I have been a huge fan of Interweave Knits books and magazines since I started knitting in 1998. This compendium of 100 patterns from the company's various publications will clear out some much needed space on my bookshelf. I have piles of Interweave Knits magazines dating back to the beginning of my knitterly path to woolly warmth and happiness. I couldn't help buy ooooo and aaaaaah while I flipped through the book and revisited old favorites and finding new patterns to add to my Must Knit List.
I shall be adding a copy of this book to my Christmas list in the hopes Santa will place a hard copy under my tree this year.

It will tide me over until I get my next issue of Interweave Knits in the mail. Off to dream of sugarplums knits and fuzzy warmth as fall rolls in.

100 Knits is a huge (500-plus pages) compendium of knitting patterns encompassing everything from socks to cardigans. The book is lavishly illustrated with large photographs for each pattern, and the instructions are clear and well laid out, with plenty of helpful illustrations for final assembly. The emphasis is on intricate patterns and decorative stitches. I would have preferred to see a little more diversity of yarn weights used. Although a variety of needle sizes are used, they all fall within a relatively narrow range, and it would have been nice to see more patterns using chunkier yarns. This is a beautiful book, and every knitter should be able to find at least a few tempting projects in it.
