I liked this - but it is a change from Morgan's previous books, and that takes a bit of getting your head around. This is the story of three sisters, all marked by a childhood tragedy, finding each other and themselves again at Christmas. I found the first section hard going - I actually started this last christmas and couldn't get into it and gave up and have come back for a second go this autumn - and the problem was mostly that I didn't like either of the two American sisters and didn't want to spend any time with them as I wasn't sure where their stories were going. Because this is women's fiction, not romance, I didn't know whether I was going to get a happy/good resolution or was committing myself to spending several hudnred pages in the company of characters that I didn't like. But once I'd got past that, it settled down and I started to enjoy it more, although all three stories felt a like they could have used more time and depth - but that's hard to do with three stories in the constraints of a novel this length. It was fine, but I prefer Morgan's romances.

I enjoyed this book, I did find the layout of chapters about each character meant that initially it took a while to feel invested in the characters storylines but once each character was laid out it was nice to see them begin to interlink as they travelled home and had to mix together as three very different sisters with a broad range of lifestyles
Was nice to see how problems brought them together and how assumptions about people can make you alter their lifestyle from what it might actually be
Great book that I would recommend to others

The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan. A really nice, easy and comfortable novel about three very different sisters, Posy, Hannah and Beth. Each one thinking that the other two are happy and have their lives sorted. When they all go home for Christmas some cracks begin to appear. Mostly set in the Scottish Highlands, snow, tartan and shortbread!! Very Christmassy.

Sarah Morgan has definitely got me in the festive mood with this beautifully written, heart tugging family drama.
Suzanne and husband Stewart are looking forward to spending the perfect Christmas with their three daughters, Beth is married to Jason and has two daughters. Hannah is the distant one always putting her career first, Posy the baby of the family works with her mother in the cafe and has stayed in the Scottish Highlands. Family are expecting her to take over the cafe but is that what she really wants?
Christmas is a time when Suzanne dwells on an accident that happened 25 years ago which killed the girls birth parents Cheryl and Rob. Suzanne a close friend of Cheryl was with them on a mountain climb when they both died. Suzanne had promised to take on the girls if anything happened to them.
Suzanne has gone out of her way to prepare for the perfect Christmas, with decorations, food and making their home warm and inviting. But all 3 sisters are hiding their own problems which causes tension. Can they rally together as a family to overcome this and have a wonderful Christmas.
I adored this book and couldn’t recommend it enough. With its vivid descriptions and the characters really came to life and I could picture myself sitting in the pub in front of the log burning fire!!

A heartwarming, quick, easy read, covering my favourite time of year - christmas! The family dynamic made this an enjoyable read that would be relatable for quite a few women out there.

Even though this was quite slow to start, I loved this book. I have read several of Sarah's previous books, but I loved the dynamic between the three sisters and the reticence amongst them. The role of the parents was pivotal and I just wanted them all to have their happy-ever-after. Taking advice from the sisters and each sister perhaps not having their traditional role in the end contributed to a heart-warming Christmas read. Had considerably more substance than many Christmas books and was more about family and relationships than some of the lighter reads around. Wonderful

Told in the third person, The Christmas Sisters is the story of three sisters, with different things going on in their lives, coming home to their adoptive parents home, the Glensay Lodge, in the Scottish Highlands, for what turns out to be a healing Christmas reunion.
Twenty-five years ago, their parents died in an accident, which almost took their adoptive mother, Suzanne, as well. Suzanne suffers from survivor's guilt to this day, and the story begins with Suzanne having a nightmare about the accident. Her wonderful husband, Stewart, calms her as he has done these last twenty-five years.
Posy, the youngest, lives in the loft of a converted barn in the grounds of the Glensay Lodge where they grew up. She works in Suzanne's busy cafe, and helps with the animals. Everyone expects her to take over the cafe when Suzanne retires. Posy is adventurous, a good climber like her father, but she feels tied to Suzanne and Stewart out of a sense of duty. An opportunity has come up for her, but she is worried about hurting her parents who have done so much for her and her sisters.
The middle child, Beth, has been a stay-at-home parent for seven years and feels isolated in that role. Everyone else has adult conversations, but her day revolves around the children and their needs. Beth has been offered the opportunity to work for her old boss in her new company, and sees this as a way of regaining some of herself.
Hannah, the eldest, is the typical, single, high-achieving career woman. She is closer to Stewart than Suzanne, and whilst she thinks of them as her parents, she does not call Suzanne 'Mom'. This hurts Suzanne, but she would never say so. Beth thinks Hannah has the perfect life. Except she doesn't. Hannah, despite her outward appearance, has major insecurities. She has been seeing a work colleague, Adam, on the quiet, and an unexpected turn of events sees her rushing home for the holidays.
This is a lovely story about family, whether related by blood or not. The sisters finally open up to each other, and learn a lot about each other and themselves. We see barriers being broken down, the girls supporting each other and Suzanne, and what promises to be the best Christmas in a long time.
I chose to read this book based on my enjoyment of Sleigh Bells in the Snow, and having read excerpts from several of Morgan's other books. However, I was slightly disappointed with my choice. Whilst what I had read before had engaged me from the start, I found The Christmas Sisters took me a while to get into. There are lots of issues to resolve, and it does have a happy ending, but it lacked early momentum that would have had me on board from the start.

A perfect festive read. This book really evokes the magic of Christmas. Another absolute treat for Sarah Morgan fans. I’d highly recommend this to any rom com fan!

A fab festive fun read. Perfect for curling up in front of the fire with on a chilly Christmas night. A reall feel good read!

Such a feel good festive read! Great to curl up and read on those cold winter nights in front of the fire! I really enjoyed it!

Lovely, Christmassy, warmth. One of those books you want to read in front of a roaring fire snuggled under a blanket with a mug of hot chocolate. Great read.

A charming, feel good story about family, it’s writing, pacing and plot will make this a cosy read leading up to the chilly months and the festive season.

What a delightful book this is, and it can be read at anytime of they year, not just Christmas. I loved following the journey of the three sisters and their family. I found that it kept my interest right up until the end. It was captivating the way it was portrayed as to illustrate what happens as a young child creates such emotional responses and barriers as you get older. A beautiful, interesting read, I'll now be reading more books by Sarah.

What a lovely feel good book! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Suzanne and Stewart are looking forward to having their three girls home and together for Christmas. Hannah and Beth live in New York while Posy lives at home. It soon becomes apparent that they each have issues that stem back to an accident 25 years ago.
The book transports you to the Scottish highlands where you will be surrounded by mountains, snow and glorious scenery. Suzanne and Stewart are so welcoming you feel as though you are part of the family.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

The Christmas sisters is all about three sisters Posy, Beth and Hannah and their parents Stewart and Suzanne. At the start of the book Suzanne is having a recurring nightmare about being buried in an avalanche and we later find that she was the only one to survive and that both of the girls' parents were killed in it and so Suzanne and Stewart adopted them. Posy is the youngest and doesn't have many memories but the oldest Hannah obviously has big issues. Can this trip back to Scotland finally put her fears and insecurities to bed
Another great story by Sarah Morgan I have loved all of her books and this one definitely doesn't disappoint. I enjoyed all of the different points of view telling the story but it was Hannah that I felt for the most she had obviously been troubled all of her life but put a big barrier around herself so as not too show it. Definitely recommended

This was a delightful story, with some great characters and a realistic story line.. Families are complicated entities and the story illustrated this to perfection.. I do love happy endings and this one was a fairy-tale conclusion.

I really enjoyed this book. The setting for it was perfect and the storyline drew me in from start to finish. I liked that the story was told from the 3 sisters and also their Mum. A great story especially for Christmas. I would recommend to others. Loved it.

Just the perfect read for a Christmas holiday - snow, mountains, the Scottish Highlands, three very different sisters and a loving set of parents in Suzanne and Stewart. When two of the sisters are coming back to home for Christmas each has an agenda for the return, whilst the third who lives and works there is wishing for a change of scene. In each we identify anger, loss, sadness and by the end forgiveness. One realises that all is not quite as it seems and therefore, it is definitely is a page turner that will surprise as the story twists to its finale. But the source of their problems is something that occurred in the past. I enjoyed the way Sarah tackled this theme and feel that it is a very different approach to her previous novels but equally well written.

Sarah Morgan does it again and manages to hit us with another fantastic easy reading page turner
Posy, Beth and Hannah three very very different sisters with different views on life all meet together at their parents’ house for Christmas
The book follows the girls just perfectly bringing together a totally feel good book that is great to read when curled up on a cold wet afternoon with an endless supply of tea
Lovely book highly recommended

A lovely feel good read involving love, loss, anger, sadness and forgiveness all rolled up into one great read for the holidays! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would not hesitate to recommend to others. Many thanks to netgalley for an ARC of this book in return for my honest opinion.
