I really enjoyed reading this book! I will be passing it to my daughter as she is into chapter books now and it is an excellent length for those beginning to read chapter books. The text is funny and engaging and I will be recommending it to my schools and book groups. I love Captain Cat and his gang of animals! The fact that they look out for the pirates is so funny and it makes a change of the animal being almost inanimate. The animals are brave and daring and get into all sorts of trouble. They are particularly good at sorting the pirates problems and getting them out of trouble.
