Entertaining sexy vampire story from a fabulous author. I loved these characters and want more of them. It’s New Year’s Eve and Lark’s birthday and she’s on the date from hell until the sexy vampire Prince drops in to save her. Bite me, kiss me and ... That’s what Lark wants from the hunky Prince Devereaux. Whew, he’s hot and swoon worthy! Dev is ready to take his Queen but she’s not quite there yet. As she contemplates her decision Dev protects her when a slew of baddies are out to get her. Everything Lark thought about her life is wrong and she deals with the lies and deceit while coming to terms with her new existence. There’s lots of action, secrets, lies and steamy sex in this terrific paranormal story. I hope we get more stories from this world. Love Salvatore and Noren.
A fun New Year's novella. You got a stalking vampire prince for a hero, a failed monster hunter for a heroine, and every supernatural species out to kill her for her mothers deeds.
I enjoy this authors books because she always brings the safe stories that have the jealous and possessive heroes. Even though Devereaux technically stalked Lark until she was 26, he only protected her from a distance. Once he was able to pursue her, every wish was her command. She just didn't want to be in command.
Even though Lark didn't want to be a monster hunter, her mother's words were still engrained in her. She was taught never to listen to a vampire. What she didn't know is her mother had not told her the whole truth.
You get a good chase in this book. Lark fights her attraction and Dev pursues relentlessly even though he won't push Lark to accept him. Like usual, the author had some intriguing side characters that I hope get their own story!
I loved this novella.
Larks out of luck on this 26th birthday she's about to find out that that normal life she has so desperately craved was never meant to be hers in the first place..Poor Lark has to deal with a blind date from hell, the Prince of vampires, werewolves and the paranormal community who may or may not be seeking her head on the quest for revenge.
OK, a few of things about this book:
- I did not realize it was not really a full novel at 150ish pages, but great for a 1 day read.
- Almost oversexed but not too much especially for Cynthia Eden
- Liked the story and the couple but it was a bit frustrating for about half the book.
- It read more like a short story meaning that things moved much faster than in normal novels which is good and bad since a lot of things did not get explained.
- Everything considered it DID keep my attention and no scanning was done, took awhile before the real plots behind the ones you could see so 4 Stars for a good quick story and a decent plot.
Truly amazing! First book from the author and consider me a true fan from now on! I loved how she writes! Author is amazing!
I loved how protective hero was and how passionate he was with her. The were true mates. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Thank you for this opportunity! And if you're looking for more readers please consider me!
I fell in love with Lark frombthe start. She was witty and had a backbone which i love in my heroine. She was a character i could definitely get behind. Dev was also a compelling hot and sexy alpha vamp with some serious sex appeal. His love and devotion to Lark from the beginning made for a really sweet read. I love this author and this book did not disappoint in cementing her as one of the best paranormal romance authors i have ever come across.
Lark has had a unique upbringing being raised by her monster hunting mother. She carries a wooden stake around because she was trained to always be prepared. But Lark never took to her mother's calling and doesn't understand when on her 26th birthday she becomes a monster magnet. Watching her mother killed by shifters years ago was traumatic but now shifters, witches, and vampires are all out to get her. When Lark meets Devereaux, a royal vampire, she finds out the truth and has to decide what her future will be. Great paranormal romance novella!
4 - "You were worth the flames…" Stars!
Cynthia Eden delivers up a quick and sexy story in the New Year’s novella Midnight Bite.
"Choose me…"
How do you explain an attraction to a man that you have been told your whole life is your enemy? That’s the position Lark finds herself in with Prince of the Vampires; Devereaux Mancini, the guy is consistent in his attempts to keep her safe, even if his efforts at wooing her could do with a little fine tuning.
Lovers.
Partners.
Mates.
Forever.
But being a vampire puts him in the strictly ‘no way’ category for Lark, after being told by her mother (a monster hunter) from an early age, that all paranormal beings are mad, bad and dangerous to know, and should be killed by any means necessary.
"All I wanted was to have a chance with you… All I wanted was to have you…"
As you would expect, the story is easy to get along with, the characters likeable, and as is a regular trait with a read by this author, a few secondary characters who could do with their own stories too. This is a quick read, and if you are looking for a paranormal fix well worth a couple of hours of your time over the festive period.
Midnight Bite is the latest paranormal romance from Cynthia Eden and if you like her books--you will love this one!
Lark is on the blind date from hell when she is saved from the dark Prince Devereaux. Who is a vamp. As the daughter of a hunter, she knows just what he is, but doesn't know why she'd drawn to him. Or why all of the sudden every paranormal is trying to kill her.
This author definitely has a formula to her books, but they're so good it doesn't matter. I've read everything by her, and this one is right up there with all of the rest!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Hocus Pocus Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. What a fun story. It is a quick read, but fun and full of surprise! New Years Eve date from hell. Lol. This is Park's story, daughter of a hunter, who doesn't want to hunt, and Devereaux, Prince of vampires. Hmmm that should say it all. Cute story that I think most paranormal romance readers will enjoy. I give it a 4.
