A well written book, intricate plot full of twists and turns with a surprising ending. Fully enjoyed and found it a real page turner that was hard to put down...excellent.

When I came across No Way Out, I wanted to read it at once and it did not disappoint. Cara Hunter’s solid Adam Fawley series just gets better with every book. I was surprised at the ease with which I could recall her detectives and where they had left off at the end of book 2.
I find it easy to surrender to this page turning entertainment. There were times when this read felt long because of the frustrations of fruitless enquiries and dead-ends, followed by reliance on lucky breaks, but this makes it somehow more realistic.
The plot is complex and gets even more involved as time passes. I am happy to admit I did not see it coming. DI Fawley is a series I will stay with.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for a honest unbiased review.
First book I've read by this author and certainly won't be the last.
Off to putrchase the two previous books in featuring this character as thoroughly enjoyable read.
If you like your police/crime books then this one is for you.

I haven't read the first two books in the series but that didn't stop me reading and enjoying this book. Very good story

Cara Hunters books are the ones that I wait patiently for as I’ve read the first 2 and the third has certainly made it worthwhile.

A devastating house fire sees a family ripped apart but where is the father. Missing and no clue to where he is, DI Fawley and his team must gather information and evidence to see what and who caused the devastation and where the father is. What’s happened to him?

I loved the layout of the book, including the fire reports, medical examiner reports and even the social media tweets. You get to know the characters more in each book so it feels as though you know them personally.

The book flows beautifully and it’s full of intense moments which makes you not wanting to put the book down.

If you want a thriller book, twists and turns, here you are. A very good whodunnit book. Praise to Cara Hunter. Thank you for another amazing book. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Good Novel. Third in the series and although I hadn't read the first two it was easy to follow. Sometimes I found the number of characters hard to follow.

When tackling a devastating house fire the fire brigade find 2 children, 1 is already dead the other is critically ill but where are their parents?
It soon becomes clear the fire was deliberate and the police appeal for the parents to come forward, the mother is found but the father is still missing and not responding to police appeals.
DI Adam Fawley and his team set about investigating who would want to kill a seemingly innocent family. As they look into the father they discover that he was not only facing possible disciplinary action at work but he was also in financial trouble, is that enough for someone to want to kill his whole family?
Flashbacks that show important events in the months leading to the fire give the reader some insight into the family's life and what could have lead to the fire.
When the truth unfolded I was shocked by what really happened, I hadn't expected that!

I really enjoyed this gripping novel from Cara Hunter and was kept guessing the whole way to the end. While it was the third in a series, I wasn’t left too lost by the personal stories which had continued from previous books, but it has left me wanting to read them!

This is the third novel in the series featuring DI Fawley. It's the first I have read and, although it is fairly easy to follow, there were a lot of references to previous cases and relationships between characters. It also took me a while to figure out who was who on the fairly large police team.

This story is about a horrific house fire that kills members of a family in Oxford. As crime scene investigations continue, Fawley and his team have to try to track down the family members and work out the motive for an arson attack.

I did find that this book kept me interested and reading, although some of the subject matter is quite sad and depressing. I liked the shifts in perspective and the inclusion of reports and emails (even if the formatting of these didn't work brilliantly on my Kindle - I assume this would be fixed for the final version of the book).

Overall, this was a book that kept me guessing (incorrectly!) right to the end. A twisty and clever detective story, although one that is actually very sad too.

DID YOU SEE ANYTHING THE NIGHT THE ESMOND FAMILY WERE MURDERED!!

I don't know why but I struggled through the first couple of chapters, I just couldn't seem to get the characters straight and kept getting them confused, possibly just me.

Once I started getting into the book, I could not put it down, I liked the way it was written, the twists and turns did not stop, just as I thought I had got who did it, the plot turned and I was left bamboozled again!

I'm not sure I liked all the characters but that's OK, gives a book balance, I was also a bit puzzled about the girl who said she had been sexually harassed, that part seemed to just fizzle out??

On the whole a good read, would read more in this series

I have read the first 2 “Adam Fawley” books by Cara Hunter and enjoyed them immensely. This surpassed my expectations. Although it covers a distressing storyline concerning a fatal fire in a family home, it is also a multi faceted and richly plotted story. There are many characters and the timeline moves back and forth but I did not have any problems following the plot. Unlike others, I liked the use of social media and news inserts, it made it seem modern and relevant. Several twists and turns, it kept me guessing to the end.
My only criticism would be the amount of errors in the typesetting, although annoying it did not distract from my overall enjoyment.

I would like to thank the author, publisher and netgalley for a free copy of this digital book in return for my honest and unbiased review.

A horrible subject matter, with children's lives being lost in fire, one of the worst ways imaginable.

Cara Hunter deals with it well and leaves the reader angered at the thought that a parent could even think about this as an option. Then she throws in a curveball - maybe it wasn't them, but then again, maybe it was....

Head spinning, the reader is drawn in and the story flows.

A really well written book, with no obvious guilty party served up.

Excellent read. I’ve read the whole series and each one doesn’t disappoint. Living in Oxford also makes it enjoyable as I relate to the setting. Look forward to the next.

Yet another edge of your seat, twisting and turning gripping book by Cara Hunter. As with each of her books, I’ve convinced myself I know “whodunnit” and again, it changes every chapter.
A complete different again but with the same undercurrent of detectives and enough of their own storylines to keep them familiar without them taking anything away from the main story.

Cara Hunter is a writer whose books I look out for, and this one was just as good as the previous two.

A fire has killed a woman and her two children, and the race is on to find who was responsible. I found the characters believable and engaging, and the way the police officers' characters has developed along the way makes you feel for them and the urgency of the investigation.

Highly recommended.

One of the saddest and most painful books that I've read in a while. Also one of the best. I should have been doing lots of things today, but I couldn't, I had to get to the end of this book. It's a book about pain, of depression, of betrayal - in other words of life in the real world. Though as it needs to be in a book it gives an extreme version of what can happen. Innocents killed, but who by?

I was very eager and excited to start reading this book, after I had read the blurb.

The story flows beautifully and is full of intense moments that make you so eager to continue on. The characters are well written and engaging.

I really could not recommend this book more to anyone,.

DI Adam Fawley deserves all the praise in the world. He is one of my all time favorite detectives right now in the crime thriller world.

This is the first novel by Cara Hunter that I have read, and based on the excellent reviews of her previous book, In The Dark, which I have already purchased but have yet to read., I was pleased to be given the opportunity to receive an ARC for this one; Thank you Netgalley and the Publishers.
I found this to be a very enjoyable and gripping read with many twists along the way. The characters were easy to identify with, the victims heartbreakingly so and although I correctly deciphered some of the clues, there were more that I didn't see coming! On a negative note, I would have preferred not to read the newspaper headline inserts, as,
I, personally, felt they were not necessary to the overall reading experience, and was in fact distracted by them. However, I still found this to be a cracking whodunnit and would highly recommend this novel to others.

D I Fawley investigates when a mother and two children die in a house fire. It quickly emerges that the fire was set deliberately and the search is on for the father, who is missing. The father's brother returns from a sailing voyage to contribute. Multiple twists and turns keep you guessing as to who the killer might be. A slightly unlikely throwback character from the past is akey to elucidating the plot. It will keep you engaged and entertained.
