For many, The Last Time I Saw You, would be a great novel. Sadly, I didn't find it so. I found the life of the main character Dr Kate English to be shallow despite her being a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon (of which we saw nothing). Set amongst the uber rich, a plot unravels to destabilise Kate's mental health to the point she trusts almost no one. The novel hots up towards the end where festering jealousies are explained as the root cause of all the threats against Kate and indeed Kate's own guilt about the death of her boyfriend Jake and how it affects her marriage to Simon. Whilst clever in the twists and turns, it was so far removed from real life it lost its appeal.

It would be very unfair to write a review on this book as I started numerous times but never actually finished the book.

An enjoyable thriller, however I wasnt as gripped as I had hoped to be, but still a good title to while away an evening with.

I was really looking forward to reading this one but found it just OK. It was predictable and not much to it.

Sorry, what a lot of utter balderdash - two former classmates, now successful, immensely rich but totally unlikeable professional women in their midforties have still not overcome their petty childhood grievances, resulting in murder and harebrained acts of terror. Add to that one omnipresent precocious five year old girl (whose interjections, books, food choices, garments and daily hairstyle changes are always described in exhaustive detail!) and you have the makings of this boring timewaster of a book. As I was given an ARC in return of my honest opinion: Beware!

A really juicy and gripping thriller. I found it to drag in parts, hence the 4 stars, but it's still a fantastic book with a great ending you won't expect. Highly recommend

Thanks to Net Galley and Harper Collins UK for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review.
A physiological thriller with some twists and turns along the way.
Kate’s mother has been murdered, the killer is now playing with Kate’s mind, sending texts to her phone and emails to her laptop, she suspects everyone including her husband Simon.
Her estranged friend Blaire attends her mother’s funeral and in the days afterwards they start to rebuild their schoolgirl friendship. Has Blaire put the hurts of the past behind her? Time will tell.
I did work out some of the plot quite early on but there was still a few twists at the ending.
Great read - I apologise that I am only reading this was now. Will definitely read more from this author.

If you're hoping for another Last Mrs Parrish, you're going to be disappointed. An unbelievable plot combines with unlikable characters to make for a book which is okay but not great.

When Kate's mother is murdered, suspects are all around her. Who can she trust?

Unfortunately, since she's impossible to warm to, it's difficult to care, although I did manage to read all the way through to the end, which features a pretty mundane twist.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC without obligation.

A 5 star for this! It is the follow up to The Last Mrs Parrish which is also excellent. And it was hugely anticipated. Doesn’t disappoint. A murder and the after effects for a privileged family. Who could kill the kind and benevolent Lily? Well read it and find out. Read this in 4 hours without looking up!

I loved "the Last Mrs Parrish" in 2017. It was one of the first books I reviewed here on NetGalley and it's stuck with me to now - some 50'odd books later for this review for the same author. What a difference a few years make!

Unfortunately, this one didn't live up to the previous book.
I couldn't quite put my finger on what was lacking for me on the whole. Some of the steps taken by the characters were just a little too unbelievable to not make me stop and think about things and question them, rather than going with the flow of the book/story.
Generally the story/plot was fine, even if one of the main twists I had predicted, I certainly didn't predict who the murderer was. But by the time that was revealed so many other twists/developments had taken place in a short space of time at the end of the book that it was a bit of an underwhelming revelation. I think the intention was to build it to a climax but I didn't get the feeling of tension or pace to turn the pages. Sorry.

I don't want this review to focus on the negative as it was O.K. overall - living up to the previous novel was going to be a tall order (as I LOVED that). But by comparison I won't remember this one in another 50'odd books time.

As ever however, thank you for the preview version on NetGalley, for which I am very grateful.

Oh my god total creep fest this one, seriously had me on the edge of my seat. I thought it was a super book and I raced through it to the end, hooked you from the start and kept you guessing throughout. Too read a must buy!

This book missed the mark for me. It was too repetitive and predictable with way too many characters and red herrings. I got bored which is a shame as I loved the last book “the last Mrs Parish” so much. I felt that there should have been less characters with more in-depth character development and a more believable storyline. Kate annoyed me so badly that her OTT reactions became difficult to sympathise with or believe.
Thank you to Harper Publishing, Netgalley UK and Liv Constantine’s for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved "The Last Mrs Parrish and was really looking forward to this. I found it difficult to find any rapport with Kate English and found her irritating at times. The plot was a bit too far fetched and yes there some interesting twists and turns but not enough to grab the reader (or this reader anyway) I found the lifestyle that this very spoiled, affluent family lived very off putting and unreal, and as the book went on, the story seemed to become more farcical.

Great read with lots of twists and turns. Shows how the mind and lives can be manipulated by people you live and trust. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me review it.

Sorry I gave up on this poorly written book at about70% as I really didn’t care what happened and was not willing to waste more time to find out. Does the author think that just because she drops some acclaimed authors names into conversations that this signifies ‘well read’, or that she mentions a few designers means upper class? The story starts with the main protagonist’s mother being murdered - did we get any emotion? Did we get any further with how, why, who? No we got drivel

I had loved Liv's last book, The Last Mrs. Parrish so I got this one. However, I did not like this one. I did finish the book.

The writing was fine, as was the storyline but it felt like I couldn't empathize with any of the characters and was not invested. I gave up on it eventually. Just my opinion though

I had seen a lot of mixed reviews on this book but I like to go into a book with an open mind and, given how much I enjoyed the last book by the authors, I did just that.

Kate’s mother has been murdered and now it seems the murderer is threatening Kate. Her mother was a pillar of the community, devoting her life to helping those less fortunate than herself, and her death has shocked everyone to the core. Who could possibly want her dead?

Kate is a Doctor and married to Simon with a soon to be five year old daughter whom she adores. At the funeral she reconnects with her childhood friend Blaire - they used to be inseparable until Simon came along and got between them, leading Kate to choose Simon over Blaire. Blaire is now a successful author of a crime series and promises Kate she will do everything in her power to solve her mother’s murder.

All in all a good thriller though I can see why some readers found it a bit over the top in parts. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I did try to enjoy this book but sadly did not manage to . I found the Baltimore high society characters to be unpleasant and I didn't finish the book
