh my days, what a nasty nasty person, and some of the things he does... well, you'll have to discover them yourself. Love really can be blind sometimes, especially when it strikes as quickly as it did for Kaitlyn. Woods and trees and all that.
As well as the main shenanigans going on with Alex and Kaitlyn, we have quite the dynamic going on between other characters, some of which also have interesting things going on in their own lives, making for a veritable supporting cast whose own stories complemented and added substance to the main plot perfectly. I'm being deliberately oblique in my review here for obvious reasons but it would be remiss of me to not give them some kind of a mention, even just in passing. Indeed, there were some characters that were full of surprises when push came to shove.
It's dark and claustrophobic and very very compelling reading that really did grip me from the first page and kept me hostage throughout. I'm glad I read it on a day off work with nothing really pressing in my life that couldn't wait til I'd finished. There are absolutely no wasted words or superfluous padding and the pacing is darned near perfect for the genre. Luckily the author did give me the odd lighter moment for me to have a bit of a breather and prepare myself for the uptick in tension that followed.
All in all, a great follow up to what was one of my favourite debuts of last year. I'm definitely keeping my eye open for the next one. My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

I'm a little torn with this book. On one hand, I read it in 2 days, because I really wanted to know what was going to happen. There was a permanent sense of threat that made you want to keep reading. I suppose you can't ask for much more than that in a thriller. But on the other hand, and I hate to say it, it just felt poorly written. I'm hoping it's in the early stages with more editing to come? The characters were flat and I found their personalities pretty dull or non existent. For the subject matter, this plot line is done a lot, yet there was nothing really unique about this story. The writing told too much, didn't show a lot, and I felt as the reader I was being treated like I was stupid/slow. Too much unnecessary detail like, "I pass Minehead, where I used to live." Even though we've been told several times she lives in Minehead...

Overall this story has a lot of potential, but writing quality not so special.

Kaitlyn Best agrees to meet Alex, her once school crush, after he accepts her Facebook friends request and they begin a sizzling long distance romance after their single night of lovemaking. The only problem is that they live miles apart and Alex is really busy with his businesses. They exchange loving messages and FaceTime each other but it’s not the same as being together, so their blooming romance is carried out online. When Kaitlyn discovers she is pregnant, Alex is delighted and enthusiastic about starting their life together as soon as it can be arranged. Kaitlyn is wrapped up in their romance and she dreams of settling down, a fresh start, a handsome, romantic husband and a perfect family of their own. She agrees to move in with him in his house in the Lake District and at first she is blissfully happy. The one drawback is that their house is in an isolated, bleak location and she has no friends. Alex is wrapping her up in cotton wool, protecting her, but soon she feels smothered and lonely, especially with the long hours Alex works and his frequent business trips. Nevertheless she puts her concerns aside because she really does love him and they marry just before their daughter Chloe is born. It’s been a real whirlwind romance.
Alex adores Chloe from the very moment she is born and is a doting, hands-on father, but his loving personality towards his new wife morphs into a person Kaitlin doesn’t know. He is more controlling than ever and incredibly jealous. He wants Kaitlyn all for himself and does not want to share her at all. He puts on an act in front of his friends but when they are alone Kaitlyn feels wary and as if she is always treading on egg shells. What’s more his rages blow up from nowhere. She can no longer make excuses for him: he’s definitely not the man she married. She realises that she must get out as soon as she has an opportunity to leave. She has made the biggest mistake in her life and her dreams of domestic bliss have turned into her worst nightmares. She is concerned for her safety and Chloe’s as well. He has pushed her too far with his bullying and aggression. He has also kept secrets from her which are destined to become a veritable Pandora’s Box when they are spilt.
So this compelling, dark domestic noir continues with superb storytelling, beautifully crafted characters and plenty of terrifying twists in the story. Kaitlyn’s position feels so real and claustrophobic. You feel her anguish and terror as she runs for her life. But Alex will not let her go. She cannot hide and he is definitely more than keen to track her down at whatever cost and return her to the Lake District. This psychological thriller is emotional, full of suspense and unanswered questions. I loved it and recommend it to you as an excellent read. I received a complimentary copy of this novel from publisher HQ Digital through my membership of NetGalley. Thank you for my copy sent in return for an honest and unbiased review. This story was absorbing and a real page-turner. I’m very glad that I had an opportunity to read it. It’s a 4.5* review from me.

I quite enjoyed this book , not as many twists and turns as I usually like but it motored along quite nicely . The character grew on me but there really wasn’t anything new about the story , it’s been told a few times . Worth a read though

The title sends shivers down your spine before even starting to read this gripping novel. Reconnecting with an old friend from school Kaitlyn moves away from everything and everyone she has ever known to start again, with a man she hasn't seen for 20 years. Isolated and pregnant, Kaitlyn starts to wonder if Alex is really as wonderful as he first appeared to be but now they're married and their baby is due any day.

He Will Find You sums up the danger of falling for someone you may not really know and was a complete page-turner from start to finish. What is more scary though, is the fact that this sort of scenario is entirely believable thanks to the advent of technology and the speed with which dating online leads us to leap into a relationship.

This is the second book by Diane Jeffrey that I've read into the small hours, unable to put it down, and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Hey, the title ‘He Will Find You’ hits you as soon as you read it and you get an idea just by those 4 words that this is going to a tense psychological thriller....it conjures up a picture of what lies ahead...

Kaitlyn is bored...she sends a friend request on Facebook to Alex, an old school friend she sees on mutual friends threads, she had a ‘thing’ for him....he accepts....after a string of emails ( that you see ) and FaceTime chats they meet and have a ‘one night stand’ in a hotel......from that moment Kaitlyns life will never be the same again...Alex is not as he seems, he couldn’t be further away from the image he gives people....Kaitlyn finds this out as her life turns into one big living nightmare, her heaven has turned to hell..
You are drawn into the story by the authors great writing style and feel the pain, horror, worry, anxiety and determination of Kaitlyn as she faces the opposite of what she expected her ‘happily ever after’ to be
The book has many twists and turns and keeps you hooked throughout, you never quite know what is going to happen except that ‘He Will Find You’......
Gripping, scary, atmospheric and worryingly believable, I loved it 😃
10/10 5 stars
