DNF. Absolutely disappointing. There was so many issues with the story plot which was bad enough but I just got tired of the whole thing.
Warning: A little spoilery and a little ranty.
I can’t tell you how disappointed I was with this book. I actually stalked this book. I enjoyed Melt For You (and have re-read it several times because I love Cam and Joellen) and I also enjoyed Burn for You. I was so looking forward to this book so much that I stalked it. I looked for it over and over again on Netgalley. I couldn’t wait until I could get my hands on a copy and then finally have a chance to read it. Then I couldn’t finish it. I tried really hard but it was too much like being force to read something in school.
The story is that Kimber Di Santo, a seamstress and designer in San Francisco, is left at the altar by her boyfriend, the son of a politian. It seemed everyone but Kimber knew he was marrying her to get to his Trust fund but even for several millions dollars he couldn’t suck it up and marry the pretty, sweet Kimber who was so in love with him that she was blinded to all his faults.
Shortly after the wedding, after locking herself in her apartment to keep away from the paparazzi, Kimber receives a note by FedEx from her father’s best friend that her father is dying at his home in Italy.
She gets to the airport and after an arduous trip to the airport (aren’t they all) ends up waiting in American Express lounge where Matteo sees her and starts to flirt. She accuses him of being paparazzo trying to get a story from her. Rudeness ensues. Then Kimber is told she is bumped from the flight because they overbooked. She tells the girl at the counter that her father is dying and she needs to get on the flight. Airline employee is unimpressed by Kimber’s dying father and meltdown but Matteo happens to be on the same flight and offers his ticket to her. Since his ticket is first class and costs about $10,000, he offers it to Kimber in exchange for her sketchbook which he saw her doodling in earlier at the lounge because he likes art.
Kimber gets to see her father before he dies but she then learns that her father remarried. When she finally gets to the house she meets the stepmother and eventually her son — Matteo. Really?
Kimber’s father was also a talented designer but not a good businessman. Kimber is told she should sell the business and her stepmother has a perfect buyer — her son, Matteo. Matteo whose new spring line will be created from Kimber’s sketchbook. Matteo tells Kimber she knows nothing of Italian fashion and would never be able to compete here in Italy and she should just sell him the business and go home.
Matteo seems to be acting rude toward Kimber because anger is better than sadness, right? The sexual tension between these two is thick but every time Kimber’s uterus takes over her brain (yes, she says that) she then remembers and asks Matteo “You still using my designs?” He says, “Yes.” She says, “Fuck you!”
Halfway through the story, they are ready to hop into bed when Kimber again remembers he is using her designs and gives the FU. When Matteo offers to give her back her sketchbook, one page at a time for each passionate kiss, she gets offended as she should for the dick move, I tapped out at this point. And it should be noted that his people are gearing up for Italian Fashion week in two weeks time so I am guessing he can give back pages, but those designs are already being fitted on models at this point.
Let’s stop here and rant but where, oh where to start.
#1: Her beloved father did not attend her wedding because of his fear of flying. She never suggested that they have the wedding in Italy so her beloved father could be part of her important day? Kimber hasn’t seen her beloved father in five years. He never met her future husband. Her beloved father sent her to America to live with an aunt when she was three years old and Kimber grew up and went to school here while her father lived on a giant estate in Italy. Um, how beloved can this relationship be if they rarely see each other and talked to each other occasionally on the phone. Her father doesn’t keep any photos around of Kimber now since she looks so much like her mother (which is why Matteo didn’t know who she was at the airport). How come none of the people close to her father was aware weeks later that she did not get married. They kept asking where the husband was, and her father never told Kimber he remarried because he didn’t want to steal her thunder. I am not feeling the belove.
#2: A big deal is made of Kimber not speaking Italian and not understanding what is being said around her. Her parents are both Italian. She was born in Italy. After her mother died, she was sent to live with an aunt in America when she was three. Not even getting in to questions like citizenship and how she went to school and stayed in America if she was Italian of Italian parents. But Kimber explains that her father always wanted her to go to school in America and didn’t want her to feel like a foreigner with an accent so he never taught her or spoke Italian to her…and no one else in her first three years of life in Italy ever spoke Italian to her? Her aunt didn’t speak Italian to her when she got to America? It was stupid. I would have believed that she learned both English and Italian but hadn’t spoken Italian since she was three and forgot everything vs. never learned it.
#3: Kimber goes to her father’s store filled with his beautiful designs and finds that everything is priced too low. She states her father was a talented designer but a bad businessman. Kimber was a talented designer and apparently went to school and college in America. Why would Kimber not go home to live in her father’s big estate in Italy (the Fashion capital of the world according to Matteo) and help build his business with her designs and business sense in the heart of the fashion world rather than starting from scratch in San Francisco and leave her beloved father to die in near poverty because he couldn’t run the business properly.
#4: Kimber gets arbitrarily booted off the plane, but the airline people make no attempt to find someone else willing to wait and allow Kimber to get on the plane after she says her father is dying and she has to get there asap. They give her “not my problem, bitch” attitude. Matteo volunteered his ticket to Kimber after he hears her say that her father is dying (still haven’t connected any dots, but she never told him her name). She was rude to him in the lounge but he is being a nice guy. Now, I have never flown first class, but I am guessing if you bought a $10,000 ticket, they don’t oversell the flight and you don’t get booted off the plane. That is for the steerage passengers. So Matteo had to know that he was offering his first class ticket to Kimber that it was in exchange for her economy ticket. Yet, when the counter person indicates that he is giving her a $10,000 ticket and she balks that she can’t pay him back, he suggests that she gives him her sketchbook in exchange, never indicating that he is a competing designer. Let’s forget that obviously Matteo isn’t in any rush to get to his dying stepfather’s side and can catch a flight the next day. I would love someone’s expertise on this, but to me giving him her sketchbook doesn’t equate to giving him license to use her designs. He could use them anyway and when she threatens to go public with the fact that he is using her designs for his show, he asks if she really wants publicity after the wedding scandal and she balks. I would say sure, I was down on my luck, my father was dying and the rich bastard took advantage of my helplessness and used my hard work for his own gain, that would get her tons of sympathy with the public.
He also tells her she should sell her father’s business to him because she can’t compete with the Italian designers…but he is stealing her designs for his show…and she never seems to slap him back with this fact.
#5: This is supposed to be Cinderella but I don’t think the evil stepmother was as bad as she was supposed to be. She seemed more standoffish and it was Kimber that was more shrewish and her emotions kept flipping from depressed to ragey.
Kimber had a handsome, yet gay best friend who I was liking. She had another female best friend but she was only mentioned as having big boobs and never really played more of a part. The ex-fiance shows up after Kimber’s father’s funeral to get her to give him another chance, admitting that he is secretly gay (yes, that is why I was always a sexist jerk to hide the fact that I was gay) and he freaked out but they could get married and have a great life together with all his trust fund now that she knows they don’t have to have sex anymore since it was distasteful to him. Really? It would be bad enough to be left at the altar when just your friends and family to witness that, but to have that splashed all over the internet, and he flew to Italy thinking she would overlook all that and marry him anyway? Was that just a meet Matteo and make him jealous thing because it was nonsensical.
I really wanted to like this book and I kept going because I could see she was trying to make the chemistry between Matteo and Kimber sizzle, but it was just too painful to keep reading.
Ache for You is the third book in the Slow Burn series by J.T. Geissinger. Let me first say, I've loved many of this author's other books, especially the Bad Habit and Wicked Games series. This one, however, just didn't click with me. This is one of those Enemies to Lovers that I cringed at, which bites because again, I really did love a lot of JT's prior books.
You know how, you're on a plane and it suddenly plunges 5,000 feet and you start praying, even though you're not actually religious. Then when you think everything is fine, you've leveled off and it's smooth sailing, your feet are wet and you're in the middle of the ocean? This sort of describes Kimber's life. Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, especially if a lot of it is your own fault. This is one of those books where I had very little sympathy with the main character, mainly because she jumps to so many conclusions without really knowing or even asking questions, I got fed up with her by the second chapter. She spent so much time hating everyone, especially Matteo, I didn't feel any romance between the two until 75% in. And even then, it felt iffy. And that whole thing with the ex-fiancee, I so did not like that all. She is way more forgiving than I am. Seriously I love JT and her other books but this just didn't work for me. I absolutely love the cover though!
Ache For You is book three in the Slow Burn Series by J.T. Geissinger. I read and fell in love with the first two books in this series. Each book is so different. This one is an enemies to lovers story and I could not put it down. I experienced just about every emotion possible within these pages. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
Kimber DiSanto is a seamstress. She has a little dress shop and is about to marry the man of her dreams. The man she has been dating for the past three years. Within the span of just a few days, though, Kimber loses everything. Her fiancé left her at the alter, her business burned to the ground, and she got word that her father, who lives in Italy, was dying. Fate just keeps dealing her the blows.
After the death of her father, Kimber has also learned that she has a wicked stepmother she knew nothing about. Her father had a failing dress shop and her stepmother just happens to have the perfect buyer for it so Kimber can get back to her life in the States. But what sort of life does she have to get back to? None! So Kimber is going to stay and revive her father’s business.
On top of everything else, there is Matteo. She initially met him at the airport and just can’t seem to shake him. He is quite literally the most beautiful man she has ever seen. But she learned the hard way that she is a bad judge of character. She’s positive he’s just as bad as her ex-fiance. All men are. For Kimber, the way to deal with all the stress that’s been thrown on her as of late is just to get mad, angry stinking mad! And Matteo seems more than willing to aggravate her and to enjoy being the recipient of all of her pent up anger.
Matteo Moretti is rich and is used to getting whatever he wants. Any woman who has shown interest in him has always either been after his money or his title, usually both. But this beautiful woman, Kimber, isn’t interested in any of it. He can tell by the way she looks at him that she wants him. But she’s been hurt too deeply. He gets way too much enjoyment out of aggravating her. He’s determined, though, to win her over. When they shared their first kiss he knew that she was the only woman for him.
As Kimber tries to put her life back together, she is forced to face some truths. She learns so much about herself in those few weeks, things that she doesn’t like about herself. She can’t deny that she wants Matteo. He wakes up feelings in her that she has never experienced in her entire life. But, she is still convinced that underneath all that beauty, underneath all those pretty Italian words, that he is still untrustworthy.
Okay, first, I just have to repeat, I loved this book!!! Kimber was hurt in so many ways, she lost so much. Getting angry was the easiest way to deal with it. And who better to direct all that anger at then this beautiful man she can’t help but to lust after. The angry banter between these two was at times so much fun. But it was also sad because I just felt so bad for Kimber, well, for both of them. Because I truly loved Matteo and it was obvious to me that he was truly falling for her. But how many times can she push him away before he finally gives up? Before he has to accept that she is just too broken?
This is a fast paced, fun, steamy and also sweet book that I truly loved. J.T. has become one of my very favorite authors. The secondary characters in this one are also so much fun! This is one of those books that if you do have to put it down, it stays in your head. It did mine anyway. You really can’t go wrong with any of the books in this series. You should definitely check them out. I hope you’ll love them as much as I have.
Geissinger rarely relies on the shallow nature of any character in her novels and yet in Ache For You she created a heroine that was so woefully driven and affected by the physical attractiveness of a male character that the story of a woman grieving through loss and re-building her life instead became only about her body's reactions to a man. There are better ways to show contention between two characters that hate to want each other than lowering their characters down to just their physical wants and needs, and then expecting their connection to build on something so flimsy and stereotypical. These methods not only belittled the heroine as a person by whittling her down to her body running the show, but also prevented their connection from being three dimensional and having any sort of depth.
Though I don't need every aspect of a romance to be believable, I do need the relationship between the two main characters to have some believability in order to ground it, and unfortunately theirs did not have much. Neither main character was fleshed out and because of that I struggled greatly with understanding them or their actions. And creating the uterus as a secondary character with human abilities quickly became an overused tactic to further the wanting, of which we already had too much—these references (and others pertaining to her thoughts of him) became more dramatic and immature as the story went on. Ache For You was not at all like the skilled writing that I'm used to with this author—one who has written some of the most amazing, beautifully full love stories—and I'm surprised to find these tired tactics in this manuscript. I will certainly read this author's books in the future as this title is an anomaly among many great ones, but I simply cannot recommend this one.
4.5⭐
Ache for You was a great read. That was full of banter and sizzle. As well as fantastically engaging, fun, and likable characters. Not to mention in Matteo's case smoking hot! And the storyline completely held my interest. Plus, it was extremely entertaining, flowed really well and full of chemistry. And it was easy to forget I was reading a slow burn romance. Which was a really good thing and it's why I would happily recommend this story to others.
4.5 stars
This was a read of pure escapism for me. ACHE FOR YOU came into my life just at a great moment and sucked me into a great story with fabulous chemistry and all the banter. I have loved the previous two books in this series and this book did not let me down. Please never finish with this series, JT Geissenger.
ACHE FOR YOU starts with a jilting at the alter, of mammoth proportions and if you think the heroine Kimber’s luck is down then, it really just gets worse. She travels from San Fran to Italy where everything begins to sizzle against her will. Kimber is a semi-native of Italy and being back is bittersweet for a number of reasons. Matteo is her thorn in the side and I found that my reticence for these two because of the recent jilting was broken down because I fell hook, line and sinker ‘the Count’.
“He....unhooks his cuff links, sets them on the table, and rolls up the cuffs of his shirt, staring at me the whole time. I can’t look away. It’s like porn. You know you shouldn’t watch it, but you can’t stop.”
This book made me feel excited, it made me hold my breath through the slow, excruciating burn and it made me suspenseful about what each page would bring. I thoroughly recommend this for an escape your life and stress, weekend read. You cannot go wrong with a great story, characters and chemistry read.
I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

J.T. Geissinger writes an imaginative, entertaining, modern Cinderella story. The characters are frequently not what they appear and the discovery process is entertaining as the reader is ping-ponged back and forth between evil or nice. Kimber is reeling from being dumped in a highly public and embarrassing way so she's seeing the world through suspicious eyes. Matteo is just too good to be true.
There's plenty of activity, many tales to unravel and more twists and turns than an Italian mountain road. Sexy and fun, I enjoyed this story.

I thought this was a silly but fun romantic comedy that really played up the whole Cinderella theme. So many crazy things happened to Kimber that you can't help but think she is cursed. You can't take it too seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the comedy of her life after her not so Prince Charming dumps her at the alter, and the domino effect that happens from there.
As a hero, Matteo wasn't exactly Prince Charming either. He's drawn to Kimber from the moment he lays eyes on her and yet he is stunned that she resists him. Not only does that make her much more intriguing as a woman, but it brings out a side to Matteo he didn't knew he had. He's a very intense character. I enjoyed the way he baited Kimber.
I think the whole set of side characters in this book were very entertaining. Kimber has a very funny and very inappropriate BFF who happens to be a model. Her ex played a pretty big part and I found I was entertained by him as well.
This really wasn't at all what I was expecting but I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I also like that the author surprised me with a few of these side characters.
To say Kimber is having a bad week is an understatement. First, she’d dumped at the alter (literally) by her fiancé, then she learns her father is in Italy on her deathbed; while trying to get to him she’s told her flight was oversold and the next one is not until the next day, then she has to deal with the sex-on-a-stick man tries flirting with her. After being dumped on her wedding day, men aren’t really her favorite species. Things look up when the handsome stranger offers up his seat so she can get to her father until Kimber strikes a deal with him that will come back to bite her in the butt. After making it to her father she learns that he recently married and his wife’s a barracuda and her step brother is none other than, Matteo, the handsome stranger from the airport. Then she gets word from her landlord that her business is now ashes, thanks to a fire. On top of all of this, she’s INSANELY attracted to Matteo; which totally baffles her because how can she hate and desire someone at the same time?
Okay, short and sweet.
It took me a little bit of time to really get into this book but once I found the rhythm it was enjoyable. I absolutely loved Kimber. She was so raw and gritty, no filter…if she thought it, she said it. Not only that but she was funny as hell. This was the book where you would find yourself laughing out loud that the conversations and the one-liners; even Matteo was funny. For as straight-laced as he was he had a wicked sense of humor. He and Kimber gave as well as they got.
The humor in this book was wonderful. The snark was there and used at just the right moment. I think Kimber had more conversations with her uterus than either of my kids had with mine while they were baking; but even her uterus was funny. There were moments where the story lulled a bit but it wasn’t enough to make me stop reading. Once I got into the book it was a quick and enjoyable read.
As far as bad luck goes, Kimber is the queen. Left at the altar, her father in Italy ill and dying, her flight was overbooked and now she has no way to get to him before he dies! She was willing to do anything to get on that flight. And she did. She was willing to exchange her sketchbook with all the sketches for her Spring collection for a ticket on that flight. The mysterious Italian that had propositioned her earlier while she waited was now her deliverer. Little did she know their paths would cross again.
This is a story of achieving your dreams and learning to roll with the punches. Obstacles sometimes appear insurmountable. When you are down and out, you need to keep your emotions controlled and your logical mind sharp... or not! Kimber has a hot Italian temper and she has learned to take no prisoners when fighting for what she believes in. Matteo is the biggest thorn on her side, alongside with her ex Brad who will follow her to the ends of the earth in order to make it up to her.
You just have to read this book. A great fairytale-like story full of life, amazing situations, and really good time~
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the publisher for sharing a copy with me.

This one has me in a bit of a wonky place all around and I know explaining it will more than likely fall into the verbal vomity realm so bear with me. I was absolutely excited to get my hands on this baby. I loved the first two books in this series, as well as all the other books by the author I’ve been able to get my hands on, so I had no doubt that I’d be all kinds of loving this one...but that isn’t what happened. I liked it and did enjoy the book in general, but what I liked didn’t really have anything to do with Kimber and Matteo’s journey to their HEA and more to do with the relationships Kimber had with almost everyone but Matteo *winces and hangs head*.
I know. I know. THIS is a romance. I am SUPPOSED to be all about Kimber and Matteo and their journey, but the honest truth is that they were just too OTT craycray for me, which kind of freaks me out because I ADORED the Bad Habit series and lemme tell you the OTT craycray was real in that one. I liked both Kimber and Matteo and I understood where they were both coming from, but instead of being amused by it all, I ended up being aggravated to the point where I couldn’t deal any more. I needed one of them to step back and be the adult and IMHO it should have been Matteo. I know this won’t be a popular stance because Kimber also needed to chill ~ badly ~ but she had the rug pulled out from under her in more ways than one and had cause for her reactions...at least for a little while. But, alas, neither decided to use their adulting card and I lost interest in them.
But what I did like, the reason for the rating, were the relationships Kimber had with her very small group of friends, and they had with each other. Jenner (whose name I LOVE and have loved since watching a certain animated movie in my youth), Danielle and Brad showed me who Kimber was down to her very cells and I loved the interactions she had with all of them and I lived for those moments.
It pains me when I don’t end up loving a book by an author I stalk on the regular, it really does. I didn’t dislike Ache For You, but I wish I had loved it more than I did, so I’m putting this on the “It’s not you, it’s me” shelf. This isn’t to say that you won’t absolutely adore it, so if you love the author and love OTT characters I totally recommend that you give it a go and I hope that you love it.
This is first person POV, Alternating Kimber/Matteo
The beginning of the book- no secret, Kimber is left at the altar on her wedding day.
Kimber goes to Italy (near Florence) to be will her very ill father. Kimber and Matteo's "meet cute" is fun. Kimber is on the high side of feisty. Matteo is so rrrroar. and very sexy charming.
Kimber doesn't fall for his flirting. She doesn't want to. but inside, she's hot for him. He's hot for her.
Is Matteo just another bum guy?
Kmber is trying to get her dad's clothing design shop turned around. Her dad was talented but not much for the business side.
Matteo keeps turning up wherever Kimber is. What are the chances?
I loved the Italian phrases. I used my Kindle translator & learned some Italian sexy talk.
This is loosely based on Cinderella. The Marchessa is the WS (wicked step mother). Wait til you find out about the step sisters! That was a funny little twist.
Matteo speaks English, but I thought that his expressions were a little too Americanized.. I love the heavy accented Italio-English that I've come to expect (Like Marcelo in Under The Tuscan Sun!). I wanted him to say she was like "Charlies Angels" LOL
I liked Matteo and Kimber together. They do turn on the heat, but I did want a little more . Of course. The entire book was one or the other pushing or pulling.Just like real life.Matteo had a chance to sweep Kimber of her feet. He pulled back too much. I wanted a little stronger alpha kinda hero to go with all that charm.
Kimber didn't speak Italian. I wondered how she got along so well in a business. I have to say, Clara was a crack up. She's an older woman that works in Kimber's/dad's shop. She was no nonsense.
Kimber's ex Brad ("satan") just doesn't go away. His explanation for dumping Kimber is a shock, but Kimber is hurt just as much by him. Does he redeem himself?
I liked the ending. I would have liked a little future into the future in the epilogue.
I enjoyed the other 2 Slow Burn books. Burn For You is my favorite.
I borderline loved Burn for You and Melt for You so I was expecting a lot coming into Ache for You. While I didn’t necessarily get the story I was expecting, I enjoyed it tremendously anyway.
On the surface this book is nothing new. A jilted bride and a rich Euro Hunk meet and sparks fly. I still enjoyed the ride fully. I liked both Matteo and Kimber and thought that they were both hilarious, misguided and communication challenged. This book wasn’t really a slow burn as much as an enemies to lovers novel.
I liked the secondary characters as well.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary Romance.
Ache for You by JT Geissinger was entertaining and witty.
After being jilted at the altar, Kimber becomes bitter, hostile, cautious and untrusting of the male sex.
It is safe to say that although attracted to Matteo at first site, she judges him instantaneously as a conceited playboy.
Matteo, however, falls hard and knows this is the woman he wants.
Will Kimber be able to see beyond her past and judge Matteo for the man he truly is?
This is the first book I read by this author and I quickly became invested and excited to see what would happen next.
I loved how Matteo was able to read Kimber and that he challenged her at every turn.
Kimber, for me, was a hard sell. She was hurt badly and understandably tries to protect herself but, I didn’t come out completely believing that she felt for Matteo what he felt for her.
Their push and pull made this story a slow burn that I enjoyed but found that it dragged on a little too long and eventually slowed down the pace a little.
Overall, a sexy, funny and entertaining read.
Great funny book. Another great book from J.T.Geissinger. I loved the characters. Kimber is on some bad luck in her life and the hits are just keep going. But she is fighting it with her sharp tongue and everything that she has left. Matteo is also an interesting character we don't see his intentions until the end of the book. But what passion do those two have, every time they communicate the sparks are flying and the kisses alone can melt your panties. A really great funny story, especially I loved Kimber's inner dialogue.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
Kimber's having a bad week ... she gets dumped at the altar, her business burns down and her father dies. So she decides to take over her father's business in Italy. When she arrives in Italy, she finds out her father had remarried and she has a step-brother who wants her father's business. Matteo is wealthy in his own right and doesn't need Kimber's money or business. All he wants is her, but she just won't believe him.
It was a nice change that Matteo wasn't a playboy and that he was just smitten with Kimber from the start. And although Kimber was funny and made me laugh, she was just over the top at times and I found that took away from the story. The heat between Matteo and Kimber was turned to high and their intimate scenes were HOT.
I received an ARC courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
What a fantastic read! The chemistry and banter between Matteo and Kimber is scorching hot! Definitely a slow sizzling burn that combusts. Hooked from page one until the very end. Beware this read will have you fanning yourself or laughing out loud. A must read.
Maybe I enjoyed the premise of this romantic tale mostly because I was really in the mood for a beautiful, sassy mouth heroine, who has finally had enough of gorgeous men who think they can they con and manipulate women to get whatever they want. Kimber may have been jilted at the altar with cameras catching every humiliating second of her celebrity style almost wedding, but even that wasn’t enough to keep her down for long. No, she came out swinging, and her ex-fiance’s bloody nose was living proof. Yeah, she packs a powerful punch and doesn’t hold back her words either. She’s now on a mission to take her life back and make her dearly departed papa proud.
Matteo, the hero, was a mixed bag of hot, sexy, aristocratic manliness, who is used to always getting his way. On one hand, you could definitely see he had a big heart, but on another he could be a jerk quick to manipulate things to his advantage. Kimber certainly seemed destined to be the one to show him the light. Their instant, steamy attraction continued to fuel their back and forth bickering banter, as they slowly but surely began to get to know one another and fall in love.
Towards the latter end of the book, I was surprised to see Kimber kind of dissolve into a puddle of uncertainty, despair, and wishy-washiness. True love seemed to weaken her resolve and direction in life. Matteo at times made me question his character with the questionable deals he seemed to push Kimber into. Even more surprising was when he later would feel bad and back off.
All in all, especially after 70% when they were finally intimate, their relationship really ramped up into an even more complicated, hot mess. There were quite a few sub-character big reveals, still lingering main couple distrust, and continuous back and forth, relationship angst which started to cause the main couple wrap up to feel less focused. I can’t help but wish Matteo had found and helped Kimber out of one particular life-threatening situation.
The cast of sub-characters did add a lot to the story though, and, overall, I did enjoy seeing these two hot headed, hot for each other, destined to be together love birds get their HEA. Some may find their journey to love a rather frustrating, back and forth, bumpy road and even resent Matteo at first. Kudos to him though for being the first to admit his feelings for Kimber. It took her a little while to catch up and let go of her emotional hang-ups.

Wow is all I have to say! His is the first one I’ve read from this author. And it starts off with a bang!
You can’t help but to get sucked into their world. Even with how it starts you want to know more and get to experience what the characters do. You want to both love and strangle both Kimber and Matteo through out the book
I want to say more but I rather hear how you read the book and fell in love with the world that was created through the authors words
So I loved Burn for You (Slow Burn #1) and I gushed all over the place after reading Melt for You (Slow Burn #2), so what can I say to adequately express how much I absolutely adored Ache for You, Book #3!!! This author has nailed the rom-com genre -- I never laugh so much as when I read her books. Kimber and Matteo are certainly slow burn material, but what I loved even more was their snarky banter that had me giggling throughout the entire book. Kimber's internal dialogue is hilarious! And JT writes the most fabulous, interesting secondary characters that bring the entire novel together -- Jenner, Brad, Danielle, the "step-sisters". As I've said before, the sign of an incredible read is when you don't want the book to end and I really didn't want to let these characters go -- I wanted to spend more time with them. Another 5+ star winner from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
