4 Star Review Ensnared (The Accidental Billionaire’s #1) by J.S.Scott
J.S. Scott is a new author to me and I have absolutely no idea why that is.
I was intrigued by this story line and jumped at the opportunity to read and review. When Jade Sinclair becomes a billionaire overnight she has no clue how to act, or how to deal with the people she now comes into contact with, which includes Eli Stone, a man who annoys her on numerous levels..
Jade is a wildlife conservationist and despite her misgivings she agrees to an unlikely truce with Eli. Jade is going to teach Eli basic survival skills and in exchange Eli will help her learn how to move in the rich and elite circles she and her siblings now find themselves in.
However Eli is determined to that Jade will fall for his charms even as Jade is determined not too. I actually really liked Eli, I know reading the blurb he came off as an arrogant and snobby jerk but there was more to him then meets the eye.
I found myself charmed by this story and did not want to put this book down, it was one of those, just one more chapter reads, if you know what I mean.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley and look forward to reading more in the series.
I absolutely loved Ensnared! I laughed and I cried. Eli Stone is an amazing man that trys to keep aprt of himself hidden. When he sees Jade Sinclair he wants her. Jade is struggling with this new life she has been given and Eli steps in to teach her the ropes. Eli never planned on falling in love but thats exactly what happened. Jade is blossoming under Eli's help. When tragedy strikes can Eli move past the guilt and realize that he is absolutely addicted to his butterfly. Jade is learning that she is enough and loves Eli with everything she has. Can these two have a happy ending or will guilt and tragedy keep them apart.
When Jade Sullivan comes into a tremendous amount of money she approaches Billionaire Eli Stone to ask to buy a plot of land he owns. He turns her down flat but is fascinated by Jade and starts to pursue her. She ignores him but eventually they come together for a no strings attached fun time fling but life has a way of turning this time together into something else entirely.
In Ensnared we get to know a very insecure Jade who doesn’t know what to do with herself or her new found money. When Eli Stone offers to help her navigate the “waters” of finance she takes him up on the offer and she becomes a very mature, secure woman. Having Eli in her life doesn’t hurt with her newfound confidence. When a misunderstanding happens she takes the opportunity to grow and find out what she is really made of.
I never miss an opportunity to read about one of J S Scott’s billionaire alpha men. She always finds a new and interesting plot for the guys she is famous for writing about. We are introduced to strong, sometimes flawed, alphas who fall hard for the right woman. I thoroughly enjoyed this start to a new series and look forward to the others to follow.
Jade Sinclair is finally done with her school and working on finding her place in her field of study. Eli Stone has a piece of land perfect for Jade’s project with wildlife conservation but Eli won’t sell. The chemistry between these two is off the charts from the start. Now sit back and watch the magic happen. Love this new extension of the Sinclairs!
This is Ensnared, book 1 of the new series The Accidental Billionaires, written by JS Scott. I love that this new series is about the West coast Sinclair family and it will keep giving us glimpses of our favorite East coast Sinclair’s. Jade Sinclair has always been the ugly duckling in her own mind. When Eli Stone expresses his interest in bedding her, she must decide if she can do the “sex without strings” option that he offers. Is sex really worth risking getting her heart broken? Not in her mind. Let’s see how far Eli will go to convince her that it’s worth another try. It’s gonna be a great series because I can’t wait for the next book!
Wow what a captivating and beautiful love story from J.S. Scott!! I love that Ms Scott can wove a story so beautiful and can keep me glued to my kindle from start to finish!! Read this book in one sitting and want to reread it already!! So happy that we have a new Sinclair family to love and I look forward to each book!! You will love Jade Sinclair and you will swoon over the casanova Eli Stone!! They both have a past to over come but they both needed each other to heal. Definitely one click this wonderful book and continue to enjoy this fascinating family!! I can see Aiden is the next book and I can not wait to devour it!!
This was a very good book. It’s the first book in a new Sinclair spin-off Series. It has all the feels. Eli broke my heart a few times. I really liked his character and Jade is so darn feisty. I received an advance review copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The first in the new The Accidental Billionaire series by J. S. Scott was one of those books that pull you in. An unusual storyline, we find this series about the part of the Sinclair family that became billionaires literally overnight. Jade is daunted by becoming rich and seeks out Billionaire Eli Stone to help her find her way in the elite class of people she finds herself surrounded by. Despite the promise she made to herself not to fall for Eli, she can’t help be attracted to him and it is apparent he feels the same. With commitment issues, Jade soon discovers there is more to Eli than just the super-rich, snob persona that Eli displays.
A great start to the new series that gives you the ups and downs, twists and turns of true love.
I really liked this story and can’t wait for more in this new series! I really like Jade. She is very down to earth despite having become a billionaire accidentally through her brothers. She loves her job with the wildlife conservation and doesn’t stop just because she has money now. She and Eli meet and the chemistry is off the charts. I love them together!! Thankfully Eli is far more than he appears to be and I just fell in love with his passion. Both characters make this a very enjoyable read.
Thank you to the publisher/Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!
At first this seemed like your typical billionaire, alpha romance. The heroine, Jade, grew up poor with loving siblings who helped her and her twin sister when both their mother had died. Then suddenly, the siblings discovered that they were the products of a bigamous relationship of an SOB billionaire, but fortunately, their half siblings had set aside billions to share with the poor relations. So she’s also a billionaire, but doesn’t feel like one. As she tells us, over and over. I get it that it’s a tough transition, but it was hard to build up sympathy for her. She has a PhD as a wildlife conservationist, but can’t seem to find a job. Hello? She’s a freaking billionaire who doesn’t know how to spend her money. Why would it take so long [Spoiler alert] for anyone around her to suggest that she spend her newfound wealth on establishing her own lab?
She comes up against Eli Stone, a seemingly cold-hearted billionaire who tells her right off that he’s interested in her physically. She resists him for a while and then gives in and finds out that he’s actually an alpha with a heart of gold. Sure.
It’s all a fairytale fantasy, but if billionaire romances are your thing, you’ll enjoy this.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
Ensnared is the first book in the new series. Jade, a wildlife conservationist who suddenly became rich, tries to find herself in the new world of the rich. While trying to strike a deal to buy a land to preserve wildlife Jade meets Eli, mega rich, arrogant and sexy snob.
Generally I like the book. For sure you will be pleased with the romance between the characters. I really liked the heroine - it is not so often that you have character that has extensive knowledge on a given subject. Moreover she it not typical woman, She's rather a "tomboy" who lacks confidence in her actions other than related to her job and passion. Only later she discovers herself and gains confidence.
The only thing that I didn't like was the pace. For me more dynamic turn of events would be better.
In general I give 4,5 stars.
”ARC provided through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.”
If you love the original Sinclair series then you will absolutely fall for this new one. Ensnared is a fantastic read. Jade is a wildlife conservationist and newly folded into the Sinclair clan and became a billionaire thanks to her savvy half brothers. I love that Jade doesn't change who she is once coming into money. She is still down to Earth and very much still working with her love of wildlife conservation. When she meets up with Eli you can just feel the sparks fly. I love the mystery that is Eli and how he doesn't end up being as he comes off. Eli may be adventurous but he is also an extremely smart billionaire. I love his zest for life and as soon as you discover more about Eli you will understand why. I love the start of this new Sinclair series and how down to Earth these newly minted billionaires are. Jade and Eli will pull you in and take you for a beautiful ride. I can't wait for more from The Accidental Billionaires.
I truly love J.S.Scotts writing. She pulls you into the book and makes you feel everything the characters do.
I have found all of her books enjoyable and this was no exception.
Ensnared was impossible to put down, I found myself holding my breath in parts and my heart racing in others. This Is not a book but an emotional rollercoaster that I didn't want to got off of.
I can't wait for the next one!
voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Life is so much bigger than all of us. Even at it's most painful, there are lessons to be learned. Ensnared grabbed me at hello. Scott guides readers into a storm of emotion that never stops being beautiful, but has underlying currents of turbulence. Jade and Eli blend sweet and sensual into their little tango of love. They are two halves learning how to be whole. Eli is a man trapped within two worlds. The geeky nerd with a thirst for knowledge and the extreme athlete searching for something more. Jade is a woman with her own brand of personal baggage. Thrust into a world where she doesn't quite fit, she's looking for a place to belong. People come into our lives just when we need them, but never realize as much. Ensnared is an inspirational tale of the healing power of love. Like the most captivating of duets Ensnared wraps itself around the heart in an unforgettable way.
I saw this on Netgally and started reading it on a whim, and I’m glad I did. The author is completely new to me, so I really had no idea if I was going to like the story, or the writing.
In the beginning I was a little confused because how on earth do you become an accidental billionaire? As I got to know Jade a little bit more, the accidental billionaire was still in the back of my mind, but her character was pushed to the front. Eli I liked right away, even though he did act like your standard billionaire bad boy that are a dime a dozen in books like these. I was very pleasantly surprised when he took on more character development and took a few steps away from that typical persona.
My favorite part of this book though was the duel point of views. I tend to shy away from first person stories because they are generally told from that one view point, usually the female, and I love being in the male characters head.
Overall I really enjoyed Ensnared, and it left me wanting a next book in the series. I’m definitely looking forward to checking out this authors back list.
This is the first book about the Southern California Sinclair's. They are a newly discovered and now rich siblings to the East Coast Sinclairs. This book stars Jade who is Brooke's twin sister (who married Liam in the last book of the East Coast Sinclair's).
Jade is RICH and she is also jobless and lost, she is a wildlife conservationist but has no idea how to be rich. Enter Eli Stone, a rish globetrotting adventurist playboy who Jade meets as she wants to buy some land from him. He is lust with her and instead tries to convince her to date him, when that doesn't work, he offers to teach her the tricks of being rich.
This was a fun and HOT story. Eli is very sexy and he wants Jade. The two actually really get to know the other until something happens and Eli realises he has some very strong feelings for Jade. Meanwhile Jade has to learn to fight for her man.
This was a very fun story and I cannot wait to read more about these Sinclairs.
I have loved the Sinclair family ever since Dante and Sarah’s story in No Ordinary Billionaire. So when I saw this book was the beginning of the West Coast Sinclairs, I snapped it up. This story is about Jade Sinclair and Eli Stone. Jade is the twin sister of Brooke from Only a Millionaire. We last heard the West Coast Sinclair siblings had just became overnight billionaires. Jade is actually not taking this change too well, she is feeling out of sorts in this new world of the wealthy and actually feeling a bit guilty. So when the opportunity to learn from Eli, who was born wealthy, she reluctantly decided to go for it. Eli has not made it a secret that he wants Jade in his bed so he will do whatever he can to get her there. Unfortunately he does not believe in commitment and Jade is not willing to be another notch on his bedpost.
I am not quite sure how I felt about their story. Eli has most of the qualities I love in an alpha, he’s determined, he is possessive, and very protective but the problem I had was we really didn’t know what the reasons for his not wanting to commit until really late in the book. Even if he kept saying all he wanted was sex, but his actions showed that was not completely true, he was considerate and very sweet to Jade and when the opportunity came, he didn’t take it. I just wanted to know what his issues were sooner.
As for Jade, I loved her passion for wildlife conservation and that she was the kick-ass survivalist. I felt sad for the way she felt about herself but as the story went on and she started to take charge of her new circumstances, she grew to see her worth.
There was some conflict that separated the couple for a couple weeks and I was frustrated with how they got there but I was happy it got resolved. So all in all this was a good story, I am actually looking forward to Jade and Brooke’s brothers stories, especially Aiden and Skye,
I had a hard time with how many stars to give, I finally settled at 3.5 and rounded up to 4. I did have a hard time with Eli and his commitment issues and not knowing why and even though they got their HEA I wasn’t really sold on how they got there, Even with all this, I did like Eli’s reaction to Jade when he wasn’t being a jerk and I did love the relationships between the siblings.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
