This is a stand alone book in the Trillium Bay series. Brooke Callahgan is the youngest mayor elected in Wenniway Island. Brooke is trying to navigate her new job as Mayor and it's more than she thought it would be. While learning the ropes and making adjustments a private investigator shows up claiming there's a jewel thief on the island. Not what she needs right now. Then she meets Leo Walker bartender extraordinaire and out of work security expert in between jobs. He's there temporarily til he finds out about another job. Question is should Brooke enjoy him until he leaves or just stay away. This is my first book by this author and while i liked the story idea i was bored at times. Something just did not click with me. I didn't feel a connection between Leo and Brooke and i really wanted to. The wrap up felt a bit sloppy. I like Brooke and i liked Leo but it wasn't hard to figure out why Leo was there. I don't know. I think i need to read more from this author and see if it was the book or the mood i was in when i read it.

Funny, fun, and intelligent with the perfect touch of snark. The characters have such realistic personalities that they feel like people I’d actually like to know. The plot is fresh and imaginative, the dialog...and Brooke’s hilarious inner monologues...keep the pace of the story quick and attention grabbing. You’ll loose yourself in the momentum and find all the fun ends much too quickly.

Brooke Callaghan, the new mayor of trillium bay is aiming to bring changes on the Island and in people's mind. She doesn't have time for distractions, especially if the distraction is a sexy bartender. Leo Walker is new on Island and is looking for peace and quite to write a book. They have an undeniable chemistry which Brooke is trying to deny with all her might. No one is listening to her ideas at the council meeting. She is envious of her sister and her perfect love life. A jewel thief is on the Island according to the rumors.
I loved the book. “My kind of forever” is the second book in the series. I will definitely read the other book too. Every character is so in-depth and collectively they make a big (somewhat happy?) family. The Island is full of ordinary people having ordinary lives but the writer‘s style of writing has made them special. The best thing about this novel was Brooke‘s way of thinking. It was humorous even in serious situations. The Jewel thief made me more involved in the book.

"And one thing is for sure," she added with a chuckle, "he seems like the kind of guy who could make you forget all about any shitty old boyfriends." Well, that described Leo perfectly.

Brooke Callaghan, new mayor of Trillium Bay, was considering a fling. Leo Walker is new in town, and surely only for a short while. But Brooke is thinking it's time to throw caution to the wind and enjoy the time she has with Leo, no matter how little time that may be.

Of course, not everything is as it seems with the hot new bartender. Just as Brooke is ready to throw her whole heart into this "fling", things get turned completely upside down. After learning the truth about Leo's real reasons to be in Trillium Bay, can Brooke trust Leo again?

This was a wonderful story. I love the small town and the residents. I can't wait to hear more about Trillium Bay!

Trillium Bay on Wenniway Island is the quintessential small town, complete with quirks and charms and larger-than-life, memorable characters. Brooke Callaghan, a sixth-generation resident, has quit her teaching job and been sworn in as the new mayor. Brooke has her work cut out for her, between cleaning out decades of useless paper files, bringing the town’s technology into the current century and corralling opinionated, eccentric city council members. She really doesn’t have time to start anything with the sexy new bartender, no matter how dusty and neglected her love life might be.

The early copy I read of this book is my first by this author and I got a kick out of the setting and the colorful island residents. I really enjoyed the two main characters, and while Brogan dials back the steamy details, the chemistry between Brooke and Leo is plenty strong. And for those of you who enjoy an angsty read, there’s certainly enough here to keep you happy. Every lover of small-town romance will thoroughly enjoy this book, and I’ll be planning my next visit to Wenniway Island very soon.

I was given this book for free to provide an honest book review. I liked this romance book, especially the homey feel of the island and its residence. The descriptions were very good, making you picture clearly what the author is seeing.

The story was also cute, however you immediately know that something is not right with Leo, the main character’s love. In fact, the suspicion I constantly had about him made me lose all touches of chemistry between him and Brooke. The story progressed too slowly, and the lack of chemistry between them did not get me involved much in the book.

The love scenes were only hinted at so no explicit details were provided. Maybe I did not feel he chemistry between the characters because of this but I am not sure.

However, on the whole, the story kept me reading on to learn the mystery of Leo and to see how their love story ends. I still would recommend this book as it offered nice light reading.

Come back and visit Trillium Bay on Wenniway Island and enjoy the antics of the island's cast of happy characters!

As newly elected mayor, Brooke Callaghan is on a mission to improve the island's year-round appeal. But will she be able to convince the city council that it's in the island's best interests? And speaking of interest, there's a handsome and mysterious man on the island that captures her attention..and actually catches her when she falls out of her sister's high heels! Can she take a chance on romance with Leo, or is she better off not taking a chance at all? Oh, and add in the rumor of a jewel thief hiding on the island, and everyone is speculating on who it could be.

Lovable characters, beautiful setting, and well crafted, this book will appeal to all lovers of romance.

“My Kind of Forever” by Tracy Brogan is a quick sweet read for anyone who loves a fun romance.

Brooke Callaghan is schoolteacher turned new mayor of the small touristy community of Wenniway Island (think Mackinac Island in Michigan). The island doesn’t allow automobiles, is known for its fudge, and has one grand hotel called the Imperial Hotel. The locals who live on the island year-round are like a family and everyone is in everyone else’s business (like I said...family).

Leo Walker is the new bartender in town. He’s charming and good-looking, and he recently left a private security firm and came to the island to basically decompress and has decided he wants to write a book. He sets his sights on Brooke, and while she hesitates to get involved with him (cue back story), she can’t help but be attracted to this charismatic newcomer even though she’s pretty sure his stay on the island is temporary.

Anyone who reads romance novels on a regular basis knows the formula. Boy and girl meet, flirt, get together, have some conflict that breaks them up, and come back together. What continues to draw us to romance novels is the interaction of the characters, the back story that creates the conflict, and the execution of the reconciliation.

The story of Brooke and Leo is solid. Brooke has a believable past that makes her gun-shy about relationships. When the jewel thief story is introduced, we know it can’t be Leo because he’s too young, but we also know that his appearance on the island at the same time can’t be a coincidence. Something will be revealed about him. We just don’t know what.

I like the way the story unfolded, and I like the way it concluded. Brooke and Leo will definitely make you smile, sometimes make you laugh, and always make you want to root for them.

While there were a few F-bombs that seemed a little out of character for Brooke, there wasn’t anything explicit in the romance department, kind of like when parental warnings for PG-13 movies say sex is implied but nothing is shown. Same here. Sex is implied but not described in detail, so it’s a clean read if you’re not a fan of the explicit novels.

This is the first novel I’ve read by this author, and I’ll definitely be reading her again. Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. This title is planned for release on January 22, 2019.

In the small town of Trulillium Bay Brooke Callahan, the new mayor, feels she is missing out on something in her life, until the new bartender Leo captures her attention. Just when everything seems perfect, Brooke uncovers a life changing secret. Will she get her happily every after?
My Kind of Forever is the second book in the Trilluim Bay series, however, this can be read as a stand alone book.
I rated this book 3 stars because I felt like this story moved at an extremely slow pace, especially between the 30%-50% point.
Please do not let my thoughts stop you from reading this if you enjoy small town romace, great character development, and an exciting plot twist because you are sure to get all of that from this story!

A lovely and enjoyable romance, a pleasant read that kept hooked till the last page.
Even if it's the second in a series there was no problem in understanding the characters and their relationship.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.

First book I have read in this series, but I don't think it mattered that I hadn't read the first.

Brooke is the new mayor - she was bored and needed a challenge. She is feeling she is missing out on life, living on a small island where the dating pool is so small. Then Leo turns up. A handsome barman on the island to hide away and write a book. But he is not all he seems, and when she fnds out the truth what will happen to their relationship?

This is the second of the Trillium Bay series set in the small tourist island town. Brooke Callaghan was one of three teachers on the island and is now the new mayor of Trillium Bay. Since there are only 600 natives on the island, her love life is nonexistent. Enter Leo, a newcomer who is on the island bartending, and trying to write a book. They have a meet-cute involving a borrowed shoe and a pile of horse manure. Brooke is wary of starting a relationship with someone who may be temporary, but she eventually gives into her attraction. This is a very sweet romance sprinkled with a good amount of humor. I hope this isn’t last we see of all the quirky characters that inhabit Trillium Bay. I was given an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Trillium Bay is located on Wenniway Island off the coast or Michigan. It is a village with much tourist trade in the summer months however, fall to winter is home to the generations of Irish folks who have called the island home for years. Brooke Callaghan was a science teacher to the students on the island until one day she decided to run for mayor against Harry Blackwell, an older gentleman still set in the old ways before technology became a way of life. To her surprise, she won the election. She quits her teaching position and walks into city hall with no political experience. Brooke is a very intelligent woman and feels she can do a good job once she sorts through all of the paperwork scattered throughout her new office. Her secretary, Gertie is a wonder of knowledge. Most townsfolk believe she was the party who kept the town afloat.
This series by Tracy Brogan is a delight to read, Truly, Ms. Brogan has a sharp sense of humor and a talent for blending her stories into such a pleasant read. Looking for a comfort read in these cold, snowy days; delve into the tales of Trillium Bay,
I would like to thank Montlake Romance, Seattle and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the advance copy of My Kind of Forever.
