Ryan and Gray are absolutely everything together and will ignite your desires as they find their way to embracing a relationship
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
I absolutely loved this book it was intriguing and suspenseful and a fabulous read and I recommend giving it a try
Ryan is a former Navy Seal and savior of an international space station. He carries guilt for not being able to save his best friend from a tragic accident. He meets Gray, a flight psychologist when he gets offered a chance to fly again. Gray is there to keep Ryan "Ty" on the straight and narrow but the two clash and the chemistry is instant between them. Will the two be able to work things out? This is the first book in a duet about their story. The next book is coming in December.
This book is one of my highly anticipated books of 2018. It’s been awhile this author has released a book, and being a fan of her previous works, I couldn’t wait to read this one. An astronaut hero in contemporary romance is not that common as far as I know, so on that score, this book stands out from among the recent releases. I enjoyed this one and would highly recommend it. I read and reviewed this book voluntarily.
This book ends in a cliffhanger.
I could not put the book down. Ryan and Gray need each other. They are forced together form a friendship and help each other. Gray helps Ryan with a tragic loss, and Ryan helps Gray see that she is beautiful. Their relationship evolves but there is someone that will dash out all their dreams if the relationship continues.
Book 2 cannot come soon enough.
I may have found this to be a slow start but then bam I really couldn't put it down. I was sucked in by Ryan. When you read his story and feel the full impact of what he went through in space it just pulls at you. Ryan and Gray are just drawn to each other. I love the chemistry and how Gray doesn't back down. These two are amazing for each other. This astronaut read is full of healing and I really love when I come across a different worked force based book. Seriously I'm dying for book 2 right now. I love how this one ended and really need more Gray and Ryan.
I thoroughly enjoyed High Risk and the first part of Ryan and Gray’s story. The author’s portrayal of their very different, yet highly compatible characters was believable and interesting too The storyline definitely delivers some intense and high impact moments, and the writing is well developed and easy to follow. I’m eagerly awaiting the second part, and conclusion to this exciting undertaking.
The first book in the Point of No Return series, High Risk delivers a promising start to this series with strong characters and an enjoyable storyline I will definitely be reading more. This story does end in a cliffhanger, but we do know book 2 is due to be released December 6, 2018
A angsty emotional book full of sexual chemistry, this story grabs your attention and holds on! I loved the character and relationship development and the unique storyline. I can’t wait for book 2! That cliffhanger!
**I received a copy of High Risk from Net Galley and Author Collective in exchange for a honest and voluntary review. The opinions expressed below are mine alone.**
High Risk (Point of No Return) by Brenna Aubrey is the first book in her new series. However, you need to know that this doesn't end or have a HEA and you'll have to wait until December 6, 2019 to find out what happens.
Commander Ryan Tyler has suffered a tragic loss of his best friend Xander during his last mission to the International Space Station and hit rock bottom causing NASA to doubt his ability to go on another mission. He knows that the cards are stacked against his being able to join the XVenture Private Astronaut Corps (XPAC) unless he can stay sober and behave for Gray Barnett whose father has agreed to fund the first privately funded trip to space. As a former Navy SEAL he knows that if he wants it bad enough then he'll have to prove his ability to return to space. But will Ryan and Gray be able to keep their attraction to each other quiet or will her father find out and pull all of XPAC's funding?
Gray Barnett would like nothing more than to impress her father as a flight psychologist but he's set on her working for in one of his companies for human resources. So she'll have to make Ryan ready for flight in the month that she's been given and dad will double his investment. But when Ryan finds out about her health issues will it change how they feel for each other? She feels that her heart condition may turn him away but can Ryan do that or will he fall head over heals for her?
There is a hint that Gray's best friend Pari a rocket scientist and Victoria may have some future together but we'll have to see how that turns out in the next book.
This is the beginning of a new series, but when I started reading it I was under the impression that this was a standalone, when in fact it ends on a cliffhanger. I don't mind cliffhangers if I don't have to wait years for the followup book to be released and it looks like High Reward, Book #2, will be released this December -- good news for me because I can't wait to see what happens with Ryan and Gray! These characters are two very broken, but strong, souls that truly need each other even if they fight it through most of the book. The plot centering around the space shuttle/astronaut program was quite interesting and informative for me and I surprisingly enjoyed it. The characters were complex and well developed and intriguing. I'll be anxiously waiting to read the conclusion of their story in Book #2. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
I loved the synopsis for this book and I really felt for Ryan, he was an emotional wreck, with so many issues. Issues he was not willing to share with psychologist Gray Barrett, a true wolf in sheep’s clothing, not quite the walkover she could have been. Strong hearted (in so many ways), I loved her. I loved her honesty, and I loved her strength. Ryan too, saw all her plus points, and used them to his advantage (not in a cruel way I might add). Although it took me quite a few chapters to feel invested in Ryan, Gray, and their “relationship”, I was eventually hooked, getting excited for their happy ever after. I should have done my homework a bit more though, it’s book 1 of a duet, a cliffie no less. It would appear I’m going to have to wait a few more weeks for what I’m hoping will be their HEA, because honestly, they both deserve it. Excellent writing and an interesting storyline. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.
Let me first say that this is a very good book. That said, the book ends in a cliffhanger!!! I was not a happy camper, If I had known that, I would never have read it. Also, I was hesitant to read it since it’s classified as a New Adult and I don’t read NA. Well, it’s not a NA.
But as I said before, aside from that it’s very good.
The story centers around astronaut and former Navy SEAL, Commander Ryan Tyler and Gray Bennett, a flight psychologist works in her PhD and the daughter of the man funding the outer space venue.
Ryan is filled with guilt after his last flight. He has been getting drunk, become a womanizer etc. He has been assigned to Gray so she can be his “sitter” and clean up his image.
I loved these two. While the plot was engaging, heartbreaking and at times heartwarming, the characters were complex .
It was interesting to get an inside view of the space program and the individuals involved in it. It’s also a story about guilt, trying to live up to an image, self-doubt, trust, feelings and hope.
Will I check out book 2? Probably but still feel readers should be warned that it’s a cliffhanger.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
