This was a cute story and I can't wait to read what happens next. The art work is amazing and looks very life-like.

Nola’s mother has passed away and she receives from her father for her eight birthday her mother’s music box. The music box is magical and takes Nola to another world called Pandorient where she meets Andrea. Andrea at first thinks Nola is her mother and asks for her help to remedy her sick mother. Nola comes to find out that Nola’s mother and Andrea’s were friends.
As Nola tries to help make Andrea’s mother more comfortable, she meets Andrea’s brother, Igor. In the process of trying to make up some tea for the mother, they realize the water in the building is what is making her ill. This leads to the three of them investigating how Andrea & Igor’s mother is getting poisoned.
The story is very imaginative, quick paced but still sweet. A lot of interesting characters and absolutely beautiful illustrations. Highly recommend! Great for younger readers.

The story follows a little girl called Nola, who receives a music box from her father on her Birthday. The music box appears to be a magic box that later on drags her into it! As she inspects the box she sees a little girl that is asking her for help. Nola reluctantly agrees and crawls into the music box after she shrinks and meets the mysterious girl, Andrea. Andrea asks Nola to help her sick mum get better. As the story evolves Andrea learns that Nola is not the girl she and her mother were looking for, though she is great help. Nola meets Andrea's brother, Igor and together all three are ready to help the sick mother to get better and so their adventurous journey begins!

The art is gorgeous! I had so much fun reading this beautiful graphic novel.
The story is good, the characters are lovely and I could connect with Nola in more parts than I can count.
I would definitely recommend this to younger readers, they would enjoy it a lot.

This charming children's book has some beautiful artwork and a very fast paced, action packed story.
Little Nola is given a present on her eight birthday, a pretty music box. But it appears to be a magic box!
The premise of the story is good, appealing to the endless imagination of kids - the idea magic and adventure in the most mundane of objects is something that resonates with all children.
It's a fast paced adventure, with little time for stopping and thinking about exactly what is going on. For an adult, this is jarring. But for a child, it would not be noticed, as kids often accept incredible circumstances with no fuss.
There are some subtle ideas that plant good morals within - an octopus style resident that loves a bird style resident, but have to hide it as they are not allowed to love who they wish, and a fox man who is creating an illegal substance to the upset of all around him. Very carefully done and not glaringly obvious, it would allow a child to ask a parent more if they were confused.
Stunning artwork, a joy to read.
Four stars only as I felt it was a little too rip roaring, the pacing was a little too frenetic.
