I really didn’t want this book to end, it was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. It tells the story of newly single Lara, who with her best friend, flies to New York on a quest to meet Dr Mike/Seth Hunter in the hope he can help win her boyfriend back. It was quite obvious that the gorgeous Seth was not going to only help mend her heart but also steal it!
I loved this book, it was pure festive romantic comedy.

Loved it, felt as though I was visiting New York for Christmas. Light, easy reading that left a tear in my eye at the end. Just what I needed for the end of my holiday

Only my second novel from this author and she's growing on me, a lot. I love the Lara character and how strong she is. This is not just chicklit. Thanks to Netgalley for the review copy.

A story about a woman recently dumped and so goes on holiday...... then falls in love. Lara is not your typical woman, she's a tomboy really and a truck driver, the author pressed the poi+t about her being different and it is refreshing to have the female lead be different I'm not sure such regular reminders were necessary. At times the story seemed to jump a little, like I'd missed a few pages but generally flowed along quite well. The classic requirement for romances to have some kind of drama to cause a misunderstanding and a break up was there but was minor so as to keep all the characters as nice, could've done with something a bit more climatic.
I did enjoy the book but have read better

I really enjoyed One New York Christmas. Mandy’s books are usually set on the island of Corfu so it was nice to have a change of continent.

The main character is Lara, a fearless truck driving girl from a small village more used to wearing band t shirts and doc martens than rubbing shoulders with celebrities. Then you have Seth, an upcoming actor looking for his big break.

When Lara’s Christmas plans change, she and best friend Susie find themselves swapping their small village for the bright lights of New York.

A well written book that is enjoyable to the end. Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin Random House UK Ebury Publishing and the author for the chance to review.

What a bubbly, fun personality Lara is. The story is set round her problems with Dan, who she thought was 'the one', but who has decided to take a break and disappear to Scotland. Wantint to show him that she can have fun without him she emails various 'celebs' on Social media.
Somehow connecting with Seth on social media (was this a bit contrived?) she sets off with her friend to New York. Meeting Seth in a zoo, where she manages to capture a lemur and fall at Seth's feet, takes the story further.
I liked the way her father and almost brother Aldo were portrayed.
Yes, it is a bit chic lit for me, but it's a good sympathetic story which people will love.

I've always enjoyed Mandy's books and she didn't let me down again at all as this book was so good I was hooked from the first page the characters are brilliant and story line is so good and has you laughing and crying at times as so brilliant. It's easy to read and of course full of Christmas time which is brilliant. It shows how sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and do something you wouldn't usually do and go with it am deathly you can have fun. Full of heartbreak and romance and happiness and such a warm read and worth more than the five stars.
Lara has lived in her little village all her life with her dad and almost brother Aldo and she works for her fathers truck Buisness and is going out with Dan and she thinks she's more than happy. But it's coming up to Christmas and Dan suggests they have a break and he's going to Scotland for Christmas with friends she says she wants to go with him but he knows she won't leave the village and he wants a break. She's so upset but her best friend susie suggests making him jealous and to contact famous people on twitter and show him she can speak with famous people and susie does this for her and someone called Seth who is from New York who is an actor contacts her and they get chatting he says if she's ever over his way to contact him. Susie quickly acts on this and says they can go to New York but of course she's is unsure due to work and not having money to go but susie contacts her boyfriend who live so out there and they soon have flights out there so is it the right step to make Dan jealous and want her back. Once she is out ere she's learns Seth is going to be at a zoo and she goes along and she makes a fool of herself as she falls out of a tree in front of se but they get chatting and start seeing quite a bit of each other and she takes photos of herself with Seth to post on twitter to make Dan think. They soon get very friendly ans realise they have things in common as she can't remember hire mum and he was adopted and is thinking of getting in contact with his real mother. She suggest how to do this and they start going out to places she never dreamt she would go even attending a red carpet event. Sadly she learns that when they first chatted it wasn't with him it was with his agent and she isn't happy at all so storms off and can they make it up before she is due to go home and does she get some other surprises along the way. When Dan messages saying he made a mistake what does she think who will she decide to be with and will she be happy ever after or not. Also where will she spend Christmas and will she be with her family or not.
A brilliant read so warm and highly recommend anyone to read it.

This is the first book I've read by Mandy Baggot and I loved it. Lara the main character is fearless and will throw herself into any situation without thinking about it too much. Then the main guy Seth, is a lovely character who also has a few things going on in the background. I found myself giggling at some of the scenes and overall the book gave me a nice warm and fuzzy glow. I would say that this is more than your normal 'chicklit' and 'fairytale' story it has warmth, courage and fun along the way. A really good book to settle down with and gets you in the mood for Christmas.
