Unforgettable is a fitting title to these two unique novellas about the chaos that love can bring on unsuspecting hearts. The question that both couples face is whether or not the payout is worth it. Two unique experiences will walk you through getting your heart ripped out and make your head spin with the consequences of less than scrupulous actions. You will ride that rollercoaster of emotion as each couple works out their predicaments despite overwhelming odds. Neither situation is ideal and both are born from circumstances that might make you cringe with discomfort or distaste. Rarely has a book elicited such strong emotions from me and made me feel so exhausted by the story’s end. Those hard feels in vivicolor won’t diminish any time soon thereafter and what a marvelous ride it was.

This was my first Elle Spencer book but it definitely won't be the last. I generally enjoy novellas especially when I don't have a lot of uninterrupted reading time. The first story was my favorite - just when you think things will work it everything goes to hell. I know a lot of readers have issues with infidelity, but I'm not one of them and I liked the second story as well. Elle Spencer has a very natural writing style and the sex writing is hot. Kudos also for the cover. I'm not normally a fan of photos on covers but this one is gorgeous.

3 Stars. I did not realize this book was two different stories, and they both felt kinda quick.

The first story was about Samantha King, an art dealer who wakes up next to a woman and doesn't remember how she got there or who the woman was. Samantha had never slept with a woman before and wishes she knew how she got to the bedroom of Mia Rossi, the sister of her high school boyfriend. Samantha and Mia are both are traveling for work and have not seen each other in 20 years. Samantha feels something different for Mia and changes her flight to spend a night with Mia since she wants to explore her feelings. Things go downhill from there and they both try to fix it. This story was interesting, but I felt like they kinda said "I love you" way too fast and their feelings seems to develop instantly. I could feel their relationship evolve, it was very fast. They both jump into the relationship quickly, even tho Sam was 'straight' before sleeping with Mia. I felt the connection between the two characters, and it was a decent story, I enjoyed reading it. I always enjoy straight girl sleeps with a woman like that.

The second story was about Abby, who is drunk at a bar and gets hit on by a woman named Kendall. Kendall takes a very drunk Abby home who pukes in a garbage can. Then next day, Abby meets Kendall on her boat and Kendall romances her and they sleep together on the boat, as they both feel a connection to each other. Kendall has some drama in her life and is married and cheated on her wife with Abby. Abby does not want to be the other woman and decided to not talk to Kendall. This book was a lot of drama and I never felt the connection between Abby and Kendall. It was there but it seemed too quick considering they knew each other two days before they started to fall in love.

Both stories were good but not great. I really liked the other book by this author and was a little disappointed by the two stories. The first story, in my opinion, was better than the second, but both stories were okay. They both had a theme of unforgettable woman the other woman can't get out of their head. They both had the two woman sleeping together early on and wanting more but can't have more because of circumstances. I would recommend it if you enjoy short stories but I am not sure I would recommend it to my friends.

Forget Her Not

I read this earlier this year and this is what I wrote as a review then:

I'm surprised I liked this quite as much as I did. It's soul-matey, insta-lovey with tons of angst and dramatic miscommunication but it had me completely hooked and invested. Samantha King wakes up in some man's hotel room after a night of what she hopes was good sex to find that the legs she sees stepping out of the shower are a woman's.

Forget her Never

Abby Dunn is getting drunk in a bar alone when a gorgeous woman offers to drive her home. She refuses after intimating the woman is a prostitute. She does end up going on a date with Kendall Squires and as much as she enjoys it, Kendall is really closed about anything to do with herself.

I enjoyed this in spite of my misgivings about infidelity (I might not have chosen it if I had read the blurb). Abby is a likeable character who has learnt from past mistakes. I’m not sure I was entirely convinced by Kendall, even by the end, but as an optimist I needed to believe love will win. Good pace, good writing and easy to recommend.

Book received from Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books for an honest review.

I'm a definite fan of Elle Spencer after reaching this set. Of the two novels only Forget Her Never was new since I've read her first novella before. The subject want easy to tackle, after all infidelity never is no matter how you spin it. In this however, it was understandable, Kendall missed romancing her wife and have someone to shower her affections on. Abby on the other hand hasn't had anyone choose her, her last relationship being as the other woman. Are they a mess? Yes! Do they deserve each other? Probably.

Like I said, this was well done with a fairly difficult subject matter. I'd like a follow-up though into Isabelle's life and why she kept going back to Italy to pursue a dalliance if she wasn't into the divorce. I mean something had to give.

Elle Spencer has a true talent of writing and pulling you into a story. She knows how to make you like her characters and make her story line flow. I can not wait for her next book to come out, I would be one of the first in line.

Elle Spencer has quickly become one of my favorite authors! Her book Casting Lacey was an incredible read. The first novella in this book is Forget Her Not, which was released last year on its own. I love everything about it. Samantha is complex and her character development is written so well in such a short amount of time. Forget Her Never has an interesting plot with the one main being married. Normally I don’t enjoy “cheating” type books but with the way this was written, I couldn’t help but love it. The theme of this book is Unforgettable and I wholeheartedly agree that I won’t soon forget either of these two novellas!
