Young and In Love? just didn't interest me. I tried reading it, but it ended up being a DNF for me. Maybe I will try again someday.

Very juvenile writing. Struggled to connect with the characters. Felt as if this intentionally played off of negative stereotypes. Hints of bipobia, which 2as a turn off.

Here's the thing about this book: it is HOT. It is very erotic and very arousing and very HOT.

And that's about all it is.

There isn't really a plot. Hardy is a student who works as a barista, and he wants to find Real Love and get married. In his search, he beds every man he can (bless him), and thinks he loves all of them.

And ... that's about it.

It isn't as if Hardy's sexploits help him grow or develop. He thinks he's going to marry each guy he sleeps with, only to somewhat blithely move onto the next conquest. He professes his affections, and moments later rocks the headboard with a different guy. Gary Garth McCann serves up Hardy's womanizing father as a sort of DNA cause for Hardy's behavior, but it doesn't work. The dad is almost laughably one-note, but not more so than Hardy's mother.

None of the characters are developed. At all. Hardy's straight female friend shows up every now and then, yet you know virtually nothing about her. Boyfriends come and go, each more forgettable than the last. As an M/M romance fan, it's disappointing because I feel like there is a more compelling story in here somewhere.

All of those sex scenes, though? Delicious. I give mad props to Gary Garth McCann for those.

Hardy falls easily in love... when a guy fits... he loves him... Always his big love who he’ll never really have..

“I just can’t control my cock”

A sexy, easygoing and entertaining short story of Hardy about his love and sex life.
He is young and vibrant with always someone in his bed or to look up when he is on his knees. It didn’t matter where they come from there were always men circling around him.
Written in a smoothly entertaining positive way that I found quite lovely.

Young and In Love? by Gary Garth McCann. This was a confusing read for me. I guess when I read the title I didn't put the question mark at the end of it. To me the only plot was that the main character, Hardy, would hookup with anyone that was willing. This story was not for me. FYI, contains mature and graphic content (MM, MMM, and taboo). I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a fun read! I didn't feel invested emotionally, because I was constantly prepared for relationships to fall apart. But I enjoyed following the protagonist as he navigates life and love. He was so sweet and innocent? Overall, a lighthearted read .

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of the book. It's an entertaining book for a rainy weekend or a short vacation. A kind of juicy romance of a young guy searching for love having many sexual encounters. Nothing spectacular but nice to read.

Gary Garth McCann's delightful novella, Young and in Love? is a picturesque romp about a young engineering student named Hardy, who falls in love so easily, falls in love so fast. A bawdier Tom Jones transplanted to Southern California, the protagonist's prevailing philosophy seems to be "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with." And he manages to get with on an enviably regular basis. His adventures are racy and refreshingly guilt free - well most of the time anyway. McCann imbues the central character with charm and pluck, and his wide range of conquests are concisely and believably drawn. Caveat emptor: Though a perfect beach or airplane read, one of the side effects could be an acute case of wood.

Story of a young student who dreams of an ideal relationship but his many experiences seem to fall short of his ideals. I guess showing that he still has a way to go to reach maturity.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hardy is working his way through that difficult journey of discovering not only who he is and what he wants out of life-- but also finding, or better, defining what love means for him. 'Young and In Love?' is a very sexy, fun reading experience. I like that author Gary Garth McCann doesn't allow his characters to get too bogged down with self-loathing and guilt but instead takes charge of, and responsibility for their lives and actions. I really enjoyed all the characters: Hardy is very real and adorable, Eli is a real trip and Jay and Wyatt are all out sexy. I thought Hardy's -- how do you say - obsession? with his father was oddly tantalizing. I sure hope there are more adventures in the future because I would love to follow Hardy's journey though sex, love and life.
