Such a cute and quick read. As with everything Cynthia Eden writes the characters and plot are fantastic. I thought the idea behind this story was interesting and unique. I had a hard time putting this one down because I just had to see what happened next.
Such a great read, I'm a fan of most of Cynthia's books and this one goes into the enjoyed column. He's trying to do what he can to charm her but he isn't sure how to go about it. It's entertaining to watch. This is a fast read and all the characters are well written.
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book
Devereaux and Lark meet in an action packed way and once they meet the story just keeps on rolling from there. It overall was a very good read that was packed with action and heat.
Lark was always told my her mum to stay away from the monsters. Well, she would know what she was talking about - she was a monster hunter. But Lark finds herself drawn to the uber monster of them all, Prince of Vampires - Devereaux Mancini. It's getting harder to ignore him, especially when he keeps saving her life. But his wooing technique - it needs WORK!
Well paced, great characters and an easy world to fall into. Lots of the secondary characters could easily have their own book too, which means more books could come! Fast fix for your paranormal wants!
Absolutely loved "Midnight Bite" by Ms. Eden. A superb paranormal with a touch of the holidays. Good solid plot. I truly loved Devereaux and he can bite me any day of the week.
Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Lark is freaking hilarious and that oh so sexy Devereaux, the vampire prince, cue the drool. So Lark doesn't know some things about herself, that dear old evil and mean mommy dearest neglected to tell her. So on her Birthday she is in for some surprise. Devereaux her fated mate, is also keeping secrets. Lol. I enjoyed this story, just like I have enjoyed any and all stories written by the awesome Ms. Eden. 4.5 Fabulous stars*****
P. S. I really, really, really want a story about Salvatore. Pretty please? Lol.

MIDNIGHT BITE is a standalone paranormal romance by Cynthia Eden. This is very different from the types of stories Cynthia Eden normally writes. There are no serial killers or lab experiments gone very, very wrong. This book has a kind of fairy tale quality to it and is more BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER than CRIMINAL MINDS. The story opens with a young woman waiting for her blind date to show up on New Year's Eve. What Lark Kingsley gets is a rampaging vampire and another vampire acting as her dashing savior. Lark doesn't want any of it - the vampire bad guys, the vampire good guys, and everything else paranormal. Her mother ruined her childhood and soured her on all things supernatural and human interaction with it. Again, what Lark wants and what she gets are two very different things. What she gets is a hot vampire prince with his sights set immovably on her. Torrid trysts follow.
Cynthia Eden tells this story from alternating perspectives, which gives readers what Lark doesn't get - Prince Devereaux Mancini's innermost thoughts. Although he falls for Lark in stages, Dev bends the truth and tells Lark the bits and pieces that best suit his hidden agenda. Dev isn't a villain in this story, just a bit self-serving. However, what gives this hero a little depth is his guilt for the lies he tells. This book is full of heroes, villains, and some characters who are a bit of both. Cynthia Eden dives into Lark's past and explains why all things paranormal are so off-putting for her. Eventually, Lark figures out what and who is most important to her and stands up for herself and what she wants.
MIDNIGHT BITE has a charming vampire prince, tons of passion, and evil lurking around every corner. Hellhounds and world domination are just two obstacles to true love in this tantalizing tale. Romance and sexy times are balanced perfectly with action and adventure. I look forward to Cynthia Eden's next novel.
If you want a story pulsating with mystery and fire and of course bad guys then this book ticks all those boxes. Best of all though is the fact that not everything is black or white and just who is good and who is bad gets put to the test. I think you can tell I loved it and I can't wait to read the next book.

Midnight Bite is a great read, very fast paced but that was because there was so much world building in a novella.
MIDNIGHT BITE by Cynthia Eden is a contemporary, adult, stand alone, paranormal, romance novella focusing on advertising specialist Lark Kinsley, and vampire prince Devereaux.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Lark and Devereaux) MIDNIGHT BITE follows Lark Kinsley on the eve of her twenty-sixth birthday. Lark is all too aware of the supernatural. As the daughter of a ‘monster hunter’, Lark chose not to follow in her mother’s footsteps but the repercussions of her mother’s career have followed our heroine for all of her life. Unaware of a secret deal made between the supernatural community, Lark has no idea that at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, she will become the number one target of the paranormal world. Enter Prince Devereaux, the man with whom she will fall in love, but a man who is everything she has been taught to destroy.
MIDNIGHT BITE is a fast paced story about a vampire willing to do anything to protect the woman he has waited for all of his life, a woman who is the prize is a decades old war between the supernatural and the hunter; a woman completely unaware that she is more than meets the eye. Lark Kinsley was taught to hate the paranormal beings who inhabit the world but falling in love with the prince of the vampires is completely unexpected with benefits that pull our heroine into a life she was about to embrace. The premise is entertaining and engaging; the romance is a passionate and quick to develop; the characters are sassy and colorful. MIDNIGHT BITE is a quick read: pull up a chair and embrace the dark side of happily ever after.

Midnight bite is a short completely stand-alone book by Cynthia Eden. It might be a novella, but it felt a lot longer and it was dragging out if you ask me. I couldn't devour it as a do with books with this length and I had to take a break. It's not one of the author's best works and I don't think that a first-time reader of the author should start with this book. It wasn't bad, but the writing wasn't as good as I am used to from CE. Something was holding me back from loving the book and I can't pinpoint what that was exactly. I wasn't bothered by the insta lust or the fast pace Lark and Dev's relationship had. If you are not a fan of insta-love, the book is not for you. Despite everything, I wouldn't mind having more books based on this universe with some of the characters we saw here. The book has given me mixed feelings and on one hand, I liked it and on the other, it had some points that were not good and gave me some not so good feelings. I won't say if I recommend the book or not, because I feel like I am in the middle.
A great fast read that drew you in from the first page it is only a novella length read but unlike most novella's this doesn't feel rushed at all that it probably due to the talent of Cynthia Eden
This is the story of Larke all her life she has been told that she is a disappointment and now she has managed to get herself on a date from hell. Deveraux is fast turning into a stalker and he is telling her that he isn't good enough for her so why does he keep following her. They grow to like one another end up saving one another and many secrets will come out in the process Overall a great fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed
A kiss on New Year’s Eve is supposed to be lucky…but a vampire bite? That’s not exactly something a woman dreams of getting. And when Lark Kinsley gets bit, all bets are off. She stakes her date, runs into the night, and tries to put the whole nightmare behind her. When I started reading I couldn't put it down. Cynthia Eden is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can't wait for the next book.
Midnight Bite by Cynthia Eden is the story of Devereaux Mancini and Lark Kinsley.
Devereaux has been waiting for Lark and he isn't letting go once he makes hi move. Lark is skeptical about Devereaux and what he is trying to tell her. But there are other people wanting her that want to hurt her. So Devereaux has his work cut out for me.
I am a fan of Ms. Eden's writing so this was a easy read for me...loved it.
Midnight Bite is the latest release from Cynthia Eden and while I enjoyed the concept of the story I thought the execution was ridiculous. In my opinion it was to short to form any connections between the characters so their interactions reminded me of a B movie. If your not familiar with Ms. Eden I would recommend you don't start with this book because Midnight Bite isn't a good example of her work.

A solid, stand alone paranormal romance for New Year's Eve.
Dev, a vampire prince, has been hiding in the shadows, watching Lark from a far. However, he's not the only one trying to get to her. Lark's mother was a fierce monster hunter who made a lot of enemies.
Will Dev save Lark, or will Lark end up saving him?

Midnight Bite is the perfect blend in a quick story, it has lots of hot passion, sizzling romance, and edge of your seat danger. The characters are strong and convincing which really pulls readers into their story and this fast paced plot takes over from there and holds them hostage. The romance may be fast paced but it is feisty and hot as the characters struggle with secrets, plots and manipulations while their sizzling attractions and emotions keeps their interactions quite tense. With an intriguing plot, secrets being revealed and surprising twist keeping the characters in turmoil, readers find that they have to read every last page of this thrilling holiday story.
Midnight Bite is a fun novella by Cynthia Eden just in time for the new year. It is a traditional vampire tale in many respects but has a few twists as the story goes along too. Being a novella there is not the time to develop the characters in the same depth as Cynthia Eden’s full length novels. Still I found it to be an enjoyable read. Being a little over a hundred pages on my reader, it is easily read in one evening.
Lark Kinsley and Prince Devereaux were the main characters with the main love story but several other character such as Prince Devereaux’s head security vamp, Salvatore were interesting too. If this is an introduction to a new series, I know exactly whose story I want to read next.
What a great little read! The thing I love about romances with vampires is the way the hero is totally obsessed with the heroine and that is exactly what Devereaux is. He is protective and possessive and a bit uncertain of himself where she is concerned which endeared him to me even more. I loved that he wanted to charm her and hadn’t the first inkling of how to do so. He is the least charming vampire in history. While his plan begins with a certain agenda, it takes a drastic change once he has Lark in his arms and each moment afterwards continues to change what he initially set out to do.
This is a short, fast paced read with plenty of steam. As all heroes and heroines written by this author, the characters are fierce and independent with plenty of insta-everything although not overly written to be so. I enjoyed watching Lark come into her own as well as the secondary characters that added additional humor and dimension to the story. This is a perfect read for the holidays.
Midnight Bite by Cynthia Eden is a fast-paced vampire romance novella that is just a lot of fun to read. Although it is classified as a novella, it doesn't really feel like one. It's too short for a novel, but it didn't have the shallowness that you often find with novellas that do not form part of a larger series. Midnight Bite had well-developed characters and an in-depth plot.
It was hard to not like Lark. Raised with the idea that she was nothing but a disappointment, a failed monster hunter, she is simply trying to have a ‘normal’ life. An attempt that quickly ends on her 26th birthday. Deveraux was a great character. He has been criticised for his insta-love and possessiveness, but it’s all explained later in the story. The extremely fast relationship development is a casualty of the novella format. After all, there are only so many words, some of those have to be devoted to developing the story, not just focussing on Lark and Dev’s romance!
I was curious about Lark’s father, although what he was, was fairly obvious from early on. The climax of the story was over quickly, but again this is a result of the shorter novella format.
This book was a page-turner, it grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go. Although completely satisfying in the novella format, it has the makings of a really good book where the characters and plot could be really fleshed out. But that is really just me being greedy and not wanting to let these characters and world go after a short visit.
For anyone looking for a quickish holiday read with a good plot, a strong romance, and interesting secondary characters, you can’t go past Cynthia Eden’s Midnight Bite.
