Here is a real page turner. It just start quite slow but stay with it . It’s worth it. I think this slow burning works well and add to the intensity of the book.
Thank you to both NetGalley and publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest unbiased review

A brilliant thriller, I loved this book, a real page turner, I couldn’t put it down. Five stars from me.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Camilla Way for the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

A slow burn and then I was gripped! The pace increased at a good steady pace and lead me nicely to the conclusion. The characters all remained true to themselves until all was revealed and it was then I felt rather disappointed. The harmony between the family that we were lead to believe had been so close was suddenly and conveniently shattered. I felt it was all a little too contrived. I couldn’t quite believe in Stella’s actions or the convenience of Margot’s response. So for me the build up was excellent but the conclusion let me down. However, on the whole a good read and I would be interested to read more of this author’s work.

Wow,Camilla Way certainly knows how to write a whopper of a book!!! I was convinced Alek had taken Cleo. I was guessing to the very end but had no idea whatsoever. Shocked me when the real person who killed Ruby was found out!! Wow just wow

I struggled with this novel. The premis was excellent and it should have held my attention. Sadly it didn’t. When I read that a convicted murderer emigrated to Canada I was left in disbelief. There is no way this would happen in modern times.

Having read Watching Edie last year, I knew I was in for a treat when Who Killed Ruby arrived on my kindle shelf, and I am pleased to report, that it delivered! The novel was very dark at times and often had my heart pounding ten to the dozen. As I read a lot of domestic thrillers, it takes a lot to really stir me, but there were elements in this novel that really shocked me, which is good, as it shows just how invested I was in the characters and their experiences.

Speaking of characters, I loved the variety of people that populated the novel; they were unique. intriguing, and fully formed. So much so, that I could really imagine them as real people, which is such a skill, and so much harder to pull off successfully than people realise.

The writing style is perfect for me. It’s atmospheric but simple, which is exactly what I like; pages and pages of superfluous descriptions annoy me in novels, and Way struck the perfect balance between description, action and dialogue, and I was sucked into Viv’s world seamlessly. I felt the love she had for her daughter. I experienced the terror she felt when her sister was murdered. It was all-encompassing.

The one niggle I have is with the ending, which is merely a personal preference as I know that Way likely did this on purpose. Everything was tied up wonderfully, so technically, it was perfect. I can’t give too much away without spoiling it, but I’ll say this; the ending was frustrating to me, which I know was intentional, but it still bothered me. I guess that shows just how invested I was in the characters and their lives!.

I think this novel has solidified Way as one of my favourite thriller writers!

A great, suspensful, story, everything you expect from a tension filled thriller and yes I didn't see the end coming!

I consumed this book in less than a day because I just had to find out what was going to happen. I was kept guessing right up to the end. Brilliantly written with great characterisation. A real treat with on the edge of your seat moments. I’m off to investigate more books by this talented author.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the ARC in return for a unbiased review.
First publication by this author I've read and won't be the last.
On many occassions I thought I had seen through the plot but the in classic "whodunit" style the author suceeded in throwing many curve balls to the reader. I for one didn't see the outcome.
Nice one Ms Way and thanks again

Thank you for the opportunity to read 'Who Killed Ruby?', I was very interested to read about EMDR having recently read some articles on it. Camilla Way explained it well.

The story was interesting although I felt the ending was a bit of a let down and I was not always convinced by the characters.

I really loved this book right from the first page! Viv has never got over the murder of her sister Ruby when Viv was just a child. Viv's evidence at the time put Ruby's boyfriend Jack in prison for 30 years. But Viv has never really been certain of what she saw at the time, and suffers terrible panic attacks when she tries to remember. Then strange things start to happen, which Viv is convinced are connected to Jack, who is now a free man. But if Jack didn't kill Ruby, who did? This is a great read with a good twist. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

Who Killed Ruby is a well-written, addictive read which kept me guessing until the very end. As something significant happens (I won't say what!) the story turns into one told from dual perspectives, and I enjoyed trying to guess 'whodunnit' - not everyone is who they seem, but who?

I liked the fact that the story centres around on an old crime, from years ago - cold cases are always interesting to read about as you can see how they affect characters and the people still alive today - and then expands to be very much relevant today! We're taken on a journey as we try to work out if what Vivienne remembers, as a young child, was actually true?

I really enjoyed the twists but some parts definitely required a little suspension of disbelief. However, this is a solid, well-written crime novel that will grab the reader from page one and not let them go.

I love a psychological thriller that keeps you on your toes.

When Vivienne was 8, her sister Ruby was murdered (whilst heavily pregnant) by her then-boyfriend Jack. Only Vivienne was at home with Ruby at the time and her evidence helped put Jack in prison.

32 years later, Vivienne now lives with her 13 year old daughter Cleo. She starts receiving things to do with her sister/her death in the post and at the same time her daughter is chatting with a teenage boy online, but nothing is as it seems.

The pace of this book is brilliant. It's so fast and you end up being suspicious of everyone. There are some instances where I did need to suspend belief but the plot is great.

This is the first book of Camilla Way's that I have read. It was a good book and with a good storyline. I just didn't think it was an excellent psychological thriller. When you read a lot of these types of books, you tend to be able to see through all the red herrings and can often see the twist coming. This book was great but does not stand out from all the many psychological thrillers out there. It is worth a read though. I will look out for the author's other books.

An ok read but far too slow for me and I found myself drifting away. This book is probably best read in 1 or 2 sittings to keep the momentum going. Apart from that the story itself is very good.

Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book. Although the story of who did kill Ruby was interesting, I felt it was a bit slow until about half way through. Didn’t see the twist at the end coming. Not a bad book, eventually.

As a huge fan of psychological thrillers WHO KILLED RUBY? ticks all my personal requirements for an entertaining, twisted and gripping story.

Vivienne and Ruby were sisters - eight years apart but little Vivienne idolised her older sister.  When Ruby was killed at the age of 16 and heavily pregnant by her abusive older boyfriend Vivienne hid in the wardrobe during the murder and her witness statement helped send Ruby's killer to prison for 32 years.  Since then Vivienne has been plagued by nightmares and guilt over the murder and when she starts receiving notes and dead flowers on the anniversary of Ruby's death she begins to question all that she believes.

When her teenage daughter Cleo gets abducted Vivienne is thrown into a race against time to save her daughter and find out who really did kill Ruby.  This takes Vivienne on a journey to re-examine her past and childhood and her relationship with her mother Stella.

This is a really twisty gripping thriller full of red herrings and some strong characters which kept me glued to the screen eager to find out who killed Ruby and who abducted Cleo.  A fast paced story about mothers and daughters, guilt and grief.  Recommended.

This is a tense and twisty psychological thriller that completely took me over on a long journey. It’s perfectly paced with strong characterisation and lots of angst and confusion. Although I guessed the true identity of Jack early on, I was in two minds about who had actually killed Ruby until the end because the author kept me guessing with some unreliable narrative and a cast of thoroughly undesirable characters, each of whom could plausibly be the killer. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good domestic noir story.

Such a good story with family loyalty - albeit coerced and consequently misguided - portayed so believably that the twist when it comes is all the more dramatic. Highly recommended.
