Shalini Boland is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors and I devoured The Perfect Family in a couple of days, gutted that work got in my way of reading!

I was drawn into her latest novel from the very first page. Gemma, a wife and mother of two runs her own successful facilities management company. Her youngest daughter Katie goes missing one morning, after a frantic search she’s eventually found by her mother in law, Gemma is relieved and thinks her nightmare is over, but in reality it’s only just beginning.

The blurb for this book promises an addictive psychological thriller of secrets, lies and betrayal and it certainly lives up to that.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book.
A perfect family struggling to keep up with jobs and managing family life. When a live in nanny and tutor to the eldest daughter is introduced all is not what it seems.....or is it?? The ending was absolutely brilliant!! A brilliant book as always by Shalini Boland. More than five stars if I could.

The Perfect Family is a fast paced psychological thriller centered around Gemma, Robert and their two children. Gemma runs her own business, Robert is a personal trainer, they have two lovely daughters and a seemingly perfect life. However, life is very busy for the Ballantines and they decide to hire a nanny to help with the children and around the house. Enter Sadie, who at her interview comes across as a frumpy young woman who appears to have all the qualifications they need. She's a miracle in their lives and makes herself indispensable after just a couple of weeks. However, Sadie is not all she appears as Gemma soon suspects.

I really enjoyed this book, it is a quick read, full of dra and suspense making you hurry to turn each page. The characters were very well drawn out and I really liked Gemma and Robert while developing an intense dislike and distrust of other characters. The ending was brilliant, and without saying too much, just when you think you have it all worked out, think again...A great read!

I was delighted when I was approved by Netgalley for a Shalini Boland novel, as I loved The Secret Mother.

Gemma is feeling inadequate balancing her business and home life under the gaze of her disapproving mother in law Diane.

When she hires Sadie as a live-in nanny she thinks it’s the answer to her prayers. But, her problems only seem to be starting.

What develops is a thriller that twists and turns right to the end, with Gemma questioning is she losing her mind.

Easy 4 stars. Definitely recommed.

I love this Author's writing. Gemma is a mother to two young daughters and has a stressful job. She is convinced by her husband and his mother that they should hire a nanny to help. Bad decision but not for the reason you think! Lots of twists and turns in this cleverly written story. I certainly didn't see the ending coming. Waiting for this Author's next brilliant book. Thanks to NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

Shalini Boland fan right here!!! Another fantastic psychological thriller!

Gemma is a working mother with two young daughters juggling all of her responsibilities and struggling a bit. Her daughter needs to be tutored as well for academics and her mother-in-law recommends a nanny, one who can help Gemma as well as help with tutoring. You think it's a typical "nanny" story but that is where you would be wrong..... Lots of twists and turns to keep you turning those pages. Boland cleverly draws you in and ramps up the suspense.

Highly recommend! I can't wait to read what this author comes up with next! Keep them coming!

A huge thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Shalini does it again, never disappoints, I just love her fast paced psychological thrillers. Everything about this book is exciting and is a gripping page turner full of twists and turns.

Her writing is superb and she gets you involved with all the characters straight away, my only problem is that I read them far too quickly and then I am annoyed with myself for having done so. A very worthy five stars, more if I could.

Can thoroughly recommend this book and wow what an ending!

Incredible story with an ending you won't see coming! Believable characters, great plot, and superb writing. There were a few very minor holes in the story, but nothing that stopped my enjoyment, one of those books that you just can't put down !

I always enjoy reading Shalini Boland's books and was delighted to receive a copy of her new book The Perfect Family. I really enjoyed this book, I could not put it down and read it in one day.
Gemma is a working mother with two young daughters. She is finding it difficult to juggle working with looking after her home and family.
Her husband and mother in law suggest a nanny and against her better judgement she agrees.
Sadie the nanny arrives to help with the children and housework and soon becomes a great asset but Gemma does not trust her.
Lots of twists and turns in this psychological thriller to keep you hooked.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for my e- copy in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely fabulous thriller from Shalini Boland. Having read Silent Sister I was keen to read The Perfect Family. I was not disappointed - far from it. The plot was great, and the ending superb.

Shalini Boland delivers again! I read this book in a day, dreading what was going to happen next. The story was addictive and I just had to keep reading. I could sympathise with the main character and her life as I am sure a lot of us could. The author had us seeing what she wanted us to without working out what was really going on which I loved!

Gemma is a self employed working mother. Her and her husband are struggling to keep up with work and being good parents to their 2 daughters. The eldest daughter needs a tutor but mother in law Diane find them a live in nanny and tutor to help make their lives easier. But things start to happen that are not normal and Gemma starts to wonder if the new nanny Sadie really is good for them. A twist at the end that I didn't see coming.. this is a fantastic read.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book to read. All opinions are my own and are in no way biased
