A fairly easy read with a generous amount of plot twists and turns as you would expect from a thriller. I had a problem believing the memories of an eight year old being as vivid as Vivienne’s were thirty years later. I have never met a child of that age with as much insight into mood changes in others never mind then bringing them to mind.

This book had me gripped from the start, a great opening chapter from there I had to finish the book as fast as I could. I love it when the twist knock me for six, didn't expect the ending at all. I liked the main characters in the book. Overall great book which I would recommend.
Thank you for this copy of Who Killed Ruby? netgalley

Who Killed Ruby is a perfectly crafted psychological thriller that had me hooked from the beginning.
Vivienne, cafe owner and single mother to Cleo has been living in the shadow of her sister Ruby’s murder for many years. At eight years old, it was her evidence that convicted Ruby’s boyfriend Jack of her murder but certain recent events have made her question whether she made a mistake especially as Jack always protested his innocence. Having served his time Vivienne starts to wonder if he is out to seek revenge for this miscarriage of justice and the reader starts to wonder who really did kill Ruby??
There are a vast array of characters in this novel, all well drawn, with Vivienne’s mother Stella taking a central role. Whilst obviously a strong imposing figure, she’s not particularly likeable despite running a refuge for London’s waifs and strays. Her relationship with Vivienne seems awkward, having exposed her daughter to an unconventional childhood, seeking refuge in a womens commune after the death of Ruby.
The author cleverly casts aspersions on a number of male characters, making the reader suspicious of their motives and providing enough uncertainty to make them all seem guilty. Neil, next door neighbour to Vivienne and Cleo is portrayed in a poor light as a creepy, lonely middle aged divorcee intent on forging a friendship with the pair. He becomes highly suspect to the reader when we learn that Cleo is being groomed online by the so called Daniel, a fellow gamer. Add to the mix, Vivienne’s new boyfriend, the mysterious Alek, a refugee from Kosovo and practising anaesthetist and there are all the ingredients to make this a gripping thriller.
Both storylines intertwine when Cleo goes missing, having agreed to meet Daniel and Vivienne is convinced Jack is somehow responsible for her abduction.
Full of red herrings with a shocking twist at the end, Who killed Ruby is full of tension and suspense which in my opinion made it a real page turner. I devoured this thriller virtually in one go, only half guessing one of the brilliant twists and thoroughly recommend. Thanks as always to the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read.

I loved this gripping thriller. Full of twists and turns it cleverly leaves the reader guessing all the way through, and nicely illustrates the unreliability of memory. It also paints a realistic portrait of mother/daughter relationships. I would thoroughly recommend this as a great holiday read.

Fast paced book that grabbed me from the first page. Plenty of red herrings and a twist I never saw coming.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Viv has spent most of her life mourning her sister Ruby and convinced the man she helped put in prison killed her sister. Viv's daughter is "groomed" and when she goes to meet her online friend she is kidnapped! Her mum can save her if she tells the kidnapper who killed Ruby.
Viv is against the clock trying to go back to the past and recall what exactly happened and did she help out the wrong man in prison for 30 years!!
What Viv unearths through a type of therapy leaves her and the reader shocked!!!

Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Ruby was killed over 30 years ago when she was 16. Her sister Viv, who was 8 at the time testified against Ruby’s boyfriend, Jack, who went to jail for about 30 years. Now it seems Jack is out of jail and living in Canada, but weird things are starting to happen.
I loved Lies We Told so I was excited to read this one. It was good but not quite as good. I thought it started out a bit slow but once it got going, I was pretty into it and wanted to find out who really did kill Ruby. The ending was pretty surprising and overall I enjoyed the book.

An excellent thriller that I could not put down,
32 years ago Vivienne's pregnant 16-year-old sister Ruby was murdered. Viv was a key witness in the trial that put away her killer. She still has nightmares of the events of the day of the murder. The book opens with three women stood around a dead body then backtracks to the events leading up to this event.
As well as the current story leading to the body in the kitchen we get to discover Ruby's story and what happened to her years ago.
Along the way, we are treated to the intertwined stories of Viv, her mother and her daughter and family secrets slowly being revealed. A great cast of characters and plenty of twists to the story keep the reader guessing as to where it is heading.
Highly recommended.

Secrets and twists galore in the fast-paced psychological thriller, centering on the title itself. Just who DID kill Ruby? Spanning 3 generations of one family, grandmother, daughter, and grand-daughter. I won't get into it in too much detail as I don't want to spoil anything for the readers but it kept me captivated all the way through. I'm going to deduct 1 star though - sorry - insofar as I guessed the killer well before the ending but this book held my interest nevertheless. Well written and suspenseful it's certainly very entertaining. My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this standalone book which grabbed my attention from the first page. It is well written, has a great plot line with lots of twists and turns and an ending which I didn’t see coming.
It’s a really good book to take on holiday as it’s short (just over 300 (pages), easy to read and doesn’t have complex sub plots.
I’d like to thank NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read this book.

Who Killed Ruby was a fast paced enjoyable read and I completed it in one sitting not even moving to go to the toilet...I needed to know what happened which is a sign of a great thriller book!
Three stars because I thought Camilla was giving red herrings to the murderer but was obvious!

Well I just flew through this book it was just so damn good I couldn’t put it down and I read it in just over a day ignoring all the things I should have been doing !!
Secrets, twists and lots of suspense I was gripped and just wanted to know what was going to happen and don’t you just love a book that when your not reading it you are thinking about it, well this was one of those. I won’t rehash the plot because I would just say get this book and just start reading because it really is a compulsive read and one not to be missed, Camilla Way you are one hell of brilliant writer.
My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

When just a child Viv lost her sister Ruby. She was murdered. Thirty years later Viv must relive the past to save her daughter Cleo. This book just got better and better and I certainly didn’t see the ending coming. Fabulous read

Full of suspense, it is very difficult to put this book down as you just want to find out who did kill Ruby? I love the way the start is returned to at almost the close of the book. The story has come full circle having taken us on a journey of discovery. Lots of red herrings scattered throughout the route, and although I suspected who the guilty party was near to the end, there were still enough unanswered questions to keep me on the edge of my seat, unable to stop reading and desperate to know the 'whys' behind some of the characters' stories.
It is difficult to describe the plot in a way that doesn't spoil it. Did Jack Delaney kill Ruby? He did spend 30 years in prison for the crime. Vivienne Swift embarks on a search to uncover the truth when on the anniversary of Ruby's death she is sent a box containing some partially dead irises, Ruby's favourite flower. As Viv searches we meet and learn about her mother Stella, the commune where Viv was raised, her own daughter Cleo and various friends who all have a part to play in this tense psychological thriller.
Highly recommend this read.

This was a really good gripping read. There were interesting characters and a really good twist.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

Absolutely brilliant didn’t want to put it down!!! Up until the last chapter didn’t see it coming! Highly recommend

You have to move on from the past or it will consume you. But something in Viv’s past was untrue and now it’s coming to haunt her with a vengeance.
I was enjoying the twists in this tale of murder & retribution until the ending which I thought was slightly predictable. But overall it was an engaging read.

This thriller starts with three people stood around a dead body.
This was such a good book.
Upon the beginning of the book, we do not know why the people are stood around the body, what they are doing there and what the relationship is with the people.
The novel then goes on to explain the story of "Who Killed Ruby?".
The book was brilliant. There were a lot of twists in the plot and I thoroughly enjoyed this.
I have read all Camilla Way's other novels and enjoyed them all. This one did not disappoint.

A tension-packed read that I raced through, not quite believing my thoughts but determined to find out what happened.
The story begins with two women discussing a body on the floor, waiting for the police to come. All we’re told is he’s the man who killed Ruby.
We then shift to a time period a little earlier where we learn about the brutal murder of Ruby, Vivienne’s sister, when she was 16. Vi’s testimony put Ruby’s boyfriend in jail, and although Vi has always had a niggling doubt about her recollection of that day things seem quite straightforward. Then Vi starts to get reminders and notes that she believes to be from the man convicted.
Alongside us learning the details of Vi’s past we watch her try to get on with life now. A new relationship, and settling into life with close friends. We see her young daughter, Cleo, excited to be receiving texts and emails from a young boy she met online. Of course there’s more to this than meets the eye.
There’s a lot packed into what is quite a short read. It does mean that things happen rapidly, and don’t always make sense at the time.
By the time we get told what actually happened and some of the loose ends are tied up, I was rather taken aback but also annoyed that so many chances to change events were ignored.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this prior to publication in exchange for my honest opinion.

Now this is a bit of a strange one to review. I didn’t find it gripping as much as this authors other bugs. Yet at the same time I was intrigued. It wasn’t a book that I struggled to put down either. Yet I was keen to pick it back up.. it’s definitely got something however for me it was the intrigue and the storyline more so than the heart pounding previous books. So I do have to say. Overall a good book and a book worth reading. I would actually tell people to read it. There was just that little bit of something missing. I think the only word I can think of is it was missing the exiting element.
