This book was so intense. I loved the way it kept me at the edge and wanting to know how fast I could read it. I thought Rachel was a great character and I was rooting for her to find the answers. I am so ready to read more from this author. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.

I found this story difficult to get into, maybe because I haven’t read the first of the series. I found the characters difficult to understand; I didn’t know their history. The way it was trans-Atlantic was a great idea, especially as it demonstrated how different methods of treating families of victims and more importantly how crimes are investigated.

4.5 Stars - This was my first Detective Rachel Prince novel, and I didn't feel lost in the story ! I still want to read Lola is Missing and Now She's Gone, but it really didn't spoil the other books for me.

In the beginning of the book I had trouble following a bit because of all the British terms and slang, but eventually I got the hang of it. I used to not even be able to read British books, but I've gotten really used to them by now so I was a bit surprised I had a hard time understanding.

After I got used to the language, I couldn't put the book down. It definitely was a page turner for me, and I loved how some chapters included the killer actions and thoughts. I kept me more engaged ! I'm also a big fan of police procedural so I really loved getting to know Rachel Prince and how she just couldn't ignore the case, even though she wasn't suppose to be on the case. I really feel in love with Rachel Prince and cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

However, the reason this isn't 5 stars for me, is the reasons behind the killings and the mental state of the killer. Obviously, there never is a good reason for killing, but in this novel particularly, I thought it was ridiculous and pointless reason. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but in my opinion I would of liked something else.

Overall, highly recommend and can't wait to read the next one already!

This is a fast-paced mystery crime thriller which may not be a page-turner but nonetheless got a decent plot and execution. Told in Rachel’s perspective interspersed with some of the killer’s, aside from knowing what our heroine is up against, it also describes the MO. Rachel is a solid main character and I found myself warming to her immediately. She’s determined and won’t back down to anyone, not even to her boss.

I like how the case progress and I appreciate the thorough details that go with it. It was all very interesting and would make you think twice about opening your home to a stranger, even if you’re getting money out of it. Perfect Girls has enough action, mystery, and thrill to keep me entertained until the end. I maybe wasn’t surprised with finding out who the killer is but there’s still some surprise surrounding it which is actually pretty good. A solid crime thriller overall.

In the third of this riveting series, Detective Rachel Prince is sent to America to investigate the murder of a British girl, Phoebe Stiles. The case seems to be wrapped up quickly but Rachel has strong suspicions that the police have arrested the wrong person. Another case is unearthed which has similarities to Phoebe's murder and then another body is found.

Rachel's boss instructs her to return to London but Rachel can't get Phoebe's murder out of her head and takes annual leave to return to America and find the killer.

This time Rachel works mainly without her partner DS Brickall who is left back in the UK.  I loved Brickall's character and the pair worked well together, the banter between them had provided some lighter moments in the previous book, which I really enjoyed.

The writing flows really well and there are plenty of twists which keep you completely gripped. I enjoyed seeing Rachel's character develop, her steely determination and headstrong attitude is even more apparent in this book. The chapters where the story is narrated by the killer really increase the suspense and the ending has you sitting on the edge of your seat.

My Rating: 4.5 Stars

Why are young, beautiful women dying? What do they all have in common? It starts with twenty-five-year-old Phoebe Stiles. Little did she know that simply opening her apartment door would result in the end of her life. Phoebe is an English woman living in LA and Detective Rachel Prince of London has gone overseas to work the crime. This case proves to be extremely dangerous to Rachel for many reasons. While Rachel is striving to get to the bottom of things, another woman is found brutally murdered. Can Rachel stop the killer?

In this fast-moving story by Allison James, Rachel will not leave a single stone unturned - even after returning to London to work on other cases. She has a friend of her from Interpol following her leads, but she finds that she just cannot stay away. When Rachel gets a little too close to answers, her very life is in jeopardy, and this is not said lightly.

Perfect Girls is the third book in the Rachel Prince series. While this story serves quite well as a standalone novel, I am quite pleased that I had the opportunity to read and review the first two books. I feel that I got to know Rachel as an individual and as a detective. It was easy to see her compulsive nature when it came to solving these murders. At first Rachel was sent back home to her job as there may not have been an apparent connection to the murders. Rachel strongly believed otherwise. She is treading on very treacherous grounds, however, as the police are certain they have already found the killer.

What a fast-paced and thrilling read! Rachel is on the go, whether in London or in the US, determined to find the true killer. She does so almost at the cost of her own life, thus I was kept on the edge of my seat while reading this book! Maybe she wasn't the wisest of detectives at time with the risks that she took, but still this story held a lot of merit and I am glad that I had the opportunity to read it. This is an excellent series. Allison James is a stunning writer and I definitely look forward to reading book four. It will be quite interesting to see where Rachel's partnership with Mark Brickall goes.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC to review in exchange for an honest opinion.

This was a cracking good crime thriller! The third in the Detective Rachel Prince series, it’s the first one I’ve read, and I will definitely be going back to read the first two. Det. Prince is a flawed heroine; she apparently has a tendency to think romantically about people she works with (according to references to previous events), tends to be obsessive, and seems off-balance in some of her familial relationships. All of this makes her more human, and not the usual “superhero cop” who solves a case easily. The story unfolds in “real time,” with the actions of Rachel and co-workers interspersed with brief perspectives from the perpetrator of the crimes. This lends authenticity to the story, and the glimpses of the criminal mind slowly draw the reader deeper into the investigation. The author has researched well; the description of travel and locations are accurate and vivid. The time constraint that Rachel is working under compels the reader to keep up with Rachel’s sense of urgency. The crimes at the heart of the story are timely, especially in the age of social media saturation. Not really a spoiler, but you probably won’t look at a certain growing trend in travel the same way ever again. A great read, and I look forward to adding this series to my “follow” lists. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and the author for a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this easy to read thriller.
The characters are likable and the plot is strong with all the usual twists and turns that this author is becoming renown for.
Still managing to be just grisly enough in places, it's a great weekend read for fans of police procedural thrillers.

How did we get to book 3 in the Rachel Prince series? Some excellent writing and good character development. This is a cracking police procedural and a great crime thriller rolled into one. A good solid plot and I love the dynamics between Rachel and Mark, her DS. I would recommend this series of books to lovers of crime thrillers. My thanks to Net Galley for my copy. reviewed on Amazon, Facebook and Goodreads.

I’ve not read the other two books in this series and I’m not sure that I will. It wasn’t that this book was bad. I actually liked the writing style and how fast-paced the story was. I just felt the actual premis and unfolding of this particular story was a bit far-fetched so it took some of the enjoyment out of this read for me. However I’ve heard good things about this series as a whole, so maybe it was just the fantastical storyline itself that made this book just ok to me.

Once again DI Rachel Prince does not disappoint. This time she has to go to America for a case of a murdered British aspiring actress. It seems not to be a problem to solve the murder for the American police and after a few days Rachel flies back home. But she has a gut feeling that there is more to this case and that the wrong person is sent to prison. Rachel decides to go back to America and finds the real murder on her own. Even Brickall is staying behind, working on a different task. It doesn’t take Rachel long to make progress, but when she thinks she has figured it out, everything goes wrong and Rachel has to fear for her life, hoping someone will come to her rescue in time.
I couldn’t put the book down, was to emerged in to the story to think of anything else than finding out what really had happened and if the help would come in time. I highly recommend the DI Rachel Prince series!
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture!

This was one rollercoaster of a read!

Rachel Prince finds herself in the USA, trying to figure out what happened to a beautiful British girl who was murdered there. Her stubborn refusal to let go of the case, leads her to to enlist the help of two very different men, and her travelling all over the country. Meanwhile, at home, her work colleague is acting in a peculiar way. Who knows why?

I found myself reading faster and faster, in an effort to find out who the murderer was and how they had managed to fool so many people. Very interesting book indeed.

I gave it 4.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

With thanks to Bookoutre for this ARC in exchange for an open and honest review.

Detective Inspector Rachel Prince and her colleague DS Mark Brignall work for the International division of the National Crime Agency.

Rachel was asked to go to L.A. to liaise with the investigation of British actress/reality star Pheobe Stiles. Pheobe had moved to L.A. in the hope of making in big in Tinsletown. However she had trouble finding work and her last job was for a hair commercial. Months later Pheobe was murdered and thrown into a dumpster outside Macy's.

Through facial mapping Rachel and her US colleague Rob find out that the girl in the hair commercial was not Pheobe but a double. Her boyfriend was arrested and charged with her murder, however when Rachel discovered another young woman was murdered in another part of the US she doubted they had the right killer.

Rachel had to go home but was obsessed with the case. When she discovered Melissa an ex beauty queen and her boyfriend where murdered , Rachel used her annual leave and went straight back to the U.S. to investigate.....

The story was intwined with the POV of the killer who found their victims on the Casa Mia house website.

Rachel Prince is one of my favourite female detectives. In Alison's second book Now You are Gone we saw the softer, maternal sight of Rachel. In Perfect Girls Rachel was back to her slightly aloof but professional self.

I think Perfect GIrls was the best in the series yet, but I did miss her banter with Mark. The book was fast paced with never a dull moment. The chapters were short, screaming out to read one more chapter.

Time stood still for me when the killer described the reason for the murders, I was hooked.

I highly recommend this five star read. I look forward to book 4.

Detective Rachel Prince is back again in yet another addictive, murder mystery. The case begins with the murder of Phoebe Stiles in the US. Rachel Prince is asked to look into the case because Phoebe is a UK citizen. Soon, another young woman turns up dead. Rachel suspects that there is a connection. However, Phoebe’s case seems to have been solved and Rachel is sent back home because the next victim isn’t English. She is still convinced that the case is far from solved.

The villain in this story really stood out for me. This person was cold, calculating and had quite a unique MO. It’s the kind of villain whose motives are hard to guess. Why were the victims being selected? Why were the murders so specific and what was up with that crazy signature left at each scene? I can’t say much about this because you need to experience it for yourself to fully appreciate the complexity and appeal of the case. I know that this might sound like an odd way of describing a serial killer but this person was strangely fascinating. I looked forward to their narrative and the crazy, emotionless way they went about their crimes.

I have always enjoyed reading about Rachel. She is an interesting character and I love following her cases. I really wish that we could have seen more of her sidekick, Brickall in this story. I also didn’t care much about the internal politics of investigating the case and the jurisdiction. At some point, I felt like they actually slowed down the story. However, once Rachel was fully involved, things picked up and the story got more thrilling. I don’t think we have seen Rachel follow leads like this before. Her travel schedule was crazy but that’s the detective she is. She gets answers by all means necessary.

This is yet another great installment to the Detective Rachel Prince series. Although it can be read as a standalone, I think the series is better enjoyed if read in order. The character development from book 1 is part of the appeal. I can’t wait to catch up with Rachel Prince in the next book!

Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley . This is the third book in the Rachel Prince series but these could all be read as stand alones.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this third one was insane, in a good way. We were in completely different territory and had quite the master criminal on our hands. Rachel is as always dogged and determined. Even when she is pretty much kicked off the case she doesn't let it go. I was extremely concerned for her and positions she was putting herself in.

This book was more about the case and we saw very little of Rachel's personal life which is a shame because I do like finding out more about Ms Prince so I hope we will learn more in the next book. It would be nice to see her relationship with Joe a bit more. We caught a few snippets of this throughout this book but I'd love an expansion on this.

The case had many twists and turns and I really enjoyed the ride that Alison took us on with this book. There were many threads and while the criminals trigger is something which may seem like something quite common it shows the extreme reactions and consequences that could well happen.

Alison's writing was gripping and addictive. I was up reading way past my bedtime as determined and as dogged as Rachel to get to the end before I fell asleep.

This is the third book in the series and having enjoyed the previous two I was eager to get stuck into this one. This outing was a little different because the story was mainly set in America with Rachel Prince aiding in a murder investigation involving a British citizen. Like the other books in the series this was a fast paced and easy read. I ended up finishing it in no time! There is good character development and interesting storylines in this series and I am looking forward to reading the next.

'Perfect Girls' is the third book to feature DI Rachel Prince from the National Crime Agency. With the author being a paralegal there is a feeling of authenticity to her novels, and James's ability to weave a complex, gripping and tension-filled story is evident here. As with all series, I feel it's of great benefit to have read the preceding books beforehand, if only to see the development of the investigators. Nevertheless, it works perfectly as a standalone, too.

One of my favourite aspects of this series is the sparseness of the writing - it works very well. There are so many writers today who overwrite novels to their detriment, but, here, the author stays well away from this cardinal sin. Action-packed, with many a good twist incorporated into the tale, however, I enjoyed this one less than the previous books and felt it was not as good quality. That said, it is still an engaging read. It is told in a straightforward, sequential manner, mainly in third person from Rachel's perspective. There are also some chapters where the killer gets his time to shine and where he describes his methodology - this reminded me very much of the wonderful 'The Fourth Monkey' by J. D. Barker, although no one could pull this off as well as he did. There are a few instances where I felt that the story leapt into far-fetched territory, so it does require the reader to overlook those instances in order to enjoy the whole tale.

One of the minor issues I had with this novel was that it revolved very much around Rachel Prince and her behaviour. In the previous books she came across as tenacious, strong and professional, but she seems to have had a personality transplant since we last encountered her. However, I thoroughly appreciated the relationship between Rachel and DS Mark Brickall. Their dynamic is wonderful - they're very good at what they do but have a humourous dialogue which I loved.

Many thanks to Bookouture for an ARC. I was not required to post a review, and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

This is a gripping crime thriller and I really enjoyed it.
Rachel is asked to go out to America as a British girl has been murdered out there.
She starts helping with the investigation but soon it gets under her skin and she doesn’t want to leave. The detective in charge makes an arrest so she’s told to return home, but she knows he’s not got the real killer.
Rachel keeps in touch with the investigation and soon takes holiday so she can go back out there and continue her investigation.
Time is ticking by and Rachel is frustrated that she seems to be the only one trying to find the real killer.
Brickall is on hand via Skype but she soon ends up in trouble and no-one is there to help her.
I did wonder how this book would end and it was a real edge of your seat situation!
This is a great series and I can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Pretty. Spoilt. Popular. Self-absorbed. Entitled.
These are the characteristics that define the victims in this suspenseful and gripping crime/thriller.
This time Rachel Prince travels to Los Angeles to help the LAPD investigate the murder of a British citizen. Every evidence points to the victim’s boyfriend being the culprit, but Rachel’s instincts say otherwise. After some diggings and questionings, she finds another victim killed in the same way as the first one.
Determined to find the killer and stop the murders and despite obstacles, she goes against all odds and decides to solve the case all by herself.

This was another fast-paced and intriguing read from Alison James. Although I would have liked to see more of Mark Brickall.

Thanks to Alison James, Bookouture and the NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy.

Detective Rachel Prince is back and is off across the Atlantic to help solve the case of a young English woman whose body has been found dumped behind the back of a department store. As Rachel teams up with Interpol, she discovers another young blonde girl is also found brutally murdered in similar circumstances. Can Rachel piece the clues together before she has to return to the UK?

This is book #3 in the Detective Inspector Rachel Prince series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but for continuity it does make sense to read the previous books in the series first. I have read both of the previous books and loved them, so this book had a lot to live up to!

This book was mainly set in the USA, and Rachel certainly spent a lot of time moving around the country tracking various leads. Her focus was obviously to help discover what had happened to the young British woman, Phoebe Stiles – a wannabe model and actress who had moved to the US in search of fame and fortune. I loved the different slant on this one and thoroughly enjoyed DI Prince jetting over to the United States. It was great to see how differently the police over there work their cases compared to how Rachel wanted to work it, and it was also great to see that she hadn’t lost any of her gritty determination in making sure she did things her way!

I didn’t really like Rob, Rachel’s Interpol contact in America, but that’s no surprise as I’m a big fan of DS Mark Brickall and I was still crossing all fingers and toes in the hope that he and Rachel finally get it together!! Rob, to me, came across as a bit of slimeball!! He obviously wanted to do his job and help Rachel investigate the cases, but also seemed to have his own agenda as far as Rachel was concerned, trying on more than one occasion to charm her into bed!

I have to admit it was a refreshing change to have the story focussed mainly on the one main character, although I did miss having Mark Brickall in it as much as he was in the previous books. Whilst it was the third book in the series, I felt like you really got to know Rachel in this one, far more than any of the other books. I loved the way she doesn’t let up until she has found the killer – like the proverbial dog with a bone!! The action was fast paced and the suspense built up quickly throughout the book. I honestly didn’t work out who the killer was until it was revealed and loved the twist with it. The ending was by far the best!! I literally cheered at one certain point (if you’ve read it, you’ll know exactly when I did!!) as it was so unexpected but definitely a sight for sore eyes!

Another great addition to the series and I honestly can’t wait for the next book to carry on the story!
