I enjoyed this book a lot, primarily because I liked Gage and Nova a lot. Both characters are my favorite types: Nova, the strong, independent heroine who can kick ass all by herself, and Gage, the growly alpha male who wants to make sure she doesn't have to. I enjoyed every part of their action-packed story. I've only read one other story in this series, but I'd definitely like to go back and read them in order so that I can get the full effect.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author/KR Press for generously providing an ARC for review.
This is the fifth book in the Redemption Harbour series and does not disappoint. Katie Reus weaves an intricate plot with intrigue, suspense and drama. I loved reading Gage and Nova’s story. They so deserved a HEA and were perfect for each other one. Can’t wait for the next book.
I received this ARC for an honest review.
Like the other books in this series, this is filled with plenty of action, drama, suspense and steamy chemistry.
Nova and Gage have had a thing for each other since their first phone conversation when he was completely rude and she told him off. As coworkers and Gage her almost boss, he refuses to act on his attraction to her. When Nova sets off to help a friend in distress, Gage invites himself along and they soon find themselves in a mess of epic proportions. And that’s all it takes for the walls around them to collapse.
While I may not have been completely convinced of Gage’s reasoning for staying away from Nova, there is no denying he is one delicious jealous, protective and obsessed hero. Despite the fact that she can take care of herself, he has a deep seated need to protect and care for her. Nova is completely independent and more than capable of her own protection but it does feel good to know that Gage has her back. And once she finally got her foot through Gage’s proverbial door she was going to go for it all.
This had a bit of push and pull to it as well as chase from each main character at different times. With all the drama surrounding this couple, this story moved very quickly. Gage and Nova were both very likable and the heat factor between them was intense and felt real. The resolution of their problems regarding the bad guy seemed a bit forced, and rushed but I loved the epilogue and was more than satisfied when this story ended.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great release in the Redemption Harbor series by Katie Reus. This is the 5th release. This one has Gage and Nova as our H/h. Gage is the super hacker with Redemption Harbor Consulting and Nova is the admin he has had a crush on since they met.
Nova gets an SOS from her best friend and she borrows the company jet to go to the rescue and Gage goes along to keep her safe. The adventure starts from there and the story goes at a nice pace. Gage and Nova are a great couple and they both just needed to admit their feelings for each other to see they both wanted the same thing.
We get to see all the other players of RHC working together but this can be read as a stand-alone. This was another great action pack with a nice romance on the side release by KR and I look forward to the next on in the series.
4.25 stars.
Five books in and this series shows no signs of slowing down as Katie Reus treats us to Nova and Gage and a hint of the verboten being that he’s one of her bosses at Redemption Harbour Consulting.
“I can’t get enough of you.”
As always Reus throws all the right ingredients into the bowl and cooks up a storm as Nova heads off to help out her best friend, Layla and soon discovers Gage has invited himself along for the ride. And a ride it is as they finally cross the line whilst also finding themselves in a couple of precarious situations.
“...she was this bright, wild star that had come into his life, and the fact that he was even thinking in such stupid terms told him how far he’d fallen.”
Whilst easily a standalone, with each book Reus gives us a little more from the team and that itself you don’t want to miss out on. In the meantime I’ll just be over here, (im)patiently waiting for Covert Games to land. Not too long a wait.
This series is a must read. They are all so well written they are a joy to read. This one is full of compelling twists and heart stopping moments. The mountain lion was enough to make your heart race. I had a laugh with the "Sweet flying puppies!"
Love this author and the stories she writes and this one was no exception. Gage and Nova were perfect for each other one complimented the other so well. Love that we got to visit some old friends in this series, what I especially love about this authors heroines is they are not typical damsels in distress, they fight back.
I loved watching Gage and Nova surrender to their feelings! Tangling with that discovery is a whole heap of obstacles from plane crashes, bad guys with a grudge, and the cartel, these two deserve their happy ending. This is a book within the series and while the reader may give pause when certain details lol up, they will in no way find the reading experience compromised. I have to say I'm looking forward to catching up and then seeing what happens to Nova 's best friend.
It's sad that they needed a code phrase growing up, but it's also pretty cool.
Handy.
Aw, have a little faith, Gage.
Abusive boyfriends and crooked agents, oh my.
Say what? That's a passenger's worst nightmare.
it was the shock. Sure.
Um, she is aptly named at this moment. That was straight off of PBS.
It's good to have friends in high places.
I would have told her boss's wife.
This douchebag really thinks women are stupid.
Dammit, Layla!
Brooks and Skye are fun.
Leighton tried to kiss a gay woman?
What a psycho.
The lady can take care of herself!
That's true love right there.
Haha, it's a competition!
Omigod, alcohol is like truth serum to her. It's so funny!
So cool! I want a nerdy proposal!
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed Hunting Danger. From the first page the story and characters were interesting. This is the 5th book in the Redemption Harbor series and when I first started reading I didn’t feel lost. There were parts where The author could of done a much better job explaining the history of the series and past events in the series, but those parts that I did feel lost didn’t effect the overall storyline, but did effect my overall enjoyment of the book.
Gage and Nova had good chemistry, and banter between them. They were fun and sexy, while the story was suspenseful and full of angst at time, it was a good balance. I will definitely be checking out the rest of this series.
Hunting Danger (Redemption Harbor, #5) by Katie Reus ... This is the 5th Redemption Harbor book and it was as good as the other 4... Nova and Gage have lusted after each other for a long time and never would make a move. Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. When Nova is going to go help her best friend and foster sister who is in some kind of trouble Gage decides he will go with her. I hated to put the book down it kept me turning pages... so much fun to touch base with the others from Redemption Harbor and enjoy the suspense, laughter, tears, steamy sex and fast paced action.... all leading to a HEA... I can't wait for the next book.
I was looking forward to Gage and Nova's story. They have gone from verbally sparring to friends since she joined the Redemption Harbor team as their assistant. But as an ex-CIA agent, she has her own skills. She is outspoken, sarcastic, clever, and caring. They have been pushing each other's buttons since their first interaction.
But in Gage's eyes, she is off limits to him because he is one of the owners and they are friends. Gage is the team computer whiz and tech guru. He is sexy, smart, adaptable, and protective. He has his issues that make him put up walls, but Nova has the ability to chip away at them.
When Nova's best friend is in trouble, he will not let her go without back up. And when things get more dangerous and complicated than they could imagine, they will have to prove they trust each other and rely on the other. With adrenaline and emotions running high, it will be hard to avoid their sizzling chemistry and attraction. But while dealing with their own personal issues, they are also trying to save her friend and deal with new enemies.
Gage will stop at nothing to keep her safe, but will he be able to? And will he be able to trust her with his heart?
This brings back most of the Redemption Harbor group and some of their contacts in other agencies. It is told in multiple points of view giving us insight to the antagonist as well as protagonists. It is a sexy and suspenseful friends-to-lovers story. They are likable and have snappy banter and hot chemistry. I thought it started out really strong with some surprises I did not see coming, but then it kind of moved a bit fast towards the last half. I would have liked a bit more development in the transition in their relationship and in the resolution of the plot. But I enjoyed the story and and loved Gage and Nova together. I like that these can be read as stand-alones, but I love seeing the characters interact and crossover. Leighton is featured prominently in this one and his book will be the next one in the series.
Nova works for Redemption Harbor Security and when her best friend messages her about needing help, she borrows a plane from her boss and goes to her. Gage is the hacker of the team and has been attracted to Nova since he first heard her voice on the phone.. But he won’t act on it because he is sort of one of her bosses. He goes with her to help get her friend away from her fiancé. The boyfriend is into a lot of bad things and after Nova’s friend saw him kill someone, she knows he’s not the man she planned to marry. Getting her away and in protection becomes a car chase and shootout.
Nova wants a relationship with Gage but when he turns her down, she decides to quit waiting on him and get on with her life. Gage finally realizes he wants everything from Nova but will he be too late?
Great story. Action, a little steamy, and some funny stuff. It’s not long and I didn’t want to give too much away so that’s why my review is short. I love Ms. Reus books and can’t wait to see what happens next with this team.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley *
First up, I’d just like to thank Netgalley and Katie Reus for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review!
Wow, what an amazing book, it had everything I expect when I read Katie’s work, intense chemistry between the characters, suspenseful situations that one has to fight to get out of and a great plot:)
I’ve been keen to get this story since this series started as it was clear Gage and Nova had an intense attraction and were fighting against the chemistry they knew they’d have if they got together! However, Gage was clearly in denial as he didn’t want to cross the boss/employee relationship with Nova. When Nova’s foster sister and best friend from childhood contacts her, she immediately knows something is wrong and sets out to see her. When Gage discovers what she’s up to and investigates further, he decides to be her backup as he feels quite protective of Nova, even though she can look after herself!
Loved this story and I hope Leighton is next to fall......perhaps with Nova’s bestie Layla?!? Great read, I would definitely recommend anything by this author and this series has been fantastic so far it’s worth a read:)
Each book has been great in this series and this one certainly did not disappoint. Gage has been one of my favorite characters and Nova is the perfect fit for him. There is sexual tension, mystery, intrigue and lots of action. Will they finally be together or will a madman tear them apart before they even get started? The storyline flows and the characters are well written. She never disappoints and has such a unique style that draws you in. Looking forward to the next book.
Hunting Danger, started out with me thinking WTH, and ended that way also. So now I definitely need to read the next book in this series to see what happens next.
I love this series!! Nova and Gage have been circling each other since Skye hired Nova. When she tries to go off on her own Gage was not about to let that happen. They are so good together. Nova can take care of herself however Gage always has her back. This is a story full of action and adventure. Another great story from Katie Reus.
This is the second in this series that I’ve read, and while I enjoyed it, I felt like there wasn’t enough build up for the main characters’ love story. The action was jam packed, however, and since I was in the mood for a good romantic suspense story, this satisfied the craving.
3.5 stars.
Ex CIA agent Nova Blair has been working as an executive assistant at Redemption Harbor Consulting for 2 years. Redemption Harbor Consulting is an organization that helps people get out of bad situations or people who can’t turn to the law for help. Nova’s best friend from childhood has texted her with a code phrase within the text that tells Nova that something is very wrong. She plans to go help her but doesn’t want to involve her employer. Her boss Gage Yates finds out something is up and isn’t about to let Nova put herself in possible anger. Gage has been attracted to Nova from the beginning but hasn’t acted on it.
This is part of the Redemption Harbor series but could be read as a stand alone. The suspense in this book starts at the first page and keeps til the end. There is also a romance in the book. I have read other books. In the series and this one was a good addition. I look forward to another book in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
Another great book of the men and women of Redemption Harbor. We have been waiting on Gage and Nova’s book and even though this one was shorter than the others it still packed a punch. The action is non-stop and the dialog is snarky and witty. Their “no we shouldn’t, well maybe we could” had me wanting to yell “you definitely should”. The suspense of when was as good as the suspense of the story itself.
