Leilani is bringing her mother’s ashes home to Hawaii. Her aunt has sent an urgent message to her mum to come immediately.
This is a loveable Christmas angel tale with plenty of humour in Leilani’s first meeting with Kale Jordan. Throw in a prickly little cousin Mano who needs a new mum and you have the perfect touching story for Christmas.
I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
This book was by far the best of this series. I was hesitant at the start of the series but you could probably even start here as your first book since they don’t actually connect any characters along the way.
Leilani has had a tough time of it. She’s taken gave of her resentful mother for some time and now that she’s passed away, she’s taken her ashes to be spread over her homeland – Hawaii. The timing couldn’t be better since it is Christmas and she’s alone. A mysterious letter from a long lost relative only gives her more inspiration to travel back “home.” Through some sort of divine intervention, she ends up winning an upgraded stay, getting a wonderfully entertaining and energetic tour guide, and getting trapped in an elevator with a sexy guy. OK, so maybe she didn’t’ want to get trapped in an elevator, but it certainly doesn’t end up hurting.
For Kale, getting trapped in that elevator is just what his newly single, overworked soul needs. Leilani has a spirit that warms all those around her. He finds himself sucked into her world and easily accepts his new role. She quickly finds her old family, new family, and a lot of drama, too! There’s a bit of action, some bad people, but this story had me smiling and laughing, enjoying the true “spirit of Christmas.” If you’re looking for a good story to read around the holidays, this is it!
In this Leilani taking a trip to Waikiki to spread her mom’s ashes. Call from an aunt she has never mer and why now. Stuck in an elevator with a handsome man. Story of choices, Christmas season, and love. enjoyable cute story to read as all of hers are.
This is a really nice romance set around a Christmas setting.
The characters were fairly basic with no great depth.
A really easy read.
Overall a good story. Leilani goes to Hawaii to scatter her mother's ashes in the place she was born. Coming from Canada, Leilani is taking her first ever trip, and is amazed by everything. She is also coming to meet her mom's sister, who she never knew existed, and ends up meeting a little 4 year old boy as well. She also meets Pi, a wonderful angel who drives a taxi, and she meets handsome Kale, who runs a luxury hotel. The only thing I didn't like was the speed of the story, which meant some things are not expanded on for details. For example, she never did scatter her mother's ashes. And the speed of the romance was super fast, considering he was coming off a really bad affair. Other than that, I highly recommend this book and author.
A sweet relaxing book with a few surprises around the corner., Lenani found herself with an aunt she didn’t know about but only for a day, a little delightful cuz who hated her and another that only want money. It’s clean and Mildly entertaining with a bit of Christmas magic flowing around, giving it a nice blend not too exciting but okay.
