Oh my what a thrilling story, I have never read such a scary plot in ages. I loved all the characters and felt the pain of Angela. Claire Allan has always been one of my favourites and has definitely made the crossover seem so easy. Great book thrilled to have read it, looking forward to the next one and maybe meeting herself sometime.
Thanks so much to Claire Allan and Avon Books for the wonderful opportunity to read and review this book. The Apple of my Eye was just brilliant. I loved it. Based in Northern Ireland one young woman is about to embark on the journey of motherhood for the first time. With an overbearing mother and a possibly cheating husband , she struggles to work out what is best for her and her unborn baby duaghter. The book is full of twists and will keep you up at night. Another great read from Allan.
An excellent read although there were some characters I didn't like.
In my opinion it wasn't a 'gripper' but I did enjoy it better than Claire's last book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Avon books for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
I was given an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review
This was moderately engaging- I liked the main character a lot as well as her friends, but the husband just seemed like a shadow and the mother was too cliche. A solid three
Wow and double wow!! Claire Allan has done it again with her 2nd book in this genre. A fabulous read, well executed and twisty!
Claire Allan's first book Her Name Was Rose was excellent. Gripping, well written and brilliantly plotted. Apple of My Eye? Even better. I raced through this, gobbling up the pages and the tense, unravelling lives of Eli, Martin and Angela. I can't say much more without spoilers so all I will say is this book is fabulous. Brilliantly drawn characters, Deceit, betrayal and love mingled into a terrible and inevitable climax. Highly recommended.
