I so enjoyed this book. It had me intrigued right from the start and I ended up reading it in one day as I had to know how everything was going to end.
The story flicks between the two main characters, Molly and Grace. We are also taken from past to present so we can understand more about things that surrounded the death of their friend Charlotte.
Both women couldn't be more different. Where as Grace is really living the high life, doing well in her work and personal life, Molly is pretty much at rock bottom. Whatever happened in the past, Molly is certainly struggling to deal with and now that she has found Grace again, all her emotions have come back to the forefront and she is desperate to rekindle the relationship they had back when they were kids.
I actually quite liked both women. They both have this vulnerability about them that made me want things to work out okay for them both. I knew though I had to know just what had happened years before and what secrets were waiting to be divulged.
There are certainly a few red herrings that threw me and I really thought I knew where the story was going only to be completely wrong. For me this is what a psychological thriller is all about. A wonderfully dark read that messes with your head.
The Orchid Girls is an enthralling read that hooked me in and didn't let go. I loved the build up of suspense throughout the novel and it's one that readers will definitely struggle to put down. Fabulous read, loved it.
This book was not at all what I expected, but I found it immensely enjoyable. The plot unfolds in a way that keeps the suspense up throughout and leads to an unexpected ending. The characters are well thought out and original, with a surprising twist. Nothing in this story turns out to be quite as it seems giving a refreshingly different style of thriller. A highly enjoyable and thought provoking read.
Excellent book with a great storyline. Characters that are so well written. I would highly recommend this book to anyone!
The Orchid Girls is a suspenseful psychological thriller that will leave you wondering the truth all the way until the end. With all of the narrators telling 'their version' of the story, who is telling the truth? Everyone has something to hide and something that they do not want to have discovered. Sanderson does a fantastic job jumping back and forth through time, weaving the stories together to connection.
I was very eager and excited to start reading this book, after I had read the blurb.
The story flows beautifully and is full of intense moments that make you so eager to continue on. The characters are well written and engaging.
I really could not recommend this book more to anyone,.
Wow I loved this book. Kept me up late reading. Amazing writing style & likeable characters. First book I’ve read by this author but certainly won’t be the last. Highly recommend this book thanks for the preview.
This book has a great written style to it, the author's descriptive ability is first class and the main locations were vivid and easily imagined.
I enjoyed the gradual disintegration caused by secrets about to be revealed and of course the red herrings were also there to entice. I like to reflect on a novel once I'm finished and this gave me quite a lot to think about including the way our past shapes our futures, how personalities, memories, situations mould us and those touched by our tragedy and all are very well constructed here.
There have been a lot of changes in the years between the tragedy of the orchid girls and the present day. The rise of social media, the concept of a person or persons as a 'brand', and the acceptance of this as the norm are well covered and, as far as I'm aware, realistically so.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this novel thanks to Netgalley in exchange for an unbiased review and would recommend it for anyone who likes a thrilling multi-faceted story.
'Now we are bound forever,' she says, her eyes determined. 'I will never tell anyone, I swear. This is between you and me. Now you swear too.'
They called them the Orchid Girls. Grace. Charlotte. Molly.
A nice slow burn read that leads up to a great ending! This is one that is full of secrets and obsession. You won't want to put it down until you find out what happened to Charlotte.
Thanks to #NetGalley for this ARC of #TheOrchidGrils

This is a gripping psychological thriller that explores the depth of female friendships and the ties that bind over the years How far would you go to hide your past and protect your perfect new life?
The story slowly unfolds as we find out why Grace has reinvented herself and why she doesn't want Molly back in her life.
I truly couldn't put this book down and was nearly late for work as I was desperate to find out what happened.
Grace has it all, a flourishing career, a handsome husband, a beautiful apartment.
Molly has a drinking problem, no job and nothing to lose.
Haunted by their past, Grace and Molly find themselves back in each others lives trying to keep their secrets from coming out.
I enjoyed the authors writing style, I was able to picture Grace standing in her spotless chrome kitchen and Molly stumbling around her mess of an apartment. The character development was perfect giving us just enough to see into their lives, without giving the secrets they hold away.
This book really grabbed me and then it kind of fell off.
I felt as though there was a lot of character development at the beginning and a lot of action at the end, but the middle was a little empty.
While still enjoyable, its probably not a book I would read again, or recommend.
The Orchid Girls is a great psychological thriller. A story about secrets, obsession, and friendship. I enjoyed this novel and hope to read more books one day by this author.
A good read but it did take me a while to get into the storyline, I didn't find it gripping enough for me and I don't think I will read more from this author.
Based on this I wouldn't recommend this book, sorry.
molly and grace best of friends something happened one is a bit clingy they have a secret one of them has it all the other an alcoholic the one wants to ruin it for the other this book is about what secrets can do one is nice the other vindictive I so enjoyed oh and the twist I so recommend
3.5
The story and the characters drew me in quickly! The writing is great! Then nothing happens really for the good first half of the book. There is a lot of thinking and internal dialogue. You see one character, that is tightly wound, start to unravel and another, that was a hot mess, try to get it together.
The mood that is created is definitely suspenseful and creepy. There are many twists and red herrings and I jumped to many wrong conclusions. The addition of another missing girl and the similarities muddled the story at points. I know it was to cast suspicions and reveal things about certain characters but it was too convenient a plot device at times.
The final reveal did become apparent to me prior the conclusion of the story. That didn’t detract from the enjoyment. It was quite sad really. I would recommend and read more by this author
Thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for a review.

Secrets, lies and murder. What happened to Charlotte? Was it an accident or murder? Was it Molly or Grace or did something else happen? This book keeps you in suspense. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, bam, a twist! This book alternates between the past and the present. With alternating voices telling the story. This worked for me. The dialogue is intriguing and true to life. The characters are complex and richly detailed. This is a book that will keep you guessing till the climatic ending. It ends with quite a surprise ending. I found this book to be well written with a superb storyline. If you like psychological suspense then you will love this book. Excellent read!
I just finished #TheOrchidGirls and what a crazy messed up ride! I was hooked from first few pages and it only got more intense! I super love books where grown women have secrets from childhood that threaten to ruin their now perfect grownup life and marriages. I know, that’s messed up but it makes for a really fun psychological thriller, am I right?!!!
Perfect Grace with her perfect Mayor husband and her perfect Instagram and “Queen of Clean” celebrity.
And Molly. Ohhhhh Molly. Drunk and disorderly Molly.
Put Molly and Grace back together again after years of no contact and we have D R A M A and secrets and twisted lies on lies on lies. And the end made me gasp win twisty delight. Delighted because a final twist was delivered with a thunderous boom!!!

Five stars!!!!!
There were three of them. They called them the Orchid Girls. And them one of them is found dead. Is one of the girls lying? Does one of them hold the secrets to the mysterious death?
The Orchid Girls is a twisty, dark story about obsession, love, death, and secrets and how far people will go to keep the past hidden.
The characters were well developed and I was hooked from the beginning. Highly recommended!
