HUNTING DANGER is the fifth instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult REDEMPTION HARBOR romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women who work security and Black Ops investigations for Redemption Harbor Consulting. This is Redemption Harbor’s computer hacker and US Marine Gage Yates, and former CIA analyst Nova Blaire’s story line. HUNTING DANGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspective including Nova and Gage HUNTING DANGER follows the building relationship between computer hacker Gage Yates, and former CIA analyst Nova Blaire as they find themselves on a cross country trip to rescue Nova’s childhood friend whose life is spiralling out of control. A coded text from Nova’s friend Layla Ferrer found our heroine going rogue in an attempt to help her friend who had always had her back but going rogue also meant the member of her Redemption Harbor Team were willing to be of assistance at a moment’s notice. Enter computer hacker Gage Yates, and the man with whom Nova would fall in love. What ensues is a cross country adventure where Nova and Gage will be the victims of sabotage, and gunfire as they attempt to whisk Layla into protective custody.

Gage Yates suspected Nova was trying to keep secret her need to help a friend in trouble but Gage never expected to find himself on a cross-country tour but least of all falling in love with the former CIA operative that calls to his heart. Nova Blaire was desperate to reach her friend knowing that time was of the essence, time that was hindered by sabotage, injury and the possibility of a target on their backs.

The relationship between Gage and Nova is one of friends to forbidden lovers; co-workers at Redemption Harbor Consulting. Gage has been attracted to Nova since first hearing her voice months earlier; and Nova battles memories of the past where workplace harassment ultimately cost her a job. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Nova’s best friend Layla Ferrer who is desperate to get away from the man with whom she was once in love. All of the previous story line couples are present: Colt Stuart and Skye Arevalo (Resurrection #1), Zac Savage and Olivia Carter (Savage rising #2), Brooks Alexander and Darcy Cooper (Dangerous Witness #3 ), Axel and Hadley (Innocent Target #4) as well as Hadley’s father Douglas Alexander. The requisite evil is two fold including an attack aimed at anyone connected to Brooks Alexander and his father Richard.

HUNTING DANGER is a character driven and edgy story line. The premise is inviting; the characters are charismatic and inspiring; the romance is captivating and seductive. My only complaint is the quick resolution to the story line conflict-I was hoping for a little more romance and suspense.

Katie Reus delivered another great book. Hunting Danger is a stand alone romance, but also part of a series.
The heroine, Nova, receives a message from a childhood friend stating that she's in trouble. Nova flies to her rescue, but Gage isn't about to let her go alone. They end up in trouble themselves, but rescue Nova's friend anyway.
This is a friends to lovers romance between Gage and Nova and is a great addition to the series.

3.5*

HUNTING DANGER is the fifth instalment in Katie Reus’ recent Redemption Harbour romantic suspense series and (finally) tells Nova and Gage’s story. Nova and Gage had been thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable secondary characters in the first four novels, so I was really looking forward to their story. What we got was a fine, but not blow-me-away-awesome quick read that’s a fun way to pass an afternoon but is unlikely to be memorable in the long term. The suspense plot was half-hearted at best and--for two people who have so much chemistry-- the romance was surprisingly tame. Overall, an entertaining way to while away a few hours, but definitely look elsewhere for more substantial RS.

The Story in a Nutshell: When Nova’s childhood friend sends her an unusual message Nova knows she’s in trouble so she asks one of her bosses at Redemption Harbor Consulting for time off. She thinks she can handle her friend’s situation but when computer genius and Nova’s secret crush Gage hacks into her computer to find out what she’s hiding, he sees that she’s in over her head so he tags along with her. Despite his attraction to her, Gage is determined not to cross the employer/employee line but he doesn’t want her facing off with a dangerous enemy who won’t hesitate to kill them if he gets the chance.

Overall reaction to the story? This series has the action and adventure that I love and combines it with capable female characters that make my day. Hunting Danger FINALLY gives readers Gage and Nova’s romance that has been building up since she sassed him over the phone a few books back.

Nova was a blast. Confident, capable, and willing to do whatever she had to in order to save her friend. She’s loyal to a fault and while she did make the foolish decision to try and save the day on her own in the beginning, she wasn’t arrogant enough to keep thinking she could do it on her own. She accepted help when she needed it but wasn’t going to sit back and let others do the heavy lifting without her. I loved that she pulled her own weight and while she was used to office work, she could totally pull off field work.

Gage spends a lot of time trying to talk himself out of acting on his attraction to Nova because he has this hang up about him technically being her boss and an imbalance of power which I gotta say made him sexier to me. He doesn’t abuse his authority but he does take charge of a situation if he feels he has to. Gage is a good guy, a protector at heart, a solid friend, and he’s smart enough to never treat Nova like she’s incapable of handling herself in a dangerous situation. I liked him because he could protect without smothering Nova. He knew her strengths and helped her use them to their advantage. Gage was the perfect combination of brains and brawn with a dash of humor. I loved him.

By the time Hunting Danger begins Gage is pretty sure he’s in love with Nova which put a different spin on their relationship. Once he realizes that resisting her is useless he doesn’t hesitate to romance her even though they’re in tough situation after tough situation. Who knew danger could be so romantic right? Nova’s hesitation to get serious so quick with Gage presented a mild obstacle but it did keep their romance from feeling like insta-love. All in all I was satisfied with the way their romance played out.

The one thing I did have a bit of a problem with was how quickly everything was wrapped up at the end with the villain. The tension of the conflict was built up so well and then all of a sudden bad guy is dealt with and everyone is moving onto a much larger conflict. It felt very rushed to me which was a tad disappointing. I’m used to a more fulfilling ending in these books I guess. Though I am eager to see what the next book brings because it looks like it’s gonna be one heck of a battle with a very difficult adversary.

Click It or Skip It? Click it. Despite what I felt was a rushed ending, Hunting Danger is still a satisfying read. It has all of the suspense and danger I love in a Katie Reus book along with great characters.

This was the first book in the series that I'd read and honestly, I think it would have been better had I read the previous books. There's significant backstory that gets brought up as well as plays a role in the plot that would have made more sense had I read the other books.

This is a friends/co-workers-to-lovers story that's kind of a slow-burn. Overall, the drama wasn't too complicated or over-the-top, which was fine, but it did seem to resolve a little too neatly. I guess I like I little more suspense with my romantic suspense.

This was good enough that I'll probably try to go back and read the previous books at some point (TBR problems are real).

The fast paced action and suspense in Gage and Nova's story is off the charts good! While Gage has both brains and brawn, he is one of the bosses and the computer geek at Redemption Harbor Consulting. Gage has a thing for Nova, but as her boss, keeps a distance. She is also former CIA and a strong woman in her own right. The story takes on a life of its own as they work together to find and save Nova's friend. The suspenseful romance as well as the pacing of the story, kept me as a reader flipping those pages to see Gage and Nova get their HEA. I enjoyed it greatly and would like to thank NetGalley and KRPress LLC for gifting me "Hunting Danger". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars!

Hunting Danger by Katie Reus is book 5 in the Redemption Harbor series. This is the story of Nova and Gage. I have read the previous book but feel this can be a standalone book.
Nova gets a message from her best friend and former foster sister that alerts her that her friend Layla might be in danger. Gage a fellow Redemption Harbor Consulting personal knows when Nova takes time off that something is up...goes forward with following up on her. This starts them on an dangerous adventure that moves their feelings to the forefront.
Exciting Read! Loved it.

3.5 Stars. I was really looking forward to Gage and Nova's story and maybe my expectations were just too high but while I enjoyed this book I just didn't love it like I thought I would. This is book 5 in the Redemption Harbor series and could be read as a stand alone as most of the book doesn't take place in Redemption Harbor and the other characters only play a minor roll.

I really liked the banter and chemistry between Gage and Nova in the previous books and I think that is what I missed the most about this book. Nova is heading out to help out a friend in trouble and Gage tags along because he thinks it may be more dangerous then Nova is willing to admit. The action takes off quickly in this book and Gage and Nova are pulled into the middle of a dangerous situation. Gage refuses to act on his feelings for Nova because "he's not good enough for her" and he's kind of her boss. This was the part I just didn't believe plus I really hate the whole "I'm not good enough for him/her" martyr plot.

Gabe and Nova are a good match and I like them together although again I missed the bantering and flirting that we saw in previous books. There was plenty of action although the end was wrapped up pretty quickly. Still overall, I did enjoy this book and it's a good addition to the series.

Terrific!

A great continuation to the Redemption Harbor series. I really enjoyed Nova and Gage finally getting their story and how they came to be. Action, suspense, drama and sweetness.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Even though I love Katie Reus and this series, Hunting Danger was a miss for me. I had issues with the actions of the hero and the heroine. I also felt like there were some plot holes.

Action, suspense, romance and love. Hunting Danger by Katie Reus has it all !!!

The tension that’s created between the characters keeps you hooked and there’s enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The plot is fulled of action, bad guys, alpha males, and strong women. The later is something I always appreciate this author doing.
The characters are complex and imperfect. Lastly, as with many of Ms Reus books, a reminder that life is not black and white, but varying shades of gray. When one is put in a dangerous position , drastic measures need to be taken to survive.

Such a well written storyline . The story starts out great from the beginning and doesn't stop till the end . I really enjoyed this story . I know I'll be reading more from
Katie Reus . She writes outstanding stories .

I can’t recommend this book (and series) highly enough. Gripping from start to finish.

I love this series and so excited that Gage and Nova get their book! It was great that when Nova got the SOS from her friend Layla, she immediately went to help her. Good thing that Gage tagged along and helped her with the rescue.

Even though Nova had a rough upbringing, she really improved her life and learned to take care of herself. It was great that when faced with death, she was able to save herself.

The book had lots of action and romance so it was hard to put down. I enjoy a bit of intrigue with my romance stories. I love when books include previous couples in their story, and I am looking forward to the next in the series!

We finally get Nova and Gage’s story :) These two have been cute side characters in the past and I've been curious about their story for a while. When Nova finds herself in more trouble than she planned on, while trying to help a friend, things between her and Gage finally reach the breaking point.

Gage finds out that Nova is heading out into a possibly dangerous situation alone, so he tags along to watch her back. He says it’s because they’re a team and friends, right? But no matter how many times he says it, it doesn't erase the burning pull and intense attraction he feels for her. And when it looks like Nova is into him as much as he is to her, suddenly them being together isn't so impossible anymore.

Nova and Gage were well matched, I really liked them together as a couple but the romance was a bit sparse in this one (and this could just be me because I was really looking forward to this one, so expectations might have been too high) but I wish there had been more bantering and flirting between them. The action/suspense felt a bit too tame and rushed in the end too. So although I liked it, I’m bummed I didn’t love it. Still the writing was great and overall it was a good addition to the series.

Wonder what’s in store for Levi and if he’ll be next!

Hunting Danger takes place is Katie Reus’s Redemption Harbor series which I have thoroughly enjoyed. It was an easy read for me, and even though I recognized most of the characters from previous books, this can totally be read as a standalone. A romantic suspense with a cute couple, a little intrigue and a good plot! What’s not to love!

Hunting Danger is the 5th installment of the Redemption Harbor series; you can read this as a stand alone! Gage and Nova's story really doesn't even take place in Redemption Harbor and most of the previous characters are just background.

Nova's best friend is in trouble and needs help. Nova plans to go to Montana and help her friend, but Gage isn't going to let her go alone. However, they don't actually make it safely and struggle to get to Nova's friend's aid. Then there is the real problem of getting her friend away from her crazy fiancee! Even with Nova's CIA background, she never could have helped Layla on her own. If Gage hadn't been there, she would have died for sure! The danger is very real and I enjoyed that aspect a great deal.

Gage was a bit frustrating because he loves Nova but won't do anything. He feels that she is far too good for him, that he can't cross that line because he is kind of her boss, blah blah blah. I'm really over men who play the martyr. You love her, she loves you-everything else can be managed. Instead, Gage makes them both sad and miserable by denying their feelings. Ugh! Men!

Gage's irritating man behavior aside, I loved the plot of the story. Lots of action keeps the story propelling forward and you are just along for the ride! Hunting Danger is one of those romantic suspense books that I love-nice balance between danger and romance, and real life danger.

I enjoyed Nova and Gage's love story, especially the epilogue. Hunting Danger was action-packed and had the perfect mix of suspense and romance. I look forward to the next book in the Redemption Harbor series.

Hunting Danger was another great entry to redemption harbor series. This was the story of Gage and Nova. As always Reus throws all the right ingredients into the bowl and cooks up a storm as Nova heads off to help out her best friend, Layla and soon discovers Gage has invited himself along for the ride. We have a little of the forbidden going on with this one as well with Gage seeing himself as Nova’s boss, he feels it’s unprofessional to start anything up with her, especially as he knows he would be in it for keeps, and can’t be 100% sure whether Nova feels the same way. Another rip-roaring adventure, non-stop action, thrill and spills aplenty, and as always a stellar romance, which oozes chemistry between the leads. I cannot wait to return to Redemption Harbor for the sixth book; Covert Games due for release in January 2019.

I just love a story where the man is the one falling, where he is protective (in a manly, non-irritating way :) of course). And I got a story that I love. This is filled with action and sweetness, danger and heat. Katie Reus wrote a quick-paced novel that plunges the reader right into the action.

Gage and Nova are engaging characters that the reader will like. Nova is clever without being obnoxious. Gage is the boss without being obnoxious. Together they make a perfect pair.

If you had to read this without reading the others in the series, you'd make it ok. However, to enjoy this book to the fullest, please read the other books. There are tidbits that drop as well as big characters that you'd be better off reading in order. Plus, getting to know the characters before they get their own novel adds to the enjoyment.

Hunting Danger (Redemption Harbor, #5) by Katie Reus is a romantic suspense that can be read as a stand alone. The anticipation leading up to these two characters was so worth it! Gage and Nova explode off the pages with action and adventure in a thrilling romance. This author always writes a fantastic romantic suspense that checks off all the categories for me. I recommend this book as well as any of the Redemption Harbor Series.

Fast paced with suspense, action and romance in a perfect blend is a true description of Hunting Danger by Katie Reus. No longer able to avoid their attraction, Nova and Gage still manage to have a pull and push relationship for much of the story. This made their relationship realistic and true when both make up their minds. I loved the epilogue, which is so wonderful especially since Gage has trouble expressing his emotions according to Nova.

The danger comes from a friendship problem instead of through their work at Redemption Harbor Consulting. It is no less dangerous, with other unforeseen forces causing problems too. There are enough twists in the story to keep it interesting with the “hillbilly” danger being one that I would have liked to have been expanded. As for Nova’s and Gage’s romance, it is one of my favorites in the series; building in a satisfying way between the two.

Hunting Danger is number 5 in the series but reads well as a stand-alone. Fans of romantic suspense will enjoy the series but will especially enjoy Hunting Danger where friendship takes precedence.
