A warming story of three sisters and their past. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, it was engaging and the storyline kept my attention the whole way through. Highly recommended.

Good quick read at Xmas time, I enjoyed it but it wasn't really unforgettable but that's OK too, sometimes you just need a good snowy Xmas tale and this did the trick.

Being n avid reader of Sarah Morgan, i couldn't get to this quick enough although sadly, my review has taken weeks later due to homelife so i cannot apologise enough.
Being one of four sisters this made sense to read and find my connection but there wasn't one, if only we had siblings we could love and have the best of relations with. I loved how the story unfolded and how they all came together following a tragedy and this shows like many families show, that blood isn't always thicker than water to make a family. Lets leave out the technical things. All three sisters have different qualities about themselves and when the story is told about the incident that occurred 25 years ago, the descriptive ways sarah used was totally immersive. I loved it, will keep reading her books until eternity

Gorgeous book about three sisters who are closer than they reaslise yet seem so far apart after a family tragidy when they werw younger.
I loved how Sarah wrote the story alternative from different POVs.
Although the end of the book is based around Christmas and the title clearly states it, i would recommend this book any time ovet winter as its not too heavy on the festivities IMO.
Great storyline about past truths and relationships and current secrets.

I can not imagine the festive season without a new release by the talented Sarah Morgan and Christmas Sisters does not disappoint. There is a new maturity and depth in her books which I love.
An ideal book to read in the run up to Christmas.

This book improved when the four strands of story came together. However, I think one needs an interest in mountains to find this enjoyable.
O found it really annoying that the sisters tell each other that they are doing things because the are sisters and should support each other, not as sisters would do in real life.
There’s the really annoying mother, absent eldest daughter who focuses on work, fussy middle daughter who is too self obsessed to listen to her husband and gets most things wrong and the youngest who is like an overgrown pony story character. Whilst the men are all new men and say exactly what women would like, not what they actually do.
Not one of my favourites.

25 years ago an incident took the life of Posy, Beth and Hannah's parents, and they grew up under the tender care of Suzanne and Stewart in the Scottish Highlands. Each sister comes home with their own set of problems which the book works through in a sensitive and honest way. I found parts of the book a bit frustrating and the sex scene unnecessary however, if you’re looking for an easy, enjoyable read about sisters, family and Christmas, then this definitely delivers, with the added bonus of snowy landscapes to make it all extra christmassy.

This book is a book that reminds you of the importance of family. Christmas is a time when spending time with family can be looked forward to or dreaded. This book takes a fresh look at Christmas and the tug of sibling links despite differences. A really easy read which has the Spirit of Christmas running through it.

I always look forward to a new book from Sarah Morgan and that's especially true when it's one of her Christmas themed stories. Similar to her last book, The Christmas Sisters marks a departure from the authors usual romance heavy reads to focus a little more on family relationships. I will confess I do miss the more traditional romances (and Morgan is sooo good at writing them) but I did very much enjoy this and it's packed full of feels to warm you up in the cold wintry months.

As the title suggests, this is the story of three sisters, Hannah, Beth and Posy, who return to the family home in the Scottish Highlands for the festive season. They are all very different characters but each of them are facing some type of crisis in their lives that they're hoping a trip home will help them deal with (or hide from).

The story is told from each of the sister's points of view in addition to that of their mother Suzanne. I have to confess I'm not keen on multiple povs as I always feel more drawn to one than the others and just want the whole thing to be about them but I did enjoy the different perspectives and how distinctive each of the voices were. They are very different characters but each has their own flaws and strengths and it was wonderful to see them develop in a believable way over the course of the story. It's a mark of the author's skill that I found my opinions towards them shifting and changing over the course of the story.

I did however find myself most drawn to Hannah's story and while the other characters do get an equal share of the limelight I never quite became as invested in their stories. I'm not sure what it says about me but there was just something about Hannah I could really relate to and I wanted the books focus to be more heavily on her.

It wouldn't be a Morgan book without a bit of romance and in this one there are a few romantic relationships representing the various different stages, from new romance to a long term partnership and commitment. However with multiple couples as well as family relationships in the mix I'm afraid the romance side of the story never really did it for me. I didn't feel any particular spark.

The writing is however wonderful as you would expect and there is a real emotional depth to the story. I laughed and I cried (more than I thought I would and on two separate occasions on the train) and I ended up loving it a lot more than I thought I would.

Overall this has an engaging story and is an emotional read that's perfect for the Christmas or pretty much any time of the year.

I received a digital ARC of #TheChristmasSisters from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure about this book initially. I found it a bit of a slow starter as each sister's story and background is introduced. However I did get into it and wanted to read more. I found it quite, unexpectedly, emotional towards the end and did have a tear in my eye a few times. It was very christmassy and I loved the evolving relationship between the three sisters. I would definitely read more by Sarah Morgan in future.

As you may have gathered by now I am a big fan of Sarah Morgan's books. I have read most, if not, all of them and I cannot get enough of them and can be found re-reading them, especially Sleigh Bells in the Snow at this time of year.
As soon as I saw The Christmas Sisters was available to review it was downloaded straight onto my Kindle. However, I saved it to read over Christmas with the Christmas tree up, the lights flashing and the cosy feel of the curtains closed on a cold night.
We have three sisters who all have their own individual issues in their lives and a tragedy that effects them all and one they wish they could forget. However, nothing is at it seems. This is what I adore about Sarah Morgan's books they have a romance or two in the plot but also an emotional backstory to each character. The Christmas Sisters has this in abundance. This a lovely written book with a great plot.
A perfect holiday story. I cannot wait for more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley, for the e-arc copy of this book. As always, thoughts are 100% my own.

I didn't expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. There are so many levels of topic in this and the fact that we get to see it from many different perspectives really helps to ease it all together. I loved that it's a nice soft adult contemporary, but has some heavier topics relating to how different people grieve.
At the heart of it, this story of the McBride family deals with the loss of parents at a young age, learning that grief can still be there 25 years later and that people be affected in different ways, but how they come together in the end and work through their traumas and current relationships with each other was such an emotional and lovely concept.
It had some romance, some scenes I felt were pretty spicy and made me giggle (I'm very immature with that sort of thing, clearly).
I loved that we learnt a little about retrieval dogs, which was relevant to a character's line of work, but it did feel a bit lecturey rather than a casual conversation! I also loved that we got little snippets of our cast in a some what quick succession to begin with. It set the tone and pace interestingly as all the family members live a different way of life but are connected by a horrible incident that haunts their present in some way.
I was rather confused for part of it, like I couldn't understand their history and I couldn't imagine the smaller things like accents (which I find helpful to know) so I was baffled for a while, but I'm glad I persevered.
We follow 4 points of views: Suzanne, Hannah, Beth and Posy. Stewart and Suzanne were so in love and it honestly was like couple goals. After all they'd been through and everything they took on it was just such an aspiring duo... Even their names are perfect together! I love that it started and ended on Suzanne. It was a lovely full circle. Being the true heart of the family it only felt right but I have to say Posy was my favourite character by far. There were a few steamy scenes with Posy in particular. One I was disappointed we only saw the aftermath of and the other that was more "graphic" but left me low-key disappointed in her for because it had come straight off of a very emotional argument. I didn't get how she could just forget all those feelings and suddenly be intimate.
Beth and Hannah both went up in my view. Beth made a strong decision about mid way through that I was ecstatic for and was literally wooping for her strength and Hannah managed to show her feelings more and made me more empathic for her. I ended up caring for all the characters. There were plenty of times where they showed themselves stripped back, being rest and honest and they reminded me of how they would have been as children. It was a really special way of writing and a very well done to the author for being able to do that so well.
There was a double shock that really got me! I was not expecting that to happen but I loved how it mapped out the growth of the characters for the duration of the novel.

Random point, I tried text to speech again on my tablet and didn't last a page; it's so stilted, but I bet it helps people with impaired vision... however overall people would probably prefer actual audio books as I assume they are smoother due to actually being read! I bet this would be amazing read on audio. It would feel like a cosy film, I would think.

As for spoilers, I think I'll do a separate video reviewing this book with a spoiler part at the end, so stay tuned to my YouTube channel for more: Peace&Cookies>(^_^)<

Overall, I've got to say that this book was fantastic. I loved the family we followed and the sense of community the Scottish village had, although that was mainly shown in the first half to probably establish the surroundings. The characters grew, they weren't all likeable at times but they were believable. The story and message about love, loss and grief were beautifully done, with the the backdrop of a cold Scottish Christmas (that really made me feeling chilly) and I'm really happy to have read this. It also meant I finished my first book for the #TisTheSeasonAThon and got me feeling all festive and happy.

Although it's that weird in between time between Christmas and New Year, i love spending time in the run up to, and around Christmas, indulging in some christmassy themed books. They really help me get into the Christmas spirit, and start becoming all excited at the prospect of the Christmas season and all it encompasses. I'm always reluctant at taking down the Christmas decs.

"The Christmas Sisters" ticked every box in my perfect Christmas book. Gorgeous setting - tick - intact it gets a double tick with the setting initially set between both the picturesque Scottish Highlands and a snowy, glittering Manhattan. Easily relatable and warm characters who feel like friends - tick, decent storyline - tick, loads of winter and Christmas spirit - tick.
Aww, this book was just so sweet, without being too sickly. It's a perfect book to get comfy with for some "me time"; switch off your phone, forget everything, and snuggle up under some blankets with a hot chocolate. It's the ideal antidote to the mad and slightly stressful time around Christmas and New Year.

The narration is told from the viewpoint of Suzanne and her three very different daughters - Hannah, Beth and Posy. The only time of year they all get to be together is over Christmas at their family home in the Scottish Highlands. Suzanne is determined to make it as perfect as possible and goes all out with the decorations, food, and evoking a gorgeous cosy and warm atmosphere her girls will feel welcome in.
However, when families get together at Christmas, nothing may be as it appears on the surface. Underneath there are layers of rippling tensions, feelings and issues. Suzanne only hopes these can be pushed aside to make the holidays as memorable and stress free as possible.

I adored this book. I've read a number of Christmas books this year; some good, some not so good. This one had everything I look for in this genre of book and I wouldn't think twice about re reading it again in another cold December. The author wrote in a simple yet evocative way. She made it easy to bring to life the snowy, mountainous scenery and the inhabitants of the village of Glensay. The twinkling fairy lights, the aromas from the Craft Cafe, the warm welcoming pub o ty it's cosy log fire, the beautiful sounding Glensay Lodge...
Everything came perfectly together to create a gorgeous feel good and uplifting book.

With thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK / HQ for the opportunity to read this ARC, in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this christmas story, a perfect heartwarming read for the Christmas holidays. Love reading books by Sarah Morgan, nice and easy to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Having been to both areas mentioned for holidays, I could picture the different life choices. Also, as an only child, it gave me chance to understand the relationships between my partner and his older twin sisters!
The story is very well woven around the main female characters. It was almost a self help book for talking things through rather than bottling them up

A great family Christmas chick lit book.
A bit of a family saga, relationships and Christmas. A quick and easy read. Great book

This was a lovely book. The context of the main characters' hobby is unusual and very interesting to read and learn about. The complications that arise from the main characters' lives both in general and related to their hobby are well written. The ending is a perfect for for the book overall.

I absolutely love Sarah Morgan books and last year's Christmas book, 'Moonlight Over Manhattan, was one of my favourites so I was excited to read this.
However it would appear that she has changed her style somewhat, and sadly if this book is a reflection of the new direction her writing is going in, I won't be reading anymore.
Normally I fly through this author's books but I've had this on the go for over two weeks and haven't finished it,. I've been forcing myself to pick it up which isn't at all usual, and although I only have an hour left, I've decided not to finish it. I've tried much harder to like it than I ordinarily would, purely because it is Sarah Morgan but I'm having to accept it's not for me. I found the switching between four different characters on the chapters didn't enable me to connect with any of them properly and I didn't fall in love with any of the characters as I usually do.
Obviously this new style isn't for me, and that's an entirely personal thing. It may suit others just fine.
