The spaniard’s Untouched by Maisey Yates is the first in the Innocent Brides mini series. Camilla Alvarez is determined to stay with her beloved horses when Matias Navarro acquires her families renowned rancho. Mattias does not employ women, so Camilla disguises herself as a boy to get a job as a stable hand. Her plan works until she is thrown from a horse and her ruse is discovered. To her surprise Mattias offers her a new job as his wife! Mattias needs a wife ASAP to fulfil the terms of his father’s will or his brother will.

I enjoyed this book. Maisey Yates always manages to combine humour and romance whilst creating a strong well fought out storyline. There is clearly chemistry between the two main characters. Both of them are determined individuals so sparks fly. I enjoyed the epilogue featuring their two children.

A Thoroughly Enjoyable Read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Camilla Alvarez has grown up on a ranch with her father and has an all consuming love of horses and does all the work on the ranch connected to the horses. When her father dies, she finds out that the ranch and all the horses must be sold to pay off her father's debts. The ranch is sold to Matias Navarro who will never allow her to stay and continue her work with her beloved horses as he doesn't employ women. So Camilla, who is of small stature, cuts off her hair and dresses as a youth and goes to work with her horses on Matias' ranch. Of course eventually he finds out...and that's the end of this spoiler. I would encourage you to read this story for yourself. You will definitely not be disappointed. I read it in one sitting and was left wishing the book was longer....

A rather unbelievable beginning where a beautiful girl cuts off her hair and transforms herself into a stable boy so that she can stay with her beloved horse. A large number of men around whose testosterone is obviously not working too well!!
However, eventually the ranch owner discovers her duplicity and persuades her to marry him for a short while in return for her regaining her father's ranch and her horse at the end of the marriage!
It seemed a good idea but steamy nights and love have a way of changing plans!
I enjoyed reading this.

An enjoyable marriage of convenience story with likeable characters and lots of romance.

Camilla Alvarez is devastated when her father dies and her family ranch and beloved horses are sold to Matias Navarro. Feeling she has no other options, Camilla disguises herself as ‘Cam’ the teenage stable boy, and gets herself a job at the Navarro ranch.
On the other side of the story, Matias needs a wife to inherit his share of his Grandfather’s fortune, however, his convenient intended, Lilliana, leaves/is kidnapped (it’s a bit debatable exactly what happens) and announces she has married Matias’s brother Diego. Coincidently though, Matias is about to discover Camilla’s deception, and he decides Camilla will be his new wife.
Matias and Camilla are both likeable and well written characters, and both have grown up in troubled families, so there is a bit of a bond there, and you really do root for them to come to their senses and realise they are actually perfect for each other. Without spoiling the story, the later scenes where Matias finally admits what he would be losing if Camilla is not in his life are very well written, and give a lot of depth to his character.
I did enjoy the story, and the second half of the book does have a lot going for it as a romance, and there are some good emotional moments as the story heads towards it’s conclusion, however, I would have perhaps preferred a quicker start to the story as it’s a good third into the book before Matias and Camilla meet properly, and things do seem to move very quickly from this point (a minor quibble, but only because it stopped the plot from getting going earlier in the book.)
As there are several unanswered questions about Diego and Lilliana, I can only assume they will be the subject of a future book, and this could be an interesting read based on what is hinted at here.
Overall, an enjoyable and well written read.
Thanks to M&B for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What if you lost everything you loved, you'd fight to get it back, wouldn't you?

That's exactly what Cam does, even if it means pretending to be a boy to get to be with her beloved horses. An unfortunate event brings her into close proximity with the owner Matias and then she's really in trouble. Matias is used to being pursued but he is completely floored when he finds out Cam's secret. He offers a marriage of convenience but their bodies and emotions have other ideas.

This is an emotional romance using well-loved tropes of mistaken identity and marriage of convenience. The characters are believable and likeable. The story has plenty of heat, fun and a rollercoaster of conflicts and emotions, which threaten the chance of a happy ever after.

I enjoyed this romance but felt it should have been more detailed, lots of issues are alluded to but not fully explored, despite their importance to the characters' emotional development.

The Spaniard’s Untouched Bride is a modern book by Maisey Yates. I like reading Mills & Boon books as most are only 192 pages, with being a small book, easy to pack in your suitcase wherever you are traveling too. In The Spaniard’s Untouched Bride, Camillia Alverez, father died, the ranch that Camillia had grown up in had to be sold to cover her fathers debts, with everything going to Matias Navarro. Camillia will be evicted from the ranch with nowhere to go. sadly with with the death of her father followed by the loss of the ranch and the horses too, leaving her with the only option but to work for Matias, but he won’t hire women to work for him because they always fall in love with him. How can Camillia convince Matias Navarro to give her job with her horses that he now has? What I liked about this story is that the it relates to true life. We all lose someome close to us in life. And there are people that one reason or another run into debt, with for some it becomes devastating that their home becomes repossessed. In The Spaniard’s Untouched Bride both Camillia and Matias have troubles within their family and it’s just like in true life we all at some point have family problems. I recommend Maisey Yates books as she is without question a genuine really good story teller.

My thanks to Net Galley and Mills and Boon for giving me the opportunity to read THE SPANIARD'S UNTOUCHED BRIDE..
Maisey Yates new series, Brides of Innocence begins well with this unusual take on a romantic read. Camilla Alvarez is treated like a son by her father, and there is no maternal influence as her mother has run away with one of her lovers. Camilla is pretty much her own boss and her idyllic existence on the ranch means her horses become the most important thing in her life.
When her father dies, the beloved ranch has to be sold and Camilla is left with nothing. The neighbouring ranch owned by Matias Navarro acquires Camilla's beloved horses. She decides to ask for a job at his ranch so she can be near them, with Camilla having to pretend she is a male to be accepted. When circumstances turn Camilla finds herself living in the main house with Matias. What happens next turns her life upside down and changes her view of the world...and of Matias.

A good pleasurable, romantic story, with not one but two quick weddings, from opposing brothers trying to meet the terms of a grandfathers stipulation on inheritance. They come together and call his bluff, then go after their women, finding all is not lost.

Sometimes the most precious and unexpected things can be right under your nose.

Ending in a happy ever after.
Ah!

The Spaniard’s Untouched Bride, 4 Stars 🌟

Camilla Alvarez has spent her life being allowed to do whatever she pleases, her father treated her as the son he never had and her mother was gone, off with one of her many lovers; despite this to Camilla it was an idyllic existence the rancho was her home and the horses were her friends and family. But when her father passes away suddenly she is left with nothing, her rancho and her beloved horses gone, the life she has known for the last 22 years is being sold off to settle her father's debts leaving Camilla with nothing, alone and homeless.

Neighboring Business Man Matias Navarro is the new owner of Camilla’s home and horses; so when his staff come to take possession of the Alvarez horses, Camilla begs and pleads for a job, only to be told “He doesn’t hire women”. With nothing to lose Camilla feels her only solution is to pretend to be a young stable boy in order to stay close to her beloved horses.

Once on Matias's rancho it is Camilla’s intention to work hard and keep her head down until a minor accident results in her having to move into the main house, making her the perfect substitute bride when her deception comes to light and Matias's Fiancé is stolen. But what starts off as a temporary business arrangement soon becomes something more for them both, and as Matias teaches Camilla there is more to life than her horses, can Camilla teach Matias to face his fears and embrace her love to live HEA!

Ms. Maisey Yates is a New York Times bestselling author and is one of my go to writers her characters are well rounded and captivating, so if you enjoy romance then you won't be disappointed.

The Spaniard's Untouched Bride is the first book in Ms. Maisey Yates latest miniseries Brides of Innocence, which although it is primarily Camilla and Matias’s story, Ms Maisey Yates has cleverly woven a tantalizing glimpse into Matias's brother Diego's story, so if you enjoyed this book then Kidnapping His Virgin Bride, Diego and Liliana's story is set to be a wonderful sequel.

I received my copy from Netgalley and Mills and Boon via Mills and Boon Insiders, but this does not influence my opinions as all opinions are my own.
