A Nurse to Heal His Heart is written by Louise George and it's published by Mills & Boon Medical. This is a heart warming story of a nurse given a second chance at life following a heart transplant and a doctor GP who is just starting to emerge from the grief of losing his wife and who has been caring for his little girl alone, and their rocky start when she comes as a locum to his practice. I loved the interaction between these two (pardon me! Three characters as you aren't able to forget the young daughter), and the rocky path to their HEA! I love Louisa George's books, and this one was no exception. Recommended.

A nurse to heal his heart is a cute contemporary medical novel following Rose who just recently moved in town as the new locum nurse and Joe. Joe is a Doctor at the clinic and their interactions are cute and steamy. I really liked the interaction between Rose and Kira, I thought it was very sweet, much like Rose's personality. Rose was my favourite character, she is full of life and colour giving the fact that she has been through some traumatic experiences.

I liked the dynamics between the two and their chemistry was on point most of the time. I say most of the time as on two different occasions I found him downright creepy and pushy in a sexual manner. I liked his character a lot less than Rose's. He would often blow hot or cold towards her, he had been outright mean to her on a number of occasions when she did not deserve it (jerk!). I do not think he was quite deserving of her if I am being honest, on one occasion he makes a decision for her that would impact on her life and he is twisting the situation so much that Rose kinda forgets her argument.

Overall, I have really enjoyed it. 3.5 stars

Good story of romance based around the future living and loving of a heart transplant nurse, the drawing to, meeting and falling for a new love. It's about coming to terms with life, past and present and looking to the future with fun, love, laughter, quirkiness and positivity.

A Nurse to Heal His Heart is written by Louise George and published by Mills & Boon Medical. This book combines drama, romance, angst, a little girl, secrets, love and heartache in this will they/ won’t they storyline. Dr Joe Thompson is a grumpy GP in Oakdale, a village in the Lake District. He is nursing a broken heart after his wife died unexpectedly 5 years ago. He is bringing up his little daughter, Katie, alone and doesn’t feel as though he will ever love again. Rose McIntyre is a locum nurse who has travelled up to the Lake District to fill in at his practice for a few weeks. She is trying to break away from her overbearing mother who has hovered over her since her heart transplant 5 years ago and to recover from a breakup with her first love. Despite all this emotional baggage and a will they or won’t they storyline they slowly develop a loving relationship. This embryonic relationship, however, may be destroyed forever by revelations about what happened 5 years ago.

I find sometimes medical romances can become disjointed or cluttered by trying to combine romance and medical drama. This book combines the two perfectly so neither overpowers or takes away from the the other element. Both sides seamlessly work together to create an enjoyable read.

After being given a second chance with a donor heart. Rose is determined to live a life good enough for two people. She trains as a nurse and takes a job as a locum. Arriving in the Lake District, she meets Joe her boss. Joe lives a quiet life with his daughter and taking care of his patients as the local GP.
Neither are looking for romance, but fate has other plans for them. The first time these two meet, it doesn't particularly go well. Then when they meet for the second time at the medical practice, all hell breaks loose. The more time these two spend together the sparks start to fly. I do love a second chance romance. Everything seems sweeter. It gives the reader hope. Sometimes love happens when you least expect it. Recommended for fans of medical, contemporary second chance romance.

A Story of Second Chance's, 4 Stars 🌟

When locum nurse Rose McIntyre's second chance at life leads her to the beautiful Lake District village of Oakdale, it isn't long before her colourful dressing and warm heart draws the attention of the villages resident GP, “grumpy” Dr Joe Thompson and his daughter Katy, but when Rose’s past medical history threatens to come between them can Joe fight for Rose and embrace their second chance at life so that they can live HEA!

Ms Louisa George's latest book; A Nurse to Heal his Heart is an emotional story of second chance's and embracing life, despite the challenges you face. The books main medical theme runs seamlessly with moments of drama intricately mixed with the day to day life at the local GP practice. With beautifully written warm likeable characters, this is definitely one to read for fans of romance and if you enjoyed this story then Ms Louisa George has laid the groundwork for an tempting follow up with Beth and Dr Alex story definitely one to lookout for.

I received my copy from Netgalley and Mills and Boon via Mills and Boon Insiders, but this does not influence my opinions as all opinions are my own.

What an apt title for this book - everything in it is centred around the heart, though not always his! Rose McIntyre has travelled to the Lake District to work as a locum nurse for a few weeks. She's a warm, friendly character who has gone there to give herself a chance to live out from under her over protective mother's eyes and explore life and living after a traumatic time and breaking up with her boyfriend. On her first morning she meets the grumpy Joe Thompson and his cheery eight year old daughter, Katie, neither realising they're about to work together as he's one of the local doctors. As if that wasn't a bad enough start, her first visit to the surgery proves dramatic, too - but you'll need to read it yourself to find out why. Joe has been in something of a fog for the last five years after his wife tragically died and Rose is determined to avoid any romantic encounters but there are sparks between them that they'll find hard to resist - until revelations from five years ago make both of them reconsider their possible relationship. . . .

This is a story with plenty of twists and turns that mean the couple really have a "will they/won't they" relationship where things seem to be going smoothly then something else forces them apart again . . . . There's secrets, a life-saving rescue, medical drama, heartache and heart break and a lovely, close community - and a great youngster - in this delightful heartwarming romance. If you enjoy medical romance this is a very different one that you'll probably enjoy!

I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

This was a lovely story about two people finding love after adversity. Rose, after needing to take a break from her overprotective mother and find her own feet after a life changing surgery comes to work for Joe, a single father just starting to come through the fog of grief after losing his wife, it was really nice to watch them dance around each other, whilst fighting the growing attraction. Very well written

An apt title for a novel that centres around Rose, who has had a heart transplant and comes to work as locum nurse at a doctor's practice in the Lake District. As she arrives the receptionist, who is also the main partner's mother in law,has a heart attack. Then we discover the Dr's wife died and her heart was a donor organ the day that Rose had her transplant.
The whole novel revolves around the question - whose heart did Rose receive? This causes a 'will they, won't they' state of play for their romance.
This was alright to pass a winter's afternoon but, really, was nothing special.
