This book had potential. I loved the idea about reading about life in the 60s/70s and the cover photo is phenomenal. However the writing was not and it just fell short.

While I was eager to read this memoir, due to it's subject matter and it's incredibly creative cover image, I was none too impressed with the dialogue and how the book is written. That is not to say that the entire book is entirely boring. There are sections when Skelley shares details of her upbringing that are enlightening and intriguing. While this book isn't my cup of tea in the way that it's written, it might be just what others want and need to read.

This book was hard to read and I normally love memoirs. The premise was great, but the writing style made it a book that I could not get into. I had to force myself to finish it.
