Not sure if my enjoyment of this book was diminished because I’ve already got book 5 so knew already it was going to follow the pattern of books 1-3. I thought for this one you needed to really suspend belief given what most of this book was based on, it’s not been as prevalent in the previous books and again I didn’t particularly enjoy it.

This is the 4th book in the Jane Hawk series and they have all been good, this one didn’t disappoint either. Dean really knows how to tell a good story, his writing feels almost effortless the way he tells it and the characters are very believable and relatable. It’s a creepy storyline that grips you. I feel it’s better to read the series from the start rather than start with this book as some parts may not make sense. I definitely recommend this book and series. A brilliant author.

The forbidden door is the 4th in the Jane Hawk series, Jane Hawk is an ex FBI agent who is being hunted from a shady group called the Arcadians who have found a way of using nano technology to alter peoples brains and make them in to unsuspecting puppets, Janes husband commited suicide but a story has been put out saying she killed him and she is trying to seek the truth and protect her young son from being caught. the novel has a slow build up of tension and is left on a cliffhanger ready for book 5, although it isn't a book that works as a standalone novel so if you haven't read any of the others then start at the begining.

Really enjoyed this novel. The writing flowed and the characters were depicted very well. Couldn't wait to find out what happens next.
