Jane stared at the plastic tag and said she refused to wear it. She wasn’t some boy crazy teen, or a desperate woman on the make. She was a successful business woman.Jane was a textile designer. So what if she wasn’t married. Jane was at her ten year HS reunion. Often Jane joked with her family she traveled through a time warp from NYC to her sleepy hometown in Vernon, Louisiana. In NYC she was J L Design in her hometown she was Jane Louise. Than her best friend from HS - Amber grabbed her arm and spun her around. She asked Jane if she was excited. . Jane had been following Amber’s lead since they were kids. Amber was the impulsive adventure and Jane was the impulsive adventure and Jane was the careful analyst. Amber put the tag on Jane and Jane just left it there. The reunion was a perfect chance to catch up with Amber.Only with Amber Jane confessed to her growing dissatisfaction with her life. Lately she thought about a home and children and not in a loft in NYC. Jane admitted she never knew how much she loved “home” until she left. Jane had shared everything with Amber since they were kids. Jane thought Amber would tell her if he-Morgan- was going to show up. Morgan was the most famous alumnus of the from that HS. He went out in the world and made millions.Another friend Felicia said she was looking for husband number three and pointing herself toward Morgan. Than Amber jumped in and asked if she forgot to tell Jane Morgan was coming to the reunion. Jane decided she would leave. Jane had just said she wasn’t impressed with Morgan when Morgan spoke behind her. Morgan had been Jane’s secret boyfriend in HS. Jane had never forgotten him or his kiss. Something had driven them apart in the past. Little does Jane know Morgan still had feelings for her just as she does for him.
I enjoyed this book. It was a quick, easy, fun read with some drama thrown in. I thought Felicia was just to forward towards Morgan it annoyed me. I did find this predictable. At times I did get annoyed both with Jane and Morgan. I did like the pace and plot. I would have liked the book to be a little longer to show more of Morgan and Jane together. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
I loved this book. Guilted by her best friend, Jane returns to her hometown for her tenth year high school reunion. Jane like most kids wanted out of small town rural town to make it, in the big city. Big city being New York. If you have ever returned for a high school reunion you know somethings stay the same and others stay the same. No spoilers but truly a delightful easy read.
I received a free copy of Jane I'm Still Single in exchange for an honest review. The first thing I noticed was the cover of the book, and I couldn't wait to get started.
I enjoyed Morgan and Jane's story and their happy ending. Joan Reeves did a great job writing, but the plot was just "ok." There really wasn't anything that made this book stand out, except for some of the "one liners" shared between Morgan and Jane in the beginning of the story which I found very entertaining.
If you want a quick and easy book with no real surprises, then I'd recommend this book.
This book was a quick read. I read it in one evening. The story revolves around a small town 10 year reunion. It is filled with drama, misunderstandings, and of course a 10 year old crush.
Jane, the cheerleader and Morgan the Nerd had a secret relationship in high school and both blame each other. Of course they won’t talk to each other so the issues just multiply. At one point I started to get annoyed with both characters for not communicating with each other and their behavior.
Overall this book was just ok. I think there needed to be an epilogue, a little less Felicia, and maybe a little more comic relief with the bridge club. This could be a great book, but just needed a little bit more for me. 3 stars for me,
This is a short but fun story about Jane Jones going home for her ten year high school reunion. She really did not want to leave New York and her business, but her best friend has brought her back home to Louisiana. The one person she was told that was not going to be there of course shows up. That is Morgan Sherwood. He is now a very successful business man and has also helped out the town and the school. Even though the two of them liked each other during their senior year a third party came between them and is now still working at keeping them apart. They now must work at finding a way to be together or they will just have to move on to separate parts of the country. A funny but good story.
This is a light and fun read. I'd never read this author before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I am a fan of small town romances, and quirky characters so Jane Jones appealed to me. Jane is a single New Yorker headed home to small town Louisiana for her high school reunion. There are several quirky characters, and of course there are the requisite high school reunion expected characters...the shallow and pretentious mean girl/boy etc. In fact many characters are a little bit cookie cutter and stereotypical, but this is kind of cotton candy, so it didn't really bother me. The main plot involves Jane and her high school secret boyfriend, Morgan. Morgan was a nerd in high school and he's grown up to be very rich and successful and of course, hunky. They parted ways in high school and he's always been the one that got away. Jane has convinced herself that she doesn't care, but who are we kidding? This is a romantic "comedy" so of course there are lots of clutzy misunderstandings and honestly, a few times I just wanted to smack both of them over the head. But overall, this is a quick and enjoyable read, perfect for a flight or a vacation read, or when you're having a bad day. I could definitely imagine the last part as a scene from a rom/com movie. A little silly, but cute. 3 1/2 stars.
I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was a sweet, short read even if it was very predictable and nothing made it really stand out, but I still enjoyed it very much. There's a lot of miscommunication between our two main characters which takes a bit from the story in my opinion but not so much that you can't enjoy it. Overall this was a story that was fun and easy to read, perfect for a day at the beach or something like that. A good light and fluffy read.
This book was kinda short and a little weird i guess?! It's Jane and Morgan book, Morgan is a Hotshot big movie star Jane is a former high school beauty queen. They both loved each other in high school but a lot of factors went into keeping them apart! They meet up again at their ten years reunion and get sort of together and that's about it lol a lot of stupid misunderstanding happen! I guess I don't really recommend this book I've read worse but definitely have read much better! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
