Thankyou to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and the author, Scott Bonn, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Evil Guardian in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I thought this book provided a good read. The storyline was well thought out and written with well developed characters. The imagery was highly descriptive and realistic enough to make you cringe.
Worth a read.

Seems strange to admit that a book written about a serial killer could be engrossing but this one is definitely that
Well written fascinating storyline.
Written by a criminology professor and based on a true story - one is left to wonder which serial killer did he base his story on.
Hard to put down although it made me wince more than once.

This was an enthralling crime novel. I was engaged from page one. Bonn captures the mind of a serial killer and details the twisted intent of Charles Lundquist. Thanks to BooksGoSocial and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

This one was a disappointment - I wanted to like it, but it was so wooden I had a tough time caring about anyone involved. The concept is interesting and the story itself is fine but it reads like a statement of facts rather than a novel. I've seen another review that compared it to a screenplay treatment, and that is sort of how it feels - like the descriptions given are meant as notes for an actor who has to portray this character rather than a novelist's description that furthers the story. It sets the stage but never gets under your skin as a result... A fair amount of the dialogue felt a bit forced and overly dramatic - again, like it was meant to be a guide to creating the characters/setting the scene, rather than an actual story on its own. Overall it was interesting, because of the underlying story, but it needs a rather strong edit and rewrite if it wants to be a real addition to the crime novel genre.

This book promises so much yet sadly I felt it did not deliver.
Plot was a little weak as were the characters.
Thank you to both NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my eARC of this book in exchange for my honest unbiased review.

Thank you to netgalley for the advance review on this.

I see that there are some that have rated this 5 stars making me wonder if they are just he street team. I don't see where they were given this book by a publishing company in advance. If it was, then they did not notate that.

I give this a 2 star rating.

This book did not grab me. I love the concept of the story but the writing of the book did not bring this book alive. I guess I have seen this done a couple of times and just found myself not enjoying it as much. It is a great concept and if this is your first time reading a book like this, you may really enjoy it but I don't feel this was a 5 star read at.

Would I pick something else by the author, maybe but I will have to be able to get into the book and not make myself read it.

I could hardly come up for air whilst reading this book. It certainly had me on the edge of my chair! It felt as if i was racing around with the FBI trying to catch the Guardian (Charles Lundquist), who was killing young girls and dropping them in to the river, tied up with blue cord and a heavy iron cross around their necks. I will certainly be wanting to read more by this author. Recommended.

My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy. This is my honest review.
