This was a cute fun read about life as a mom. I do not have children, but was still able to relate to the story. I thought it was well written. Perfect for a lazy day on the couch or a beachy ready!
I found this book to be a silly, predictable story about a young British mom who is not ready to grow up. To be honest, I was unable to finish it, because I found it difficult to suspend belief enough to accept the extent of Frankie's selfishness.
This is a cute story and has characters that we all meet at the school gates, for example the PTA ladies in this book does mirror my school's PTA and even my own personal experiences of it all! I did giggle at some of the funny moments in the story whereas other points in the story were quite sad. If you're looking for a light read that is not to taxing to follow then this is a ok book.
I Will Survive was a brilliant, laugh out loud read. It’s the kind of novel I read purely for pleasure and don’t have a lot of thoughts on the novel. I loved the characters, the writing, it really is the perfect read for fans of Why Mummy Drinks. Pippa has written such a wonderful novel and even I could relate to the characters despite not being a mother myself. I highly recommend this book - and I dare you not to sing I Will Survive every time you pick the book up.
I found myself laughing and smiling through this book! Such a fun summer read as it details the evolution of women's friendships.
I think this's one of the funniest book I read in 2018. Even if I'm not a mother there were part I was able to relate and laughed a lot.
The book is really written and the plot interesting.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for this ARC
I Will Survive by Pippa James is definitely a true recollection of almost every mom's life.
It tells a story of few moms and how they manage their kids, husbands, relatives and society.
There were some moms that were so unlike me and I had to try really hard to see things from their perspective and understand them. There were so many situations that every mom on this planet including me has been through.
Full of laugh out loud moments, many cry your eyes out moments as well.
I must admit I found their struggles a bit too close for comfort and they made me slightly sad. It broke my heart how hard they want to fit in, how hard they try to be loved and appreciated yet are so afraid to be themselves and fight for what they want.
Deceptively light read that will touch your heart and make you remember how it was. How difficult, how crazy and how exhausting yet no one of us would change it for the world.
Great read for all moms both past, present and future.
The struggle of being a mom is real. Whether it be a single mum or with both parents in the house. As a mum, this book is very relate-able. There are so many type of mum out there and you can read the book and judge Frankie for who she is or who she is not; however you cannot say that she's a bad mum. This book would make a nice movie to show the struggle. It was an easy read with real life feel to it.
Brilliantly funny, entertaining and damn amazing. Never heard of this author before but boy can she write a novel! It was great and even though I'm not a mum (yet), I still related to some of the parts. The cover is just as chaotic as the story! Loved it.
