Fun and easy Christmas read - happy endings all round! Would read more by this author if it was available.

‘Tis the Season to be Single by Laura Ziepe was a fun-filled and festive read – the story of three friends who, after various relationship woes, make a pact to be single at Christmas. But what is Christmas without a little kiss under the mistletoe?

The story centres around Rachel, Grace and Amber – three best friends working in the department store Tidemans. I loved the department store setting – it had a proper festive feel to it and unlike some other Christmas books, this one truly felt seasonal. With snowfall, decorations, presents, busy shops and family celebrations, festivities were etched on every page and I loved being able to feel the wintery season all the way through reading this book.

In ‘Tis the Season to be Single, we first meet Rachel as she is about to have an important conversation with her boyfriend, Mark. Whilst she thinks he might be about to propose to her, Mark has other ideas – he wants to break up with her. Seeking comfort in the form of her friend Bianca, Rachel suffers another kick in the teeth as she discovers Mark and Bianca have, been having an affair.

At the same time, Grace has had enough. She can no longer cope with the laziness of her husband Simon, and really, when was the last time he made her feel loved or appreciated? She had spent all her time tidying up after him – there was no romance left. After ending things with him, she joins Rachel in being newly single for Christmas.

Amber returns from her holiday to find her best friends both single and fed up. Amber is no stranger to being single – commitment is not for her. However, when she hears the news that her lifelong best friend Jack is now engaged, something shifts in Amber. She feels unsettled and unhappy – could she be jealous that Jack has found love with somebody else?

Despite the issues all three women were going through, this was still quite the feel-good read with humour, romance and an honest and endearing friendship at its core. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the story. After recent breakups, it was hard to know whether Rachel, Grace and Amber were going to embrace being free and single on the run-up to Christmas or whether they were going to be down in the dumps over it. Laura Ziepe writes the enjoyable middle ground with a fresh and light-hearted story. Sure, there were times I wanted to shout at some of the characters, but mostly I liked seeing them going on dates and nights out and re-evaluating their lives.

From beginning to end, ‘Tis the Season to be Single kept me engrossed and I enjoyed every chapter. All three women had different and interesting stories and whilst the chapters alternated between the three of them, the friendship between them always shone for me. This was a lovely fast-paced and romantic read that kept me entertained throughout.

This was a great quick read for Christmas. It was similar to Lindsey Kelk and had a great storyline. I also enjoyed reading about the characters and what they were going through.

A light hearted book that explores three women in three very different relationships: one has settled, one is not being appreciated and one hasn’t seen what’s staring her in the face!!

An easy read that was not challenging yet made you look at relationships from different perspectives. I particularly enjoyed the mothers’ involvement in the story!

‘Tis The Season To Be Single focuses on Rachel, Grace and Amber. They all work together in a big department store and have grown to be very close friends. When they all suddenly find themselves single at Christmas, they make a pact to go to the annual work ball together. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned.

This book is told from the point of view of all three women. Grace has realised she’s not happy in her marriage. Rachel has recently discovered that her boyfriend hasn’t been faithful and Amber says she actually doesn’t mind being single and doesn’t want a serious relationship.

Each character has a distinct point of view and voice. They were all very likeable, flawed yet wonderful characters and it didn’t take long before I got invested in their story.

I am a sucker for a book set at Christmas but the season didn’t overwhelm the book. It simply added a touch of magic to it.

The plot was divided well between all three characters. Also, there were few twists in the story. I thought it was going to go one way and then it would go in an unexpected direction.

One of the things I love most about this time of year is that I have the opportunity to read books like this.

‘Tis The Season To Be Single is about how important friendships are, how making tough decisions can be the best thing and how people can make you feel better when you least expect it.

It’s full of love, romance, misunderstandings, friendship, humour and Christmas! I loved it.

It was my first time reading a book from the lovely Laura Ziepe and I really enjoyed her writing style. I connected with Rachel, Grace and Amber from the get go and all for different reasons. I understood the hurt that Rachel had been through and was right with her as she dealt with the onslaught of emotions that came from her breakup. I was rooting for her to rise above and get through it. Grace I think had to be my favourite. I liked her sweet nature and her story pulled at my heart strings. It made me incredibly happy to see her stand up for herself with her husband and also see them fight for each other. It was truly endearing seeing them rekindle their romance. I liked that Amber was the more independent and confident out of the three ladies. Her attitude towards going after what she wanted was inspiring; she didn't feel that it had to be the man that made the first move all the time. Furthermore, her relationship with her best friend, Jack, was heartwarming; their banter had me smiling and feeling all warm inside.

This book makes for a wonderful festive read, however it's most certainly one that can be enjoyed all year round. The girls have a strong friendship with plenty of looking out for each other as they navigate the ups and downs of breakups, marriages and falling in love with your best friend.

A light and fun read revolving around three women in different stages of their lives, struggling with different romantic situations. The outcome of the book was everything I had wanted and was incredibly heart-warming!

This is a lovely story of a few friends who had their ahem quite bad experiences on their love life and it is such a chill read I love it! such a light-hearted read for you when you just need to relax and de-stress.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this book and didn't manage to finish it. I didn't enjoy the writing style and didn't think that the characters had enough depth.

Good. Enjoyed the story and the characters and enjoyed going on their individual stories and how it developed. Easy to read and a nice seasonal read.

This was a must-read book for me for so many reasons! Tis The Season to Be Single as Laura Ziepe names her book!! I had to laugh at the title as I am usually single at this time of year too! Whomever designed the cover deserves props as it was such a fun loving cover that caught my eye. Overall it was a very fun read!!
Right away Laura immerses you into the story and grabs your attention. I love when authors does this!! This was an incredible storyline!! So much drama I loved it! I was reading a prime time soap opera! Rachel and Mark were living together and she thought they would be together forever. Until one night when she thought he was going to propose. Nope he had other plans!! Hence the title! Laura puts a twist on the reason for the break up and it is a very juicy one that will test friendships! Then you have Grace and her husband who is taking advantage of her and walking all over her. She wants out. This is a huge wake up call for him!! Like I said Laura is an amazing story teller!!

This book is dedicated to the three loves in her life her husband Terry, her beautiful twins Harry and Darcey.

Really enjoyed this story of three friends being single at Christmas. They all had their own journey of discovery, and I loved being along for the ride. Excellent story, and believable characters.

Rachael has just received a phone call from her boyfriend of three years. He says they need to talk. She wonders what could be so important that her boyfriend would choose to speak to her about it in person. Her friend, Grace tries to assuage her concerns—she thinks he wants to propose to Rachael.
When they finally meet, he tells her he is breaking up with her. Her world is suddenly turned upside down. To make matters worse she discovers her ex-boyfriend has been cheating on her with someone very close to her.

Grace and her husband, Simon have tried, unsuccessfully, to have a child. Lately, her marriage has gone stale: her husband treats her like a doormat. He doesn’t treat her the way he used to when they first met. Whereas he used to be spontaneous and adventurous, now he’s become complacent, not putting any effort and expecting Grace to do all the work. After trying to get her husband to talk about their marriage without success, she decides to take a break from her marriage.

Amber has just returned from her three-week vacation in Thailand to find her friends, Rachael and Grace looking gloomy. She isn’t bothered about getting married and couldn't care less about having children either. Until her best friend, Jack announces to Amber that he’s getting married. ‘Tis the Season to be Single is a fresh mix of romance, friendship, love, and family. I really enjoyed this book—it is a light and fun read for the holiday season. The characters are interesting and relatable. I liked how Simon fought to save his marriage when he realized he was going to lose Grace if he didn’t put any effort. Overall an entertaining read and I will read more books from this author.

This was not my usual type of read as I prefer my reading material to be more on the gritty side however this was a fantastically entertaining read following the messed up love lives of 3 friends - Rachel (boyfriend has left her stating he is no longer in love with her but is apparently in love with her best friend), Grace (in the process of leaving her lazy and unappreciative husband) and Amber (happy singleton whose best friend Jack has just announced that he is marrying his girlfriend leaving Amber to wonder why she is not happy about this).
Feeling disillusioned with their respective romantic disasters the girls make a pact to remain single and ban all romantic entanglements until the New Year - but will any of them be able to stick to the pact?
I really enjoyed this book - easy to get in to, a lovely festive atmosphere and and a great writing style. 4.5 stars and an author I will look forward to reading again.

A really easy enjoyable feel good read set around Christmas about 3 friends and their relationships.

All the characters are likeable and you can definitely relate to all of them. The book has a good storyline and I couldn’t wait for the opportunity when I had a free moment to pick it up and read it. Looking forward to trying more books from this author.

A story of three friends/workmates who find themselves vowing to remain single in the lead up to their Christmas ball after being disappointed in love, this book had me hooked from the first page and had me rooting for their happy endings.
A fun festive read, my first of the season, and I will definitely be looking out for other titles by this author.

First book I read from Laura Ziepe and that won't be the last! Mark my word! I am giving this book a 4,5 stars out of 5! I loved this book so much! It was extremely enjoyable to read and the I loved the writing style of the author. This is the story of 3 friends, Rachel, Grace and Amber. Rachel is newly single after learning that her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, Grace is also newly separated from her husband who is no longer taking good care of her and who taking her for granted. As for Amber, she is the eternal single who declares to enjoy the singleton life. But how long will these girls will stay single? This is a story about love, friendship and trust and I enjoyed every single line of this book! I urge you to read it! And even though this book takes place around the Christmas season, the Christmas theme is not the most important part of the book and therefore this can be read all year round!

Fun read set around three friends in the run up to Christmas - each single near the very start of the book, and following their stories up to the Christmas ball where they all work.

My first Christmas book of the season. Very enjoyable, fun, funny and frank. I loved the characters and the situations they were in. Although it was fairly obvious where things were going - excluding Nick's character - but well worth reading over Christmas.

Oh this is super fun!! I have to admit that I was a little bit apprehensive at first because i just couldn’t work out what everyone’s fixation with being in a relationship was! I know that some people don’t like being single, but just because some don’t, it doesn’t mean that everyone is going to. Plus, why should there be emphasis on a woman needing a man to make her complete?

Anyway, before I go off on a rant, I am so pleased that Laura Ziepe allowed her characters to take a step back from relationships to find out where they truly fit in. Okay, one of her characters didn’t really have a choice (even if he did do her a favour, I mean what a bleeeeeep!!!), another character realised that she deserved better than to mother her husband who is more than capable of sticking his smelly boxers in the wash, and then there was the third character who would rather slap and tickle at an allotted time.

So you see, these three women all have their own outlooks on relationships, and they all have their own way of coping when things go baubles up. I adored the girl power element to the book and the whole sisterhood vibe – it certainly made a change rather than reading a book where all the women are knocking each other down with their Manolo Blahniks knock offs.

‘Tis the season to be single, is the type of story which doesn’t take itself seriously at all. Yes, it does have a few dramatic moments combined with some which require the reader to be a bit more empathetic than usual, but there is the perfect balance between all of that and the festivities.

Laura Ziepe made me giggle for a large portion of the book, certainly not disappointing me with her storyline that I was so excited to read. This is such a feel good, cosy Christmas read which shows readers that sometimes taking a step back and seeing things not covered in tinsel can help you realise that you too deserve to be the star of the Christmas tree.

A fun, festive and fabulous read – I cannot wait to read more from Laura Ziepe!!
