I enjoyed this book but felt the H/h fell a bit into insta-love a bit quick. Humorous dialogue between everyone. I loved the General. His comments were great and I think it was the first book in a while that felt like the pet was just as much a character as some of the people.
Do You Feel It Too is funny, sexy, romantic, and a fantastic way to spend a chilly weekend—it’ll definitely warm you right up. The characters, Gabe and Lily, are so much fun to read. He’s just absolutely hilarious (chapter 29 will have you laughing until you cry) —the things he says and thinks just cracked me up—and the way he feels about Lily made me want to melt. And Lily and the General were also funny and just so sweet, really the perfect mate for Gabe. Also of note was the palpable sexual tension that seemed to throb off about 90% of the pages; the chemistry between these two was *fans self* hot hot hot.
As with every single Nicola Rendell novel, I know that the minute I pick up her latest novel, I will:
not want it to put it down,
laugh until I cry,
get all starry eyed at the romance,
not want It to be over when the last page is finished.
I try and fail to have a list of my top favorites of hers and it’s impossible—they all have her trademark humor, romance, and sexiness and yet they all have something very unique. You always know that when you pick up her novels you’ll be guaranteed a good time.
Do You Feel It Too will have you wanting to visit Savannah looking for ghosts, quirky locals, and delicious food and hoping to be swept off your feet just like Gabe and Lily were.
This is your basic romance novel. It's ...just not for me. I like the idea of romance novels, but I think that I need more....meat or substance or...story.
Boy meets girl, they are relatively good people, they hook up, etc etc etc.
Eh...
Thanks to the publisher for the opportunity to review this book for NetGalley.
If you want a laugh at loud, hot, sexy read, this is it! This was my first experience reading this author's work and it won't be the last - I loved everything about this read, but most especially Gabe and Lily's instant chemistry and their funny, sexy banter. Add in the General who is absolutely hilarious and who doesn't love a cute, chubby, adorable little person and you've got a winning rom-com. I had many favorite moments in this book, but the one that stands out by far is the babysitting episode-that chapter had me in tears and laughing out loud! Really enjoyable romantic comedy with a good message -- "True love is the only thing that matters." I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
"Do you feel it too" was fabulously fantastic read. I haven't laughed so much in a while and let me tell you....it was deep from my belly and I had plastered smile on my face all the time. This book just melted my heart. The plot was full of wittines, sass and true love. The characters interesting personalities chasing their dreams. But dreams change and chasing them together is so much better than all alone. Although to follow one's dreams you have to overgo all your fears. Is it possible? Well get this book and find out for yourself... And as a bonus amazingly wise, chatty parrot named General will bring you to laugh all the time.
I enjoyed every moment of this incredibly well written story and can only recommend it to everyone who loves a great RomCom full of steaming hot scenes.
Since I finished reading this INCREDIBLE GEM of a book, I've been sitting, thinking about what I could possibly say about it! First, I have to say that THIS book is Ms. Rendell's VERY BEST BOOK YET!!! I have read them ALL and there's just something about this one that resonated with me, I was hooked from the start and I soooooooo did NOT want it to end!
Not ONLY did I fall EXTREMELY hard for the SINFULLY SEXY Mr. Gabe Powers, but I have a HUGE girl-crush on Ms. Lily Jameson, as well! He's the EPITOME of the Hollywood heartthrob (minus the ego and the attitude) and SHE'S the sassy, sweetly Southern girl-next-door (and this sweet Georgia peach definitely has a spicy side) with a few quirks that make her even MORE lovable...and to put the cherry on top, there's The General! I have NEVER laughed-til-I-cried so hard as I did with this INSANELY funny side character who ABSOLUTELY STOLE THE SHOW!!! You will just have to read the book to find out exactly WHO The General is....
I loved EVERYTHING about this sweet and swoony, FUNNY and SEXY romp that's landed on my BEST of 2018 List!!!
3.5-4 stars for this book. Do You Feel It Too?..... at some times I did and at other times I didn't. I am a huge fan of this author's work and yes this was an enjoyable read, but it didn't grab me like her others have in the past. I loved the characters Gabe and Lily and I especially loved the scenes with The General. I enjoyed the story, it was refreshing to have the couple hunting for ghosts and the scenes that played out because of this.
I love Nicola Rendell!!!
Here books are always amazing. So when I saw this book I just knew I wanted to read it.
I loved it from the very first page until the very end.
Story and character.... brilliant!!!
What a fun book! I loved our two main characters...Lily was fantastic, Gabe was fantastic, and The General was FANTASTIC! I laughed out loud a lot, especially during scenes with The General. Best pet ever. Lily & Gabe's connection was instantaneous and HOT. I mean, REALLY HOT. Gabe was the perfect book boyfriend. I loved the storyline of the 'legend hunter' show was a lot of fun. Do You Feel It Too is another awesome book by Nicola Rendell.
I struggled with this one. The hero only seems to appreciate her body, and there is some pretty dodgy treatment of safe sex. It's 2018. Let's do better.
I read a solid half of this book, which is my threshold for leaving a review. I think the author's voice is great, and there was a lot to like, but a few things hit my buttons exactly the wrong way and I couldn't stay in it.
For example, the first time the couple has sex, he's inside her and says
"Are we going to screw around with condoms, or are you going to let me come inside you?"
Now, I went back through the first 30% of the book to check, and they had never discussed contraception or sexual health. This dude travels the world for his television show and has women throwing themselves at him all the time. She may be sexually chaste, but he's not. And they've never talked about it! Worse, the heroine doesn't tell him to F off, she just says "is it safe" and he makes a joke and there they go, having the sex. What if she had said no? There are several mentions of how he was so good that he didn't have to ask what she wanted and blah blah blah, and I know that's a fantasy, right? The guy who knows exactly what you need and gives it to you without that awkward first sex experience...
But I'm sorry, I'm not able to ignore this kind of thing in the year 2018. The parrot is also very funny but named General Lee and I have a hard time joking about the Civil War.
All in all, this was not the book for me. The hero is very alpha, pushing the heroine beyond what she's comfortable with, spying up her skirt and other icky things. I'll try another of her books, but this one? This hero? Nope.
This was fun and entertaining! Gabe is doing some light ghost busting for his show in Lily’s hometown. Lily meets Gabe for the first time by bashing his face with a mic stand. Oops. You know, it’s your average everyday meet-cute. Boy did the sparks ever fly between these two. Super smoking hot sparks. So hot. *fans face* Lily has a parrot called the General and he’s so fantastic. I loved every scene with that bird. Oh! Gabe takes care of Lily’s 9 month old nephew...omg It’s pretty much the best thing ever. Seriously, this man is book boyfriend material. Great guy and he treats Lily so well. There’s so many light hearted shenanigans between them that I had an awesome time reading their story.
This was such a fun, sexy read! I absolutely loved all the crazy antics that this couple as well as the people and animals around them got up to.
Gabe has a tv program that covers unexplained paranormal reports. While covering some of the haunted sites in Savannah, he sees the most amazing thing he has ever seen before…Lily. With every intention of getting to know her, their first meeting begins with quite a smash. Lily doesn’t recognize Gabe for the entertainment persona he is and he finds that even more refreshing than her smile and her sparkling personality. Soon, they are investigating together, having wild and dirty talking sex and falling helplessly in love.
Until the conflict between this couple arose, I was constantly grinning from ear to ear. Lily and Gabe were just so cute together. Add in one crazy animal and I was laughing out loud. And dear lord, my ovaries exploded when Gabe was left to babysit Lily’s nephew. This book was just one freaking amazing scene after another all leading up to a heartbreaking moment that made me want to weep.
I absolutely adored Gabe and truly wondered how he would ever be at a place that would give Lily confidence that he truly wanted to be with her. She has a reason to mistrust but her fears over their relationship in regards to his job was very real and certainly believable. There were a few different ways this conflict could’ve been resolved but I was so very happy at the direction this author allowed this couple to take. Especially Lily. I think she may be my new “hero”ine.
This is a fast paced read with extreme heat and plenty of dirty talk that will light your ereader on fire. With some background on the sites they visit around Savannah I felt completely pulled into the location and life of this couple. Ending with a sweet and satisfying epilogue, you’ve got the perfect afternoon read. I can’t help but recommend this book to anyone who likes their rom-com laced with a bit of angst.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Montlake. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
***Thank you to the publisher, to the author and #DoYouFeelItToo #NetGalley for giving me the ARC in exchange for an honest review***
Gabe and Lilly's story was steamy....fun and really sweet!! From the first moment they met the connection between them was amazing!! Captain was hilarious!! I really enjoyed it !!
Love is not a strong enough word for this book! I was honestly enthralled in the first page. The instant chemistry between Gabe and Lily is captivating and enchanting.
Gabe is a adventure show host turned ghost hunter. Lily owns her own audio business and is the best auntie in the world. They are first brought together by attraction, then by fate. As they begin to work together the attraction only grows despite LIly's attempt to be strictly professional. I love that there isn't typical unnecessary drama. But there IS drama! Fun, quirky, sweet, endearing, HOT drama! You will fall in love with these characters and even with Savannah! If I am giving award nominations to supporting actors then The General WINS! He is hands down the VERY best supporting character I have ever met. The moment Gabe and Lilly figured out the significance to The Noise, I got goosebumps! The author's empathy toward Lily's phobia was a welcome portrayal of a real fear of many. I do not want to give away details because they are too fun to experience for the first time, so I will simply say GO READ THIS!!!!
I really enjoyed this book! I have been a fan of Nicola Rendell from the beginning and she hasn’t let me down yet! Gabe and Lily had amazing chemistry! They really set the pages on fire 🔥 From the moment they met, you could feel their connection. Throughout the book, you could feel that connection grow. There was laughter, tears, and plenty of smoking hot moments. The General was a complete scene stealer. He was hysterical with all his eccentricities and funny quirks. Overall, we have another great story from one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend this book!
A great original romance by a talented author. This story had all the elements I look for in a truly good read. Gabe a famous paranormal investigator sees Lily an audio tech and knows he has met the one and he will move heaven and earth to keep her in his life. The story had a touch of the paranormal, a pet (The General) who kept you laughing, hot sex and a very happy ending. The author has a way of making the story come alive with well thought out details that lets the story expand and breathe.
I have read several of Nicola Rendell's books and have enjoyed them all.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy provided by Montlake Romance/NetGalley.
The feels in this were just outstanding. This is what I hope to feel from every book I read, yet it's so rare to find it.
Gabe is swoony, Lily is real and the General is the best pet I've ever read, I adored him. He was also hilarious.
The only thing that I wasn't keen on was the unsolicited advice from strangers towards the end. It felt a bit contrived to me, especially coming after all of that originality and sparkle in the rest of the book. While it didn't spoil the book, I felt a bit disappointed.
But can we talk about the smut in this? Yikes it was hot. And Gabe is a proper boy scout, croc wrestling alpha with a dirty mouth and a natural sense of romance. Yeah so I'm swooning again, sorry.
Fabulous read, highly recommended. Complete story, standalone.
Thanks to the publisher and #Netgalley for the ARC of #DoYouFeelItTo
New to this author, I enjoyed her style of writing and characterization. The plot was fun and some of the romance quite steamy. The story was relevant to the character’s ages and what would be realistic goals at this point in their lives. The reader can feel the chemistry coming off the pages and the comic relief that was provided, especially in way of the General, was a absolute riot.
Gabe Powers, host of his own Paranormal TV show and voted People Magazine’s “Most Eligible Bachelors” has seen sights from all around the world and back. But it’s on a hot night in Savannah that the sight Lily Jameson has stoppped him in his tracks. Lily has no idea who Gabe is until she’s already committed to dinner with him and things only get more intense from there. However, Lily likes to play it safe and has created a stable little life for herself in Georgia and Gabe is a glob trotting risk taker. Will their romance have a chance or will it fail before getting off the ground?
This was a quick, easy read. Great for a short getaway or a weekend snuggled up in the couch. 4 stars.
Just finished reading Do You Feel It Too? and it was an overall good romance story. The characters Lily and Gabe were complete opposites and I really enjoyed seeing them grow closer over time. It was adventurous, mysterious, and so romantic.
Gabe was a TV host, confident, and an adventure seeker. When he is sent to Savannah, he sees this as another job. He is going to go in, get his footage, and leave to the next adventure. Then, he meets Lily and his world is turned upside down. Having a lasting relationship has never been something he gave much thought to. But the more time he spends with her is changing his perspective.
Lily is an audio tech, a great sister/aunt, and a genuine person. Her life is going smoothly and then Gabe finds his way into it. She learns more about love and life, but in the end, she still struggles with the question "is she enough?"
She has a fear that interferes with Gabe's life. Can they make it work? Will love be the winner?
