This is the story of Anissa and Leo, and is part of the Cattlaneo’s Christmas Miracles. It has ten chapters and is very well written. It is the classic tale of Rich vs Poor. It contains some great descriptions of New York and make you want to plan a visit. The Romance is on point and is perfect read on a winters evening.

There's a huge clue to how this story goes in the title - it is a fairy tale romance! Anissa Lang was seriously injured, ending her Olympic skiing dreams, but she's determined to recover and is working as a chalet maid to enable her to continue training on the slopes.

Leo Baxter is a millionaire who has come to the resort for the reading of his parent's will - the parent's he had no knowledge of as he'd been adopted. Not only will he learn more about them but he'll also get to meet his younger siblings . . . and is unsure how any of them will react. However, on his first night there he meets Anissa and the attraction between them is irresistible!! After that they start to get to really know each other and, when Leo has to return to New York for business, he takes her with him. That's definitely a fairy tale part as he treats her like a princess over their Christmas visit. There's even a ball for them to attend - but no pumpkins or mice were mentioned . . . However, there are still things from their separate pasts that they each need to deal with and there's plenty of angst and drama as they do so.

I've never been to New York but the descriptions of the couple's journeys really brought it all to life in my imagination. Maybe one day I'll go to see just how accurate those images are! The developing relationship is heartwarming and leaves the reader with that feel-good factor, especially with the delightful ending. This is a lovely, sweet romance that I really enjoyed and have pleasure in recommending to anyone who enjoys this genre.

I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

Scarlet Wilson’s ‘Cinderella’s New York Christmas’ is a beautiful story showcasing the journey of self-discovery that our main protagonists go on, emotional, engaging, with witty dialogue and enjoyable inner monologue.
Leo and Anissa meet under serendipitous circumstances, and you can’t help but want to follow their journey together as they travel from one place to another, learning more about themselves, each other, and life in general. Leo’s dealing with family issues he never quite got the chance to prepare for, Anissa is dealing with stark changes to her life she hasn’t quite come to terms with yet, and they end up turning to one another as an escape from it all. That escape leads to a whirlwind trip to New York, where they both get the chance to breath for what seems like the first time, just being, just living, which is equal parts amazing and terrifying for each. Tension runs high as they have to come to terms with what they want out of life, and the question of the hour becomes, are they enough for one another?
Whilst it felt like it had a slow start, and at times the narrative almost deterred from the developing characterization, I still thoroughly enjoyed this story, from Ice Princess to Cinderella, and it did have that ideal HEA, or at least a HFN! It was fantastical, like a fairy tale, and you couldn’t help but root for Leo and Anissa, feeling the heartbreak, feeling the sped up heartbeat, living vicariously through them for it all. If you love a sweet, endearing, heartwarming story with a touch of billionaire and fairy tale, this is exactly what you’re looking for; you won’t regret giving it a shot!

Anissa was a gold medalist who lost her chance due to injury and ended up as a ski trainer and chalet cleaner in Mont Coeur. She met Leo Baxter who was struggling to come to term with the loss of his parents who he never met. He took her from the mountain and delivered her to the city. She fell in love with Leo who made her realise that there is more to life than skiing. He also helped her to realise that she has options.

There's not much story to Cinderella's New York Christmas but what there is is enjoyable enough. It's a classic piece of Christmas escapism - and none the worse for that. Anissa and Leo are likeable characters and their relationship is believable. But it's actually Jules, a bit part, who stays in my mind most clearly. I'd like to read her story...

I found this book utterly enchanting, and couldn't put it down. The book has all you need in a romance; a full range of emotions from utter joy to heartbreak and back again. The hero and heroine have both been through a lot in their lives before they meet, but their journey to happiness together is exceptionally well written, and as I said, I couldn't put it down. I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series.

THis book is well-written because the fast paced plot matches the characters of the hero and heroine. They are both on personal journeys of their own as well as moving physically from Europe to NY with plenty of skiing, skating, dancing and romancing along the way. Very enjoyable.

Cinderella's New York Christmas is written by Scarlet Wilson and published by Mills & Boon (True Love). Released just in time for the Holiday/ Christmas season, the book due to its title (obviously) and front cover screams sparkly Christmas so as soon I saw it I knew I wanted to read it as soon as it had finished downloading!

Anissa Lang had been an up and coming Australian skiing sensation and possible contender for Olympic gold before a terrible accident put a massive dent into those dreams and aspirations. Now she is working as a chalet maid and a ski teacher in Mount Couer, Switzerland so she can finance her ski training as she is determined to continue skiing competitively and force her body back to peak condition no matter how painful the process is. Leo Baxter, a multi millionaire, is also in Switzerland for the reading of his parent's will. He has never met them, or his brother and sister, as he was put up for adoption (something his parents always regretted) as soon he was born. They never stopped searching for him and were so determined that he should be part of the family if he was found, that the will stipulated that he must be head of their Jewellery store empire for 2 years or the shares must be sold off. Their first meeting takes place when Anissa skis into a car and Keo comes to her rescue. Their is an instant attraction and he takes her with him to New York. Both characters are struggling with issues that could derail a possible long term relationship. Can they overcome them to have their happily ever after?

The novel reads like a modern 21 Century Cinderella: she is a chalet maid, the princess who runs away from the ball, Leo is the tall, handsome prince. I enjoyed the New York descriptive scenes. It made the whole story more realistic and the reader can imagine being there in person. It is well written and I couldn't put it down till I finished it!

I received this book via Netgalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for a honest review. I am a #MillsAndBoonInsider #netgalley

I honestly did not think that I would love this book as much as I did and I am super happy that I received an e-copy from the publishers to read & review it, and as always, my honest opinion! I know what I want from a romance novel and I rarely go wrong with my choices, but rarely comes a book so good that I know it’ll be a 5 start read immediately. I am so happy this book was written, is unreal! The blurb sounds really cheesy, but the book is sooo much more than that!

THE CHARACTERS….
Anissa and Leo are so pure, I cannot even begin to describe… Anissa is a chalet maid and sky instructor after a terrible accident whilst competing left her with long-lasting damage. She meets Leo on the slopes and they have this instant chemistry that translated so perfectly to the reader – I felt it in my heart! Leo is a powerful billionaire who just met his new family and is shook after hearing what his parents left in the will and just wants to forget about everything when he meets Anissa.

I love Leo so much! He is the walking trope of tall, dark and handsome – and filthy rich!, however, he has so much character depth. From the beginning, he is as honest as he can with Anissa and they are very clear on what the expectations are. He is never malicious in his thoughts and is genuinely interested to get to know her better, to go things that would make her happy just because he is that kind of guy. He has a lot of emotional baggage, but that doesn’t stop him from being a decent human being with her.

Anissa, on the other hand, is still suffering from the aftermath of her accident and her inability to ski at the levels she used to and this creates a lot of physical and emotional pain for her. She is very mature and reacts like an actual human being to the events around her, always keeping in mind the feelings of others and how her actions could affect those around her. As the story progresses we get a lot more insight into who she is as a person and how she has to re-adjust and re-evaluate everything which ain’t bloody easy, let’s face it!

Anissa and Leo are so cute and good for each other. I really appreciated the portrayal of their relationship and how healthily they reacted to each other’s feelings. It was pure, and I was there for it!

THE PLOT…
The plot is really simple and straightforward as this is a modern retelling of Cinderella, so we kind of know where this is generally going, however, it had the best characters to pull this story forward and make the reader empathise and feel what the characters are feeling.

THE WRITING…
I really enjoyed the writing style of this novel, it read so different than the kind of romance I am used to reading. There are romantic tropes in this novel [duh! It’s a romance] but somehow it felt refreshing and new and pure.

THE ENJOYMENT…
If you haven’t realised by now how much I love this book, then I failed!
I recommend this novel from the bottom of my heart, this is by far my top favourite romance of the year and possibly of all times. I will be looking up Scarlet Wilson’s other works as well in the hope that I will find something as good as this one. As soon as this novel comes out, I am going to buy myself a paperback copy because I need to have this on my shelf!

A billionaire businessman meets injured ex Olympic skier in family drama, happy ever after, emotional, Cinderella type romance.
Ah!

Anissa was all set for the Olympics when an accident ended her dreams. Now she is working as a chalet maid and teaching skiing. Leo is a successful business man who recently found his adopted parents only to have them cruelly taken away in an accident. He is in Mont Coeur to meet his biological siblings for the first time. The first meeting doesn't go particularly well especially when the will is read. When Anissa and Leo meet for the first time, Anissa has hurt her foot while skiing and Leo rescues her. The attraction is strong between them and one night together is a welcome distraction to all that is going on. Except neither can forget the night they spent together, and its not long till they come face to face. When Leo has to go back to New York he asks Anissa to go with him. New York at Christmas just seems fantastic. Enjoy the ride as Scarlet Wilson takes you along with Leo & Anissa.
As the title implies this story has a fairy tale element. Recommended for fans of contemporary romance.

An enjoyable, atmospheric romance about two people who met, literally, by accident. Others would have thought them totally incompatible but their feelings and needs are similar and so, as the barriers come down, Cinderella does, indeed, meet her prince!

A 21st-century fairytale romance, with a festive twist.

Anissa is recovering from a devastating sports injury that threatens to end a gold medal career; she is training hard, teaching skiing and working as a part-time chalet maid when she meets billionaire Leo, who is struggling with unexpected family problems. Their passionate encounter affects them both emotionally, and Leo asks Anissa to go to New York with him.

Providing you accept that the storyline is pure fairytale this is enjoyable; there are lovely descriptions of New York sites and events and many tender moments between the couple. There are plenty of 'Cinderella similarities, but this isn't the deep, emotional read you expect from this series. However, it is festive, romantic and easy to read and the ending is heartwarming.

I received a copy of this book from Mills& Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Anissa Lang was in contention for an Olympic gold medal for skiing. Before her dream could be realised she had an accident on the slopes that stole that dream away. Not willing to accept that, Anissa has carried on rigorous training every day in an attempt to get her body back into the right form for competition. She ignores the pain she is in that has her taking pain medication daily. She ignores the fact that she is pushing herself too hard, and all the while she has to maintain two jobs to ensure she can keep a roof over her heard. She teaches skiing, and she is a chalet maid in a ski resort in Switzerland.

Leo Baxter finds himself in Switzerland for the reading of the will of parents he has never met. He is also going to meet a brother and sister he never knew about. A wealthy man in his own right he doesn't need to benefit from the will, and he is frightened to meet siblings that will probably hate him. But he knows he must forge ahead and do as required of him.

On his first night there circumstances find him meeting Anissa. There is an instant hot attraction between them, and with them both needing a distraction from what is happening in their lives they end up in bed together. From there they take things backwards and get to know each other. Leo needs to return to New York for urgent business and takes Anissa with him. It's like a fairy tale there being Christmas time and Leo makes sure that Anissa feels like a princess.

Their relationship progresses but both have things to deal with before they are ready to move on in any direction, things that only each other can help them get through.

This was such a sweet story, especially when it reaches the parts that are definitely just like a retelling of Cinderella. I definitely had a smile on my face when our princess runs from the ball. I loved feeling as if I was sightseeing with the couple and could just picture myself in New York, enjoying all the places that they did. I loved the building relationship between Anissa and Leo and how they were so perfect for each other. There was just the right amount of angst, but for the most part, this was a wonderful feel-good story that had the perfect ending.

I am more than happy to recommend this book, but if you are looking for something with a bit more spice rather than sweetness then this isn't the book for you.

A short festive read. Split between ski slopes and New York in the run up to Christmas.
Anissa first meets Leo when she crashes in to him at the bottom of the ski slope. She is a chalet maid, having been forced to retire as a professional skier due to injury, and he is a billionaire business man, but they hit it off and soon he is whisking her away to New York.
