It's getting harder and harder to review both the Mercury pack and the Phoenix pack books the longer both series goes on. Each book in both series follows a general story arc, but Suzanne does a good job in making each story fresh.
I really enjoyed Madisyn's independence and Bracken's ability to let her feel like she always had it—even when she didn't lol. I think he realized she could take care of herself, but he still needed to feel like he was always there to protect her. They both worked really well as a couple.
The romance as always was steamy. The couple was made for each other and their attraction and love streamed through the pages loud and clear.
I haven't disliked any of Suzanne Wright's books to date and I will continue to read everything she puts out.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Read this book in one sitting cause I could not put it down. Ms. Wright's shifter books just keep getting better and better. While this can be read as a standalone, it is always better to read the series in order. Madisyn and Bracken are perfect together. I really like that they don't mess around, they know what they need to do to get where they need to be. As a couple they really work. They discuss things with each other and deal with their problems. The action in this book is non-stop. You will not be disappointed. Great read.
Received as an ARC from Netgalley.
Bracken and Madisyn both are stubborn to a fault. Bracken just tugged at my heart. Lossing his family just about distroyed him but with Madisyn he can heal.
This story is full of action, old pack mates and lots of sexy time.
I received an adavance copy from NetGalley.

I Love, Love, Love, FREAKING LOVE, this author. I just can't say that enough! I don't believe that she can write anything bad. I have loved and read all of her series of books and they are just magnificent!
This is Bracken and Madisyn's story and I loved Bracken so freaking much in this one! After suffering and still recovering from the loss of his family, he finds his true mate! Yay! Madisyn was awesome and kick-ass as usual, loved her animal!
The witty comebacks, the strong but tender males and the action, oh my, do I love the way she has the characters acting out in their true nature and killing off the bad guys. Love It!...Can I just say that the kids were the best? Especially the dialogue between Cassidy and Willow, Lol. Please give us more of Kye, Cassidy, Willow and Sienna. They are just the best!!! Again there's a scene with Cain and Cassidy which has me wondering about those two, but we will see what Ms. Wright plans for their future. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Wright's stories and I cannot wait for her next book.

Just freaking amazing!
This author has been my favorite since she wrote her first book and I’m happy I got the opportunity to read this book. I can’t wait to read more from her!
Loved this book! It’s pace the story. The character development! We get entrenched into the mercury pack once again and it’s amazing!
Great read. Suzanne Wright just knows just how to get the right balance of sexiness, drama, love, fighting, and humor. Great story and in-depth characters. Good to see all the members too. Glad I started this series. Go Mercury Pack!
Received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. Thanks!
I loved these characters! Madisyn is crazy and deadly (how can you not like a character referred to as a snuggly little death dealer). She is aloof and doesn’t take anything from anyone. Bracken is a legend among shifter and humans alike. After his family’s death, his handling of the extremists responsible leads others to view him with either respect or fear.
It takes awhile for them to realize they are true mates. She is reluctant at first because she doesn’t want to be accepted because they are fated to be together. He is reluctant at first because he already lost so much, but he is more accepting than she is. He is crazy possessive and protective of her.
Plenty of action taking place and their relationship is definitely hot. Glad to see that there are plans for a series with others of Madisyn’s kind. They are highly entertaining!
I just love these books, Suzanne Wright is the bomb I've been hooked since Feral sins and won't ever stop reading her stories..
Book four in the Mercury Pack series, Echoes of Fire gives us Bracken’s story. Specifically, the struggles he’s endured after tragedy struck.
Summary:
Bracken Slater is used to feeling dead inside. He’s been adrift since chaos erupted and he lost everything. He no longer finds comfort in his pack or purpose in his role as enforcer. Grief and guilt have taken over his heart and head, fueling him to seek revenge, and earning him the reputation of being a cold-hearted, unmerciful predator. And then, he gets a taste of the mating bond. Suddenly, he’s vibrating with life and vitality. He just has to convince his feisty little feline to take a chance on him. Madisyn Drake can’t fathom the truth of Bracken being her mate. She’s been alone a long time, and mostly dependent on herself. After a recent betrayal, she’s really not looking to open herself up to more hurt even if it comes in a dark, sexy package. But Bracken won’t let her ignore their connection, and deep down she doesn’t really want to either. Their bond is the only thing that can pull Bracken out of the dark hole he’s found himself in. Their mating may also be the only thing that will keep them safe when threats from both their pasts surface.

I have fallen head over heels for Suzanne Wright’s shifter romances. From the very beginning they have peaked my curiosity, entertained me, and spiced things up. I’m always ready for the next book, and at this point, I don’t want them to come to an end. The newest in the series, Echoes of Fire wasn’t quite what I was expecting. I’ve liked Bracken from the moment he, Jesse, and Zander attached themselves to Nick. He was very different from what we’ve seen of him in past books, but the changes were understandable, and even a little expected. Here, we see a darker, edgier Bracken, forever changed by the tragedy and loss he’s suffered. His extreme intensity sort of blazes right through you. Suzanne Wright, writes some of the best heroines, and Madisyn was no different. She may be a small breed cat, but that doesn’t mean she’s not strong, feisty, and completely nuts when provoked. I liked her often blunt honesty, and even found a few laughs with some of her dialogue. As a couple, I have to be honest and say that I wouldn’t have paired them together. I’m not sure who I would have seen Madisyn with, but I always saw Bracken with Shiloh. After reading them, though, I can admit that they were perfect for each other. I was a little iffy when there was nothing between them before except a slight attraction, but then again, it gave us the chance to see their connection grow. They each gave the other what they needed without stifling who they were. Bracken was uber protective and possessive, but I loved that he slowed the pace in order to make Madisyn comfortable. And Madisyn didn’t go soft on Bracken because of his losses. In the end, this was just an okay read for me, but on the higher end of that scale. There was plenty of action, and more than one possible threat to keep us entertained. While I’m always happy to see some a$$ kicking, the romance, how it progressed, and the sexy steaminess was really my favorite part of this book. Considering past MC’s, supporting cast is always fantastic. I was surprised and pleased to see that the kids, Willow and Cassidy, had a bit more page time and they were hilarious. Both this series and the Phoenix Pack series have grown and expanded to encompass more and more new shifters. Learning about different shifters is fun and I appreciate the effect it has on the shifter dynamics and interaction. I’m really looking forward to who or what we get next. ♡
4 Stars
I really enjoyed Madisyn and Bracken's story. I forgot all about what happened between the last book and this one, but we shortly get a mini recap through Bracken's eyes with his emotions and where he is with those emotions now.
Madisyn is a loner who works at the shelter and places other shifters to live with new clans/packs/prides what have you. She and Bracken have a sort of love hate relationship initially. They both think the other isn't interested in the other.
The whole story wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the slow build with their relationship, but also liked knowing who they were to each other.
I'm a bit disappointed in how these books are following a formula, because there is a bit less suspense since I know vaguely about when things will happen or that things will happen after a certain happy event. The first few books, when they came out, weren't very formulaic now they are and it bums me out a bit. I liked the mystery, I liked the intensity.
Madisyn and Bracken's book isn't full of complete drama or anything, and nothing stupid is keeping them apart so that was nice.
I'm not sure who is next in line for a book with Mercury Pack, but going a long while between books I forget who everyone is, and who is mated to whom, and who has what children. I think we need a family tree, a pack tree? Something either at the beginning or end of the book. Would help organize who is who. Even though I've read the books I still don't remember who is mated and who isn't.
Overall I did enjoy this latest edition to the series and I look forward to the next book in the series whether that's Mercury Pack or Phoenix Pack I love them all.
This review is mine and mine alone, thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book for free.
Another great addition to this series. Madisyn and Bracken are probably some of the more real characters that Wright has written. They have real trauma in their pasts like real people so their interactions and growth seemed more believable. I feel like Wright is really exploring the boundaries of the world she has created. Matings aren't formulaic; they take on the unique challenges of the couple.
The only thing I didn't really like was the cover. It's kind of blah for me.

Let me just start by saying that I FLOVED this book and would give it more stars if I could. I am a huge Suzanne Wright fan which can mean that I am pre-disposed to loving her work, but it also means that when a book falls short of expectations, the disappointment runs deep. It was with that trepidation that I started 'Echoes of Fire'. I had just come off reading another book with a prickly, staunchly independent, possibly annoying heroine that seriously annoyed and affected my enjoyment of the book. Thankfully, I found Madisyn's button-pushing, take-no-effs personality hilarious and endearing because there was insight into WHY she was that way. Throughout the book, she grew and changed. while staying intrinsically true to herself. BOTH MCs grew and changed while accepting each other exactly as they were at the moment. I think that was what I loved about the relationship.
It goes without saying that I loved Bracken, the Hero. Damaged and guilt ridden from his loss, it was easy to see and feel his emotional distance. It was even easier to see and feel how determined he was to make the relationship work. He not only understood Madisyn's needs, but put those needs first DESPITE how at odds those needs were with his innate overprotective and demanding nature without losing any of his alpha-ness.
I think that's what I loved most about the book. Madisyn and Bracken *shouldn't* work together. Their personalities should mean that they are constantly at odds, but they compromise, empathize and COMMUNICATE with each other. It's so dang refreshing to read characters acting like adults.
The external conflict was well handled (and cemented my love for Madisyn forever), and added new characters that I hope will be expanded upon. The Olympus Pack seem like a great pool to explore in the future (hint). There was a really good balance between the focus and progression of the conflict and the relationship. I never felt that one overshadowed or stalled the other, which is a testament to Wright's skills as an author. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next one in the series.
The fourth book of the Mercury Pack.
This is one of those books that would make you think twice of what you are feeling for a person. The situation where the mating finally was realized was somehow unorthodox. Imagine being hit by a car, and it was the only way for the link to be partially open. I say open because of the nature of the bonding in the book. Both of them had to do some hard thinking and they had to decide some things.
I love Bracken. He is the kind of man that I wanted to have. He has so much confidence with his mate's fighting ability. Yes, he is worried, but the pride each time Maddy would take someone down makes you say, " Owh...."
Maddy on the other hand, i can reflect oh why she is like that. It is easy to be alone. There are no complications, either emotional or physical. However, if a guy like Bracken would worm his way to my skin, it is a different ball altogether.
I look forward to reading more books from this series.
Thanks to the publisher for a ARC to read and give my honest opinion.
Nice cover! I really wanted this to be Cain's story, I seem to cater to books with psycho's but alas we have Bracken's story. Bracken pretty much lost his whole family to the extremists and is leading a very sad existence now that he has killed all of them in revenge. He finds out his mate is Madyson, a pallas cat that works for the shelter with Dawn. Pallas cats look all cute and cuddly but they are very quick and deadly.
What did I like? All of this series is insane off the charts sexual, with alpha males and females that don't take any crap. The story kept me engaged and with a series you can still get a feel for previous couples. The drama was fun in this book and I'm all for anything that get's me closer to Cain's book.
Would I buy this book? Yes, I especially love this series cause it can be found on kindle unlimited for free and it is a GOOD series. All of these author's books are great but love these shifter books due to the alpha males and hot as hell panty combustible sexiness.
Thoughts for the author? Cains book....please. Id prefer it next ;) Seriously love all the books with five stars of fun and hot sex is always a plus.
I really enjoyed this one and after being a bit disappointed by the last book in the series this was a great relief. The main characters work together really well and I like the build up of tension and elements of conflict. I really felt for the characters and it was great to revisit the other characters from the series.
I will read literally anything that Suzanne Wright writes, but reading Echoes of Fire was no hardship. Every book in this series has captivated me in one way or another and I look forward to the next one!
4.5 stars. I genuinely love everything this author puts out, I think if you reach this far into this series you know what its about it follows a structure with finding/meeting your mate and do they don't they have issues. There will also be some kind of catty woman trying to steal him away or older woman then an outside conflict etc etc anyways we know what this is about and we know what were getting, it satisfies some part of me looking to read this genre, I would say its missing half a star because I didn't feel as connected to these characters, It jumps in way past the point of loss for Bracken so I just didn't feel that connection or loss with him so I had less invested. Still this series will always have a place in my heart I am really excited still to read Dominic's story!
These story’s keep getting better and better I love them so much. I felt so much with this book how bracken went threw a horrible loss of his hole family but with that he let her help him get to a place of peace with there relationship and I loved that. And how he showed Madisyn it’s ok to trust again. And I love cats so seeing this breed and how they can mess someone up was nice to ready. A very good read and can’t wait for the final 2 books sad as it is coming to a end I want those two males to find there mates and there crazy ride to getting there
Suzanne Wright is my absolute favourite author when it comes to PNR books. My fascination with her writing started with her shifter series and therefore they will always hold a special place in my heart, but I fell in love with her Deep in Your Veins and Dark in You series too. Every time she releases something new, I just know that I won’t be disapointed, no matter what series it is. She’s my go-to author.
Echoes of Fire is the fourth book in Mercury Pack series. This one is about Madisyn Drake and Bracken Slater.
Madisyn is a very strong, independent cat shifter of a rare breed called Pallas Cat. She is a real badass and I have to admit (after googling the breed), that it totally fits her description. Pallas Cats look cute, but a bit crazy and fearsome at the same time (make sure to check it out before you read this book to get the full picture) ;)
Madisyn and Bracken know each other for some time, but they don’t realize that they are true mates until one night Bracken ends up unconcious and just before he goes under, they feel the pull of the mating bond.
There was no instant love between them, which was good in my opinion and much more believable. They both had to work through some issues and insecurities before their bond fully snapped into place and I liked witnessing their journey. It was nice seeing them grow together, fell in love with each other and to see Bracken heal after the tragedy of loosing his family. He deserved to find happiness after all he’s been through and I’m glad he found it with Madisyn. They were perfect for each other.
As always, there was also some fun and action in the story, so it was a very enjoyable read. I can totally recommend it to the fans of this genre.
