I love sports romances. So I was looking forward to reading Rookie in Love.
I really wanted to love it, but it sadly missed the mark for me.

The book started out strong with the way the characters met. I was excited.
And then it was a series odd encounters. A lot of them getting to know each other was skimmed over. There wasn’t any witty sexy banter that I crave in my favorite romance novels.
Madeline is young and it showed. She was immature, wishy-washy and unrelatable.
Jackson was just okay. I really wish we had his POV to read and compare.

This storyline had a lot of potential but it felt rushed, awkward and unnatural. Sadly, I can’t say I’d recommend.

This is my first book by this author and it won’t be the last because I really enjoyed Rookie in Love.
I loved the characters and the storyline it drew me in from the first chapter and kept me interested to the very last line. The hero is a cool, rough loveable jock who knows how to charm the ladies but underneath his cool bad boy image is a loveable guy who when he falls he falls big....
This is a quick entertaining fun hot read it will make you smile it will make you swoon and it has the perfect mix of humour, passion and angst, it’s easy to read and the story flows really well. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Sarah White’s Rookie in Love is a sweet, sexy story of finding love in college. Madeline has well-meaning if controlling male family members that have her life all mapped out, even down to who she should marry after college. The fact that she slowly breaks away is not as much of a surprise as that it took her so long to do so. She does so with another college student, Jackson. Jackson has the star player reputation to go with his star football playing ability. Still I liked him better than Madeline’s family family’s choice.

The story is a fun escapism read with the usual misunderstandings, drama, friends and family angst that comes with young adulthood. While the story may have seemed predictable, the man who I wanted to win Madeline’s heart did. This make it a satisfying read for me.

Madeline and Jackson’s love story in Rookie in Love by Sarah White was truly enjoyable. Hotel heiress Madeline Stone has lived the life of the perfect, good girl since the death of her mother; allowing her father and brothers to dictate the life she’s been living. She is afraid of making waves or living life like a normal college coed. That is until she accidently encounters the college’s sexy quarterback, Jackson Rider, after celebrating her birthday. Jackson enjoys life, living it to the fullest, unlike Madeline. Jackson makes Madeline feel alive and reckless, tempting her to enjoy life and stand up for herself. Jackson would not check any of the boxes for Madeline’s life plan, set by her family, but she has suddenly developed new goals and dreams for herself. With Jackson’s love and encouragement Madeline just might find that happy ever after.

I admired how strong Madeline was but worried about the expectations her family demanded of her. I loved that Jackson taught her how to live life to the fullest before her anxieties caused her to retreat and bow to her brother’s demands. In the long run, she needed to do what was best for her, not her brothers or father; it was her life to live and learn from any mistakes she might make.

Ms. White wrote a wonderful, sexy and emotional story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Madeline and Jackson a chance at having a true love. I highly recommend Rookie in Love to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

This is my first book by Sarah White and I really enjoyed it. It was an easy book to read. The words flowed seamlessly, the characters were fabulous and the storyline, even though done before, was just superb.
I adored Jackson. He is very much a mans man, but the way he fell for Maddy and fell hard was fantastic. It had me cheering for not only their relationship but them as a couple.
It took a while for Maddy to grow that backbone, but I was happy that she finally did.
I would definitely read more from this author in the future.

Rookie in Love has been a quick, fun and sexy read. Stars Maddy (Madeline to her controlling but loving family) and Jackson (football jock, hunk and all round good guy) are both easy to love and I found myself loving them both very quickly, though at times I wanted to slap Maddy around the ears and tell her to get a life. She spent much of the story worrying that her family wouldn’t let her love Jackson. Of course that all got resolved in the end, but still ...
The story itself is pretty much your classic college love story with a bit of humour and a hefty dose of angst thrown in. It flows well, is easy to read and hard to put down and generally an entertaining read.

Madeline has accepted that she'll follow whatever her family wants her to do - marry a perfect guy, produce perfect children, become the perfect wife. But she wants time for herself first. And she meets Jackson.

Overall, the book had an engaging plot. I was concerned it would be a little insta-lust-y but it wasn't. It did jump a bit too fast from Jackson and Madeline getting to know each other to "I think about you all the time" but it wasn't completely out of nowhere.

Madeline was a likeable character in an unlikeable situation, Jackson seemed a little too-good-to-be-true. Despite hiding a secret, he didn't really seem to have any character faults, which I love in a romantic hero.

The writing and dialogue seemed a little forced at times, especially when the characters were trying to be flirty, and the sex scenes were the absolute opposite of sexy. The foreplay scenes were quite explicit then the sex scenes were half a sentence? Eh.

Greg was super wishy-washy and I was actually really glad with the end of his storyline.

The supporting romance was cute and enjoyable.

Overall good, probably wouldn't reread but wouldn't dissuade anyone from reading it.

A New to me author that I'll be sure to check out more books. Rookie In Love by Sarah White. A storyline that has some spicy content, a great characters and plot that pulled me in. The first line pulled me in. "Taking in the moonlight lawns littered with passed-out Frat boys and half-emptied red cups, I fight the buzz-fueled giggle that bubbles up in my chest

Rookie in love was a book I expected to love so much but just... didn't..
I felt like it all went to quickly, the two main characters hit it off from the get go and I didn't like it that much.
Such a shame, but I am sure that there will be others that will love it more than I did!

Amazing addictive. I loved this book as it was really sweet at times and it tugged at my heartstrings and left my heart happy at the very end of the story. Highly recommend

There were things that I loved about this book and there were things that I didn't care for. The characters of Maddie and Jackson and their relationship were fantastic. The chemistry there was fire and jumped off the page. However, the secondary storyline of the other relationship and Maddie's family was really convoluted and served only to muddy the waters. It would be a stronger book to keep the love story and change the backstory around it.

I'm really not a fan of any type of romance triangle and when I discovered that's where the plot was headed I was immediately leery. Then for Madeline to basically hold on to two guys almost until the end was not my thing. 2 stars because I did like the beginning.

I have read some reviews written by other reviews and I really think that some of them were too hard on this author. I do agree that it was a little predictable but besides that this book was a really great read from beginning to end. I loved Jackson and Madeline. I found there love story to be really sweet and in places it really got to me. Although the ending seems to be a little bit fast it was the ending I was hoping for. All in all I thought Rookie in Love was really enjoyable and I look forward to reading more by this author. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read by Sarah White, and I really liked it. Although the story was predictable, Maddy and Jackson were a believable couple. It was a quick, light read. Just what I needed!

So I started off loving this book.
I was pulled in and the characters seemed strong.
But after reading more I just want to slap Maddy.
I get that her family plays a role in her life but to keep dragging it up and talking about it every 3 pages is annoying.
I do love the storyline and Jackson is a dream book boyfriend.
But the main character and her bff both need backbones. Rrrrrrg
Mandy’s brothers are jerks who only think of money (if they really wanted her happy then they would support her in everything she wanted to do in life)
and a simple chat with her aunt and she figured her whole life out. And then bam their getting married.
overall the plot and characters where pretty solid (other than some spinelessness). I really want to give this book a 4 star but I’m going to have to give it 3. maybe an epilogue to add a little more to the ending would be a great idea.

This is a wonderful book. It is about finding true love and taking a chance. Auntie Gwen gave Maddy good advice!
