Amazing beginning to a stunning series! Very well written and loved all the books. Very sadened at the recent passing of the author.
Absolutely fantastic book!
This is book 1 in the series and follows Maia, the first sister, on her journey. The settings are beautiful, the story is so well written and I was entranced by it all.
Even though it is a long book, over 600 pages, the story didn't drag at all and I wanted to just keep reading!
Very much looking forward to reading the other 6 books in this series.
I didn't realise there were six other books in the series! Number seven is excellent though. I will definitely be catching up on the other books!
Thank you to Lucinda Riley, NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Dont know how i missed this but this is book 7 in a series. As it seems right up my street i need to read the other 6 first so they have been added to my to read list and will review once again once ive read it. Sounds fab and certainly my kind of read and the little i did read before putting it down impressed me.
If you haven't read any of the previous seven sisters book this is the place to start. The thought and research that goes into every book is evident. Seven sisters all so different, I can't wait for the final book in this series. Lucinda must rate as one of my favourite authors whatever she writes, can't recommend her books highly enough.
At first I didn’t think I would enjoy this book as it was a bit slow, but by the end I really enjoyed reading adopted Maia’s story and am now looking forward to reading the next book
Maia’s journey takes you through several countries such as Switzerland, Rio and Paris as she follows the trail, in the letter and coordinates her deceased father left her. It can be very emotional at times and well worth the read.
This was a little slow at first but then I really enjoyed it, although I must admit some sections had me holding back the tears. Maia, the oldest of the sisters journeys to Brazil to try to discover her roots. I enjoyed the story set in the 1920s and it inspired me to read more about the statue of Christ the Redeemer. I did feel for Izabela and the heartbreaking choices she had to make. What a strong person she was! There is also Maia’s own story, some details about her past and possibly her future. There are questions still to be answered but I assume these will become clear in the following books. This was an interesting and sometimes emotional read. I received a copy and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This didn't really hook me in to be completely honest, and I had to push myself to keep reading. It wasn't my kind of thing and didn't make me want to read more by the same author.
It's a nice idea for a story though - the sisters all tracing their heritage. But I personally think it could have been one book (I'm guessing it's a series?) with the stories interwoven which might have made for a more interesting read.
Six adopted sisters following the death of their father are left a letter with a clue to their heritage. This book follows the journey of one sister Maia, the eldest. An average read. Not sure I want to read the other six books in the set.
This is usually not my kind of thing at all, and I never would have read it but we sell so many copies of Lucinda Rileys book at my work, and people rave about her. So I gave it a go.
It's very cliched and shallow but honestly I loved it and couldn't put it down. I'm not even sure why, but I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading the rest.
Really enjoyed this book. Was very well written I was drawn to the seven sisters. each book is a story of one sister taking place in the present and the past trying to find their origins and their adventures while doing that. We will have the 7th book tie everything TOGETHER. ABOUTSLETY AMAZING SERIES.
The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley
Historically a very well written book.
The story was laborious for a large part and characters very grey and not really very interesting.
Too long and the story leaves too many unanswered questions though some parts very predictable.
First part of a series I had such hopes for when I picked this book but alas a bit disappointing don’t know if the next book would be of more interest.
The first in the Seven Sisters series of girls who are adopted at a young age by Pa Salt. They grow up together and it is only on his death that they learn more about their origins.
I loved the historical story behind this book and can't wait to read the others in the series. I also understand there is going to be a final book telling the story of Pa Salt which will be brilliant.
The Seven Sisters is a historical romance. Despite the title it is a series of books (This being the first book) about adopted sisters, each book is about a different sisters story.
This book is about the oldest sister, Maia, all the sisters were adopted as babies and we see that when their rich father "Pa Salt" passes away. The girls are all left a letters with secret clues from their past, who and whereo they come from.
I found it a little predictable at times and I think this is why it didn't hold my attention.
The trouble I had with this book is that it flips between now and years gone by and it travels across many country's..
Also I believe there are too many unanswered questions, for example I wanted to find out more about the sister father and why did he adopt so many girls?
I would like to thank Netgallery and the publishers of the book for my copy of this book for a honest review.
I had gone into this not sure if it was for me but I absolutely loved the story and can't wait to continue the story!!! There was so much on offer it was absolutely impossible to put it down!
The first in the seven sisters series
It was absolutely brilliant and I just can’t wait to get stuck into the rest of the series to find out how the sister entwine
Brilliant
I have read all the Seven Sisters series to date. These books are incredible and must surely be an epic labour of love for Lucinda Riley.
The series focuses on seven sisters, taking each one in turn. The sisters were adopted by the mysterious Pa Salt, as babies. When their adoptive father dies, he leaves each of them clues to help them discover their origins.
The books take us across the globe, and back and forth in time as we meet their illustrious ancestors and find the truth behind their histories.
The sisters are based around the astrological myths of the Seven Sisters, and there are Easter eggs hidden across the books in the form of careful anagrams (Pa Salt being an anagram of Atlas for example).
These are amazing reads and I couldn’t recommend them enough. Each is a ‘big’ read, thick books full of epic romance, and historical drama. Many of them revolve around the arts - sculpture, painting, music and painting, and are based on events that happened in history.
I cannot wait for the Missing Sister (the next installment of the story) to be reunited with these incredible women.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I have enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series. I have book 2& 3 on reserve at the library to read next month.
This is one of those family sagas that can just keep going.
Highly recommended
This one is a bit of a mixed bag for me. I was hooked straight in, and really loved Maia's story and her journey to find out about her start in life. However, the story of Bel just didn't engage me anywhere near as much and on those sections I wasn't that excited about picking it up. There were lots of characters, it took a while to figure out her relation to Maia and the plot wasn't as gripping to me. I tended to skim over those pages, in anticipation of getting back to Maia. It is a long book and needed more dedication than I was willing to give.
Also, I have a major problem with Pa Salt and how he managed to adopt all these female babies?! Poetic license is definitely needed for that part!
So, will I dive into the others? Unsure at the moment, especially if they are as long as the first book. I am intrigued about the other sisters, but not fascinated!
This is book one in The Seven Sisters Series and it is Maia's story and omg you really need to read this book. This is not a genre that I would normally read but when I was offered a copy of this book to read and review I wanted to give it a go as I have heard such a lot about this book and series and I am really happy that I did as it was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and kept your attention right to the last one and it was so addictive that I couldn't put it down as I had to see what would happen next. There are many twists and turns along the way and that is what makes this book a real page turner and I absolutely love Lucinda's writing style as she makes you feel as if you are there in the story and going through everything with them and how they are feeling. This is the first book that I have read by Lucinda Riley but definitely not the last and I definitely recommend you read this book and you will definitely not be disappointed as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention through out the whole book.
I Voluntarily Reviewed a Arc Copy of this Amazing Book from Netgalley.
